Haris Rauf's first interview after his injury with the Lahore Qalandars media team:
"This is part of the game, I had never experienced a major injury before. This is the first time such an injury has occurred."
"PSL is a significant event in Pakistan, it creates memories for your life. The team also expects you to perform, especially as a senior player. When key players are not participating, it disturbs the team, and results may not be in favor. I am quite disappointed and disheartened that I am not playing, the team needs me. Whenever I play, regardless of the team, I try to give my 100 percent. I am with the team to motivate the youngsters. Being with the team feels good to me."
"There were quite a few problems at the start. There was an issue with sleep, proper sleep was not possible due to significant pain. As a professional, you have to endure these things because it's a reality. In any sport, you can face injuries. Now that the injury has occurred, the focus is on recovering quickly to make a strong comeback."
"If someone play cricket to prove others, that's entirely wrong. I haven't come here to prove anything to anyone. Whether people say I am playing well or not, if I am mentally satisfied that I have given my 100 percent and put in full effort, that's what matters. Sometimes results may not be in your favor, there are ups and downs in life. I had a time when I couldn't perform. I know people have expectations, but I know how I can come back and give my best. I will learn from my mistakes and work on them so that they don't happen again."
"When the injury occurred, I was quite upset. The people in your surroundings matter a lot. Fortunately, I had supportive people around me, especially my partner [Shaheen Shah Afridi] off the field and on the ground. The support and understanding he provided was crucial. It's a blessing to have such a partner and the support from the management, like Sameen Bhai, who always supports me when I face problems. So, it's about staying positive, working on the mistakes, and being grateful for the blessings."
"This injury is also a blessing in disguise, you learn a lot, and you understand who the people are in your surroundings support you and who do not. I will work with the doctors, physiotherapists, and try to get ready for the World Cup. I will aim to be available for the England series and my main target is the World Cup. I will try to meet the expectations of the people who love us and bring joy to Pakistan with my performances."
