[VIDEOS] Dale Steyn at the Pakistan Super League

Dale Steyn has never been a significant white-ball bowler. He has been average at RCB during his international peak.

The swing he had at his peak was gone by2014 itself. Which also was when his white ball decline started.

Steyn should never be bowling at the death. His best weapon is his swing and relentless attack. He doesn't have the variation of a death bowler. Bowl him out at the start.

No Pakistani captain will do that. Steyn isn't dumb and fully believes he's a good death bowler. His ego will take a hit if he isn't bowled at the death

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn lashed out at a commentator after the latter made a remark on his hairstyle during a 2021 Pakistan Super League match on Friday. Steyn took to Twitter to reply to the comment.

During the game between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, commentator Simon Doull made a remark on Steyn's long hair. He was heard saying, "mid-life crisis, with that hair" as the camera pointed towards Steyn in the dressing room. A fellow commentator further said, "lockdown hair."

Post the game, Steyn asked fans on social media to identify the commentator who made the remark, and further posted a stern message once a host of fans posted the video-clip of the moment from the game.

"If your job is to talk about the game, then do that. But if you use that airtime to abuse anyone for their weight, sexual choices, ethnic backgrounds, lifestyle etc or even hairstyles, then im afraid I have no time for you as a human. You and anyone else like that to be fair," Steyn wrote on his official Twitter profile.

"That’s all I have to say. It was a great time last night, fantastic to play in front of crowds again, cricket is so much better that way. We lost but hopefull (sic) to pull it together in our remaining games. Thanx for the support. Have a great weekend everyone," he wrote in another tweet.

Steyn took two wickets but conceded 44 runs in the game against Peshawar Zalmi, as the latter chased down the target with three deliveries to spare. This was Steyn's first match in the ongoing PSL season.

Since the restart of cricket following COVID-19 outbreak, Steyn has only featured in franchise cricket. He represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 Indian Premier League before playing two games for the Kandy Tuskers in the inaugural season of the Lanka Premier League.

These were casual remarks with no offense intended but these days you have to so politically correct robot like off screen or on screen that Steyns point seems very plausible.

Very sensative about his hair apparently.

He has a history of being sensitive lol. Remember the whole Michael Clarke drama. Clarke moved and forgot what fight they even had but lo and behold six months later Steyn says he took comments personally and still holds a grudge against Clarke.

Everyone has the right to express themselves but over a period of time you learn which ones to take seriously. Dale Steyn is a legend as a test match fast bowler but he's no Nasser Hussein, Ian Bishop or Rahul Dravid whom you turn to to hear about their comments on the game. Steyn's a bit of diva since retirement, especially on Twitter.

Also read somewhere him saying other leagues liek PSL and Lankan leagye are more rewarding for a cricketer which is why he 'opted' to skip the IPL this year. Dude, KL Rahul , Rohit Sharma were literally sweeping you for sixes out of the ground for fun sake. Just admit your time's up and you have no business playing IPL anyway. You were picked for your brand value and you have been embarrassing yourself by cashing in on that.

PS: The above commentary is based on me watching last year's IPL. I will be boycotting IPL 2021 in protest of BCCI and Indian cricketers turning fascist.

Weird how fast bowlers like Archer, etc were showing same speed as their international speeds. So the fake guns were only used for Indian bowlers?

Lol go and check the speeds of ipl 2019 edition even stokes and shami bowled 150 in that edition and then compare their speeds

Maybe read what he actually said before trying to ridicule him? He simply said that he find it more rewarding due to less focus on the financial side and more about the cricket. That’s his personal opinion and he certainly has more credibility to comment on these leagues and his experiences than armchair experts on PP. :)

After getting smashed for 17 runs in his first over by Stirling, he recovered well to take a wicket and concede only 3 more runs in his 2 other overs.

Overall figures of 1/20 in 3 overs.

His wicket of Rohail:
