[VIDEOS] "I still have a lot to offer Pakistan cricket" : Ahmed Shehzad

Nadeem Omar or Moin Khan or whoever is responsible for his selection needs to let go of their emotions and bench him.

Not in T20Is, but Masood is eating his runs in Test cricket.

Nadeem Omar or Moin Khan or whoever is responsible for his selection needs to let go of their emotions and bench him.

I think he's probably got one more chance, if he fails, then he has to be dropped.

But there again, it depends on who is actually picking the team.

he is just way too mediocre for any format. His technique is way too bad.He doesn't have shots and he has nothing really.i don't understand why people compare him to Umar akmal. Umar akmal is way too superior than this mediocrity.Awful cricketer this Ahmed mediocre shehzad

Another chance, another flop.

How can they keep picking him.

Bullet Drive. Please lecture us how selfie is better then Babar and how he's been treated unfairly.

Ahmad Shehzad is not a reliable batsman, i am surprised how Q Gladiators keeps on picking him, rubbish batsman.

Quetta will lose 99% of time if he plays/survive for more than 3 overs. Their best chances of winning games is when he gets out without wasting 20-25 deliveries.

It really is a shame with this lad. He could have been a reliable test batsmen ahead of his head injury but has just plummeted in pressure situations since. Whilst I don't want to see him anywhere near a Pakistan squad going forward, I atleast respect the hard work he's put into his fitness in trying to get there. Also, he's young enough that he'll always get picked by a PSL side till he retires, based on his past international caps

I really used to be a big Shezzy supporter and he still may have a role in the test team, but bless him the more i see him the more i dislike him now.

Just looks so overly keen, fidgety and low on confidence. Still shows some elegance every now and then but I think his main problem is his own head.

I think he's right when he says he isn't given chances, he earns them by forcing his way in. I think it's pretty predictable when he's going to go boom and when he'll go bust, the board should use this. Against Australia in the T20Is would have been perfect given his form and the pitches suit him, but against Sri Lanka him and Umar Akmal were always going to be fragile and fail.

Absolute ridiculous start for him in the psl needs to be dropped for ahsan ali

Ahmed Shehzad dropped for todays PSL game, Ahsan Ali included, but but Shehzad still have lot to offer for Pakistan Cricket:yk

Abdul Razzaq on Ahmed Shehzad in the Post Match Presser:

"Ahmed Shehzad's had chances to play in 5-6 games so far but has not performed that well but he is a senior player and we expect him to perform well in every game, but he hasnt done that so lets see what happens in the next game"

"Ahmed Shehzad is a senior player, he was with the team last year and performed well; He should have played according to the situation but he had some bad luck"

10 of 17 when chasing a RRR of 12?!!

Okay, seriously, how does this guy get away with this? Like, how can he wall back to the dressing room and not have the captain and coach go off on him?

I didn't see the match, but can anyone tell me if I'm missing something here?

he literally has no shame. He walks off the ground after getting out as if he missed out on his century by few runs. There was no intent either like running double in order to get the better batsmen on strike. It makes you wonder if he is involved in match fixing.

The commentators were going off on him for the right reasons. This dude sucked the energy off this chase. He should be no where near any team. People like him ruin the quality of the League. For the love of god the media has to stop hyping him.

Razzaq seems to have a soft spot for him judging by the quotes

Whats all this senior player rubbbish Hes either good enough of not And he clearly isnt

The commentators were blasting him left right and centre should have sent azam khan or cutting

can somebody clear me out how a player becomes senior* ?
is it just the longevity regardless of performance?
or if a player perform in a particular sports for good amount of time ?
whats the criteria here ? as far as I've seen with pakistan team every railu katta player has been tagged as senior just because of their longevity.

Just 9 off 8 for Shehzad. Horror run continues.

Quetta and Lahore management must be held accountable for such poor planning and carrying so much baggage into this season. They have literally a year to plan the next season and their poor planning is effecting the quality of tournament as well.

Shehzad's scores in this year's PSL. Huge downfall for him from last season.

yup its longevity.

i think misbah once called Zulfiqar Babar (who was already 33+ officially at the time and probably 40 actually) a 'youngster.' Same with Inzi calling Abdur Rehman a youngster.

He should be dropped and shouldn't play anymore matches for quetta got out to a hit me bowl

This has been a really bad PSL, even by Shehzad's mediocre standards. He's failed with even very low expectations

This is more mental than just his lack of ability at this point. He's truly done

Franchise have nothing to lose even if they don't win any.Lahore Qalander is between 5-6 for last 4 seasons and will be the same this year but they will even play PSL 10 as long as they have money. PCB as usual is happy with money only. So the circus will continue. Shehzad will be played next year as well. Neither PCB nor franchises are not worry about performances.

Shehzad the current era's equivalent of Farhat, Faisal Iqbal and Hameed. All talk and when it comes to the crunch useless. Hasn't got the mental capacity to be consistent. Has technical flaws such as walking across the stumps. Quit wasting time on this guy.

You can see Shehzad's daddy issues clearly. Poor guy really suffered due to losing his father. I hope he gets a look in the test team.

Shahzad was excellent untill hit by the Correy Anderson bouncer, now he has lost everything.

If excellent means average 34 at a mid 70 strike rate then friend you need to up your standards

Man, stop deliberately lying. Corey hit him in a test match where Shehzad averages 41.

Yeah, he was good. Put in some solid years and was getting better in tests.

Now, he is not an option, we should move on.

Why? He is still an option in tests. And if he performs he can get a look in the LOI team as well. Not like we are overflowing with batting talent.

he was always a terrible ODI player and a limited test player with nothing of note outside UAE. In fact his only away matches were in SL and WI at the time (the 2 easier away tours ) and hes average in both.

in his first series back after being to being hit by a 120kph Corey bouncer, Shehzad actually hit a century. His mediocrity has nothing to do with the dibbly dobbly short ball. He was always poor

He hardly set the world alight with an average of 38 in the 2019/29 QeA trophy so dont know why he would deserve a recall. And he was absolutely atrocious in PSL. Absolutely terrible.

Even his buddy KP ragged on him for his nonexistent performances.

The likes of Haider, Zeeshan, Omair, Imran, Sami Aslam are all outperforming him in the domestic circuit, so no, he is not. That's 5 options ahead of him already.

Don't think he is in contention for the longer format at the moment. Even that average of 38 flatters him. He averaged 24 until the last match of the group stage which was played on a complete pancake pitch where he made 100 and 100*. Six other batsmen hit tons in that game. A bunch of batsmen have outscored him by miles in this past FC season, and he didn't play in 18/19 either.

He was arguably the worst batsmen in the last PSL - not just stroke play, he genuinely had a difficult time getting bat on ball.

Not sure if he has much to offer even as a domestic first class batsmen. And I would be surprised if he's selected in the PSL again next year

Career gone nowhere but dont expect him to disappear, he will be around as the next Hafeez, Malik. Everywhere else decent players get one cycle at best, in PK terrible players hang around for 2 decades.

Seems to have some fitness issues as mentioned in PCB team list for Central Punjab

I don’t understand how people are saying his average of 40 after 13 tests earns him a place in the side or a comeback... his average of 40 is after playing on flat UAE tracks where most Pakistan batsman have done well in tests. His away average in the rest of Asia and West Indies is in the mid 20s which simply isn’t good enough. It’s not like he played most of his 13 tests in SENA and averaged 40. Don’t think he’d average over 20 if he did.
On top of this he thinks domestic and internationals are similar and calls himself “aggressive” after having a strike rate of 70 in Odis which was the lowest across the world as openers when he was playing. With his self-centered, arrogant and stubborn mindset I don’t ever want to see him back in the Pakistan side.

His average of 40 is due to the UAE bashing’s when we were putting up 600 runs per innings

From PCB:

Ahmed Shehzad and Hasan Ali were unavailable for selection due to fitness for selection in the National T20 Cup

Ahmed Shehzad included for Central Punjab for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament 2020-21

One of the luckiest guys around. Cannot believe how many chances this guy got despite the average performances. But, he still found a way to muck it all up!

Out for 7 for Central Punjab in 2nd Round QeA

Karachi: Central Punjab (CP)’s opener Ahmed Shahzad reportedly argued with an on-field umpire at the end of Day 1 of Round 3 in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

In a video circulating on social media, Shahzad was seen arguing with an Umpire after officials called off Day 1 at National Stadium (NSK). Commentators also mentioned in the video that Shahzad was arguing with an Umpire.

However, a representative from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said the cricketer was just discussing a dismissal with the umpire. “He was discussing a dismissal with the umpire not arguing with him,” he said.

Shan Masood - Ave 31 in 43 inns
Ahmad Shahzad - Ave 40 in 25 inns

One is mediocre but gets picked because of his connections, the other gets discarded because he plays too slow in white ball cricket.

yeah pick mental midget on outstanding numbers in current quaid azam trophy

5 matches 1 fifty and batting average of 22

So he’s out of form? Doesn’t change the fact that he was dropped from the test team because of his white ball form.

He is history. Pakistan and it’s double standards are the present and the future I’m afraid

Both are terrible openers, and neither should play for Pakistan.
Shehzad's average of 40 isn't all that great, particularly when you see he averages under 30 outside the UAE

Not good enough for LOI's.

Tests are the only suitable format for him but he is liable to pressure. Plenty of single digit scores.

He averages 50 in UAE, dunno where under 30 came from.

My point is, why is a player who averages 30 getting picked over a player who averages 40🤨
