Pakistan Tik Tok star Asif Magsi, who is known for his long jumps, finally gets attention from Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) after his video of jumping over 11 motorcycles went viral on social media.

The video made rounds across social media platforms today (Monday), where Asif aka Hero Pakistani can be seen jumping over 11 motorcycles.

Following the video, the President of AFP Major General Akram Sahi (retired), who himself was the long jump champion of Pakistan, contacted the Thatta native and invited him for further training.

Speaking about Asif, the president AFP said, “This is a great moment for me as I was also the champions of Pakistan in long jump. I’m impressed with his talent, and could be a great asset for Pakistan.”

“He has a great potential, and the first question I asked was is he every got injured?” said former champion. “Thankfully, his answer was no, and I advised him to stay safe till we meet in Lahore, as I have already invited him.”

Meanwhile, Asif said he developed the skill of jumping while making Tik Tok videos. “I wanted to join Pak-Army since childhood. So I started making videos, which based on national songs, and each passing day my passion of jumping is increased so as my jumps.”

Multiple Olympic award-winning athlete Carl Lewis, on Monday lauded an aspiring Pakistani long jumper whose video went viral on social media after he jumped over 12 parked motorcycles.

Lewis — who has nine gold and one silver Olympic medals, as well as 10 World Championships medals, to his name — tweeted about the young man, praising him for "his lack of fear".

"Actually with his lack of fear, he has the perfect mindset," the American track athlete wrote on Twitter.

He needs to be given a chance to train and then represent Pakistan.

World record long jump is 8.95m.

Carl Lewis has 8.90m. He was a truly great athlete, not many can jump that far and also run under 10 seconds in the 100m.

Its hard to say but i've watched his back a few times and I would guess he jumped around 7m over the motorbikes. This is still a good jump esp with no real coaching (assuming).

The lad has a great technique and is blessed with such skill. Pakistan athletic team should call this lad asap and give him some proper help with coaching. Maybe not a future world record holder but has the potential to win a medal for Pak at the world champs or olypmics.

Lahore: Pakistan Army has called viral long jumper Asif Magsi to join the Army athletics team, ARY News reported.

According to the details, Asif will be trained under the supervision of Army’s athletics coaches. He will join the army team soon after giving a trial.

PAF’s president Major General Akram Sahi was happy that Pakistan Army picked up Asif for training. “I am sure Asif will be polished quite well by the Army coaches. He is the asset for Pakistan and I hope one day he represents Pakistan at the international level,” he said.

“We will be there for support and help for Asif anytime and I wish him best of luck for his future,” he added.

It must be noted here that Asif’s videos went viral on social media in which he can be seen jumping over 11 bikes and a lake covering a handsome distance.

The legend himself has taken note.

In the early 2000s, Altaf Hussain saw Jackie Chan perform stunts in Hollywood movies and instantly fell in love with parkour.

Fast forward to 2020 and he's a parkour expert himself and the frontman of Hazara Parkour, a team of 15 young men in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Hazara who are grabbing Pakistan's attention with their climbing and jumping skills.

"Parkour means complete control over your body," Hussain told SAMAA TV on Monday. "When you jump from a building, you're bound to fall. The trick is to keep your body safe."

The Hazara Parkour team was formed in 2007 and has featured in Pakistani movie Teefa in Trouble and a promotional event organised by Nestle Fruita Vitals. They use grounds, large fields and tall buildings to practice their skills.

Hussain has been part of the team for eight years and is looking for a breakthrough to become a professional stuntman in movies.

He feels that injuries are unavoidable while practicing parkour, but those who love it don't overthink about getting hurt. However, the nearest hospital in the Hazara district is an hour away and Hussain feels that lack of healthcare facilities in the area are stopping his team from reaching their full potential.
