Hard-hitting West Indies opener Chris Gayle has expressed his desire to visit Pakistan and meet Prime Minister Imran Khan.

After guiding his team Balkh Legends to semi-finals of the inaugural edition of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL), Gayle said that wants to go to Pakistan, as well as Afghanistan, and chill with the nation’s premier.

“I’ve never been to Pakistan or Afghanistan, but perhaps I can go and chill with the Prime Minister (Imran Khan) since he was a former cricketer,” he said according to Gulf News.

Gayle also made a tongue in cheek comment about wanting a private jet for travelling to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“I have never been to Afghanistan. We will have to wait and see if I will undertake a trip there [for the second edition of the APL next year]. If you have a private jet then send it to me, and that would be my condition to visit Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he joked.

It is interesting to note here that, Gayle has visited Pakistan before — having played three Tests and four ODIs there — but perhaps it slipped his mind because those matches were played more than a decade ago in 2006.

Some people will now do bhangra on social media without realizing it is a joke.

Why is he playing in a third-rate T20 league instead of an ODI series against one of the best teams in the world in which his experience would have helped tremendously? WI should seriously wash their hands off this guy. He shouldn't be picked for the World Cup.

Haha.

He's no more the party boy Imran Khan that he seems to think he is.

First thing Gayle would be asked for : donate $X to the dam fund. :najam And then a lecture on 'austerity' measures he should take.

Gayle toured Pakistan in 2006 so his statement of never being to Pakistan is not true

I don't follow cricket that much these days, but I assume his career is on a downward spiral if he's talking about visiting Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Gayle is a proper joker. He doesn't take much if anything seriously:vk

Imagine going partying or clubbing with Gayle and Imran Khan, that'd be lit. Both know how to get down.

Maybe he should’ve gone when invited with the rest of the windies squad.
