[VIDEOS] Justice for Sahibzada Farhan: what did he do wrong?

He seems like a good hitter. He should get selected.

I first saw Farhan in Hong Kong Sixes (a few years ago).
 
He would need to play as an opener. We’ve wasted so many talents because of Rizbar and then persisting with Imam in ODI’s.
 
Time to introduce fresh faces in the team and this guy should be on the top of the list. Should open along with Fakhar (if he is not removed from the team along with other during the surgery)

Farhan needs a proper chance and his suitable place is to open where he has been batting and performed in domestics.
 
Sahibzada Farhan, Kamran Ghulam, and Mohammad Huraira will never get a fair opportunity as long as Babar is captain.

Farhan for T20s should not be a question anymore. He deserves a spot now. Saim and Usman have had their chances. Now Farhan deserves a shot at the opening spot.
 
This guy is also scoring runs in the longer format. Scored 66 against Bangladesh A in the first inning although he should have batted longer and made it a century but still it was a good knock.

Not sure when the performers will get a chance ?

Captain leading from the front. This guy is playing a good inning against Bangladesh A chasing 296.

Run-ball inning so far by him. Looking good here for a century.

1o fours and 1 six so far in his inning.
 
Sahibzada Farhan's performance in a sub-standard tournament like PSL has been quite ordinary, not sure why we we are so keen on getting him in the team..

Seems like quite an ordinary player..
 
Farhan's bad patch continues. Gone for zero today against Bangladesh A in the 2nd 50-over game of the Darwin tour.
 
This is the issue with Sahibzada Farhan that he is not consistent enough with the bat.. he need to work on his footwork most of the times he het stuck while playing any drive to covers.
 
Farhan started off strongly but in the end, he managed to score 36 off 22 balls against Perth Scorchers in the 1st game of the High-end T20 series in Darwin.

The Strike Rate is impressive TBH.

as always his SR is impressive, its enough to call him back in Pakistan team!
 
Another impressive inning from SahibZada Farhan today against Tasmania Tigers.

Scored 45 (27 balls) at a brilliant strike rate of 166. Knocking on door of selectors like a mad guy. Superb inning.

He can't ever knock on selectors doors as long as Babar and Rizwan are obsessively holding onto the opening spot.

The reason I made that Fakhar and Rizwan comparison and posted it on the Asian batter thread is because Your most destructive batter opens at t20.

Babar and rizwan open for t20 because it's the easiest place to settle considering you play the most no of deliveries, No pressure to move on and only 2 fielders in the outer ring, Hence they want it easy and aren't willing to improve their own sr.

Other sides play their openers for the sake of utilising the ease factor to their destructive advantage.

Fakhar's 91 of 46 against a proper aussie attack overseas is more then enough to justify why he should be our opener and shabzada farhan's amazing form and PP exploits is more then enough justification for him to be the 2nd opener.

But it won't happen, What will happen is that Max one of bobby or rizzu slides down at no 3 for like 1 or 2 games until they both cone back to open irrespective of whether the new guy performs or not.

Like I said, the guy is an accumulator without the quality of Babar and Rizwan - simply an inferior version.

Terrible innings.
 
Management is wasting this guy... he has scored runs at every level in domestic cricket... dont know what else he will do to get back into the team.
 
If he plays T20Is for Pakistan, his SR will be 125-130, and the same people who are now clamoring for his selection will be moaning about his “selfish” batting 24/7.
 
Sahibzada Farhan threw his wicket away when his team needed him most. He should have made a bigger impact here, but departed after scoring 24 off 35 balls against Markhors in the Champions One-Day Cup 2024.

Sahibzada Farhan has made a phenomenal start to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024-25, scoring a century on Day 1 of the first round. He achieved 100 runs off 135 deliveries against Karachi Region Whites.

@Rana was referring to the time shabzada farhan made his t20 debut and was made to bat at no 7 lol while bob/riz batted at opening.

And yes you're 100% correct, I also stated this. Shabzada farhan and Omair should replace Abdullah and Shan in redball.

Omair is a better all format investment. Shabzada should be a red ball opening specialist and he'll be good at it. Kinda like Usman Khawaja
 
He is not very good. Another one of those players like KG who only look good because they are not Pakistan regulars.

At best you can try him as a Test opener but he doesn’t belong to the white ball squads in the presence of Babar and Rizwan and he is obviously nowhere near as good as they are.

Farhan is crap in whiteball, the current champions one day cup proved it.

He's a solid test prospect though. He can easily replace Abdullah or Saim, both of which are next to useless atm in test.

Saim's 50's and 70's weren't special and Abdullah is somehow ever worse then that.

I have seen him bat on numerous occasions and he's not international material and I have followed this game long enough to know he won't succeed at international level.

This tells me you haven't watched farhan bat as much. His technique is horrible for an opener in tests and no he didn't bat at 7 when he made his debut. He opened he followed albeit a few games.

I have similar impression about him, but then there are geniuses on this forum who are claiming that he is 10x better than Babar and Rizwan so I hope he gets an extended run so that they learn their lesson.

I have seen farhan bat in qea and I have seen him bat in international (albeit briefly) and I have seen him bat throughout the Champions one day cup.

He avg 29 with an 85 sr I believe or something along those lines.

Regardless I've watched him enough to know that whiteball isn't his fortei however red ball is.

Abdullah isn't international material, he barely had any list A or FC experience before making his debut. Just like with abrar, Both these 2 had their golden moments when they were new, But their gaps and flaws will eventually present themselves.

Abdullah shafique doesn't even have the basics right for test? Half the time he's getting dismissed in lbw or gets bowled despite playing a defensive shot?

Their is no reason why a certified domestic red ball performer can't replace an inexperienced fraud like Abdullah in red ball.

Just like no one believed that nouma chacha and sajid Khan would make a difference despite my saying so, I will be proven right about shabzada should he make a test debut.

With all due respect. Please put narratives aside for a minute and think logically. In cricket you play your top performers and when your top performer isn't playing well, you Drop him for another top performer in the domestic set up.

Shabzada farhan and Omair Bin yousaf are top performers in red ball in the sane way KG and saud shakeel were. And not only are your current players like babar not performing, Some of them don't even have proper fc experience like Abdullah.

He's better then current Babar in red ball.

Current Babar in whiteball is superior.

Prime Babar is superior to Shabzada in every format.

Babar is not an opener in Red-ball but Farhan is. Can farhan play at 4?? I doubt that

So Farhan could be better than Abdullah+saim+shan in redball but not Babar.

The issue for Sahibzada is, in spin conditions he's solid & manages it with good power.

However like with many Pakistani batters, as soon pace is introduced, he is a fish out of water.

I still remember the way Tymal Mills got him out in the PSL this year. To make it worse, he was settled at the crease & pasted 70.
 
Farhan also praised the new captain Rizwan and hailed him as Fighter.

Let's see , looks like Rizwan has gelled the team well and it is the need of the hour. Often on Australian tour Pakistan team undergoes mental disintegration.

This exactly the problem, batsmen are willing to compromise on their batting position just so that they could play for pakistan

Need to play as an opener or 3

No point playing him 7 and coming in the 18th over to play catch up, he will just turn into a other asif ali. Better off not playing him at all

Pakistan hasn't been well nor gelled for years now.

Kamran Ghulam is batting at 5. Agha and saim have to share the plate for bowling 10 overs.

Again, the entire composition is damaged to accommodate a certain individual in the line up
 
After hitting two back-to-back boundaries, he needed to show some patience. Now the management will drop him from the squad.

He was doomed when he won the support of fans like OP. He doesn’t belong at this level and anyone with a half-decent understanding of cricket can see that.

This is why we have constant complaints of yaari dosti and favoritism. Selection is not about stats, one has to pass the eye test too. This guy is not cut out for this level. Usman looks to be the same but I hope he proves me wrong. Omair Bin Yousuf has the game for this level.
 
He has played 6 mathes in T20Is and his SR is 103. Mind-boggling selection. Seems like they keep selecting players for wrong formats.
 
This circus needs to stop of obliging people, on one hand Saim.plays the 50 over and Farhan 20 overs, than Saud plays red-ball and KG plays ODI.

PCB needs to learn a thing get a pool of 20 odd players and use them, no.point in random.pick and choose , Saim should have been playing T20s it was a no brainer after the ODI series
 
He earned his chance to open but he won't get a chance due to Babar+Rizwan and he isn't suited to number 3
Omair Bin Yousaf is the better option for the middle order, he has played match winning innings at numbers 3 and 4 for Karachi

He's done well in FC and List A recently with centuries and half centuries

Should have not been in t20.
 
Not surprised who is the OP for Sahibzada, he has the contract for all the scrap in Pakistan cricket.

@Rana what have you done, how can you back such a limited batter? First he has zero power game, he does not make the ODI team let alone T20s.

At best he can be given a chance in home Tests because he’ll miserably fail abroad.
 
I don’t get it…

A guy works hard in the domestics and isn’t getting his chance.

He finally is getting his chance in conditions that are not ideal but at least he’s getting a fair chance after a long time.

How is any of this my fault? The point of the thread is to give a deserving guy his chance! What’s wrong with that?

Has no correlation to modern times aka 2024.
