2016

First Test appearance in England after the spot fixing scandal.
A better quality Test Match.
Pakistan batting first and winning in 4 days.
A Test win that helped Pakistan top the Test rankings the following month.
A 42 year old Captain scoring a century on the opening day
A legspinner taking 10 wickets in the game.

2018

Early Season.
Younger team.
Anderson and Stokes played unlike 2016.
Bowling first and won in 4 days.
But England had a shocking Test.

Such a shame in both instances Pakistan followed it up with a weak performance in the following Test and weren't able to capitalise on going 1-0 up. England bounced back emphatically to level the series in the second Test.

I loved the 2016 test. That hundred by Misbah was a quality knock and then the push-ups. Great memories for Pakistan.

I personally didn't like the press ups.
It just didn't suit his personality as a no nonsense, fully serious and responsible individual.
Rather than the focus being on how well he played, or how good a player he was or how important a figure he had been for the team the focus was on his press ups and how he celebrated in such a strange fashion when it came to the UK press. A few England players thought it was cringey too.

Interesting. Many people were questioning if Misbah is good enough to play test cricket as he was 40 then. So, he did that push-ups celebration but it was fun. Honestly speaking, I never felt that it looks cringey or classless and that doesn't go with Misbah's character also. Anyways, it was a good game in terms of quality and a very good win for Pakistan.

2018 for me - especially as it was done with a young team

Oh this is a close one...

Still I’d choose the 2016 one.

What a memorable series.

Really we were underdogs in 2018 - so to win that match in the way we did was amazing

2016 for me. Had the perfect setup and was on a bigger scale than 2018. We had the limelight in 2016. In 2018, the focus was around the impending series against India.

Agree. We had a fairly young team and nobody expected us to win a Test match in May.

However the 2016 one, in my opinion, has something more special...

Misbah-ul-Haq and his press-ups was a tribute to the army after the training with then from what I recall . It was a unique iconic moment which was acknowledged world wide .

I recall Atherton saying “ remarkable player , remarkable man “ after Misbah did the press-ups . Great knock great moment .

The 2009 T20 World Cup victory was the most memorable moment I have seen happening at lords.
