[VIDEOS] "Mentally and skill wise I have all it takes to play for Pakistan": Omair Bin Yousuf

This doesn't even make sense? Omair is a red ball player? Just because he hit a few shots in acc doesn't make him whiteball material.

I'm not saying he can't become an all format player in the future, but neither shabzada nor omair deserve to be in whoteball especially t20 lol.

They should be drafted in tests only replacing Abdullah and Shan

I think he can play in odis and tests but t20 isn't his format.

Maybe in pdi but I've seen Shabzada farhan and Omair in red ball. Their gun batters but shabzada is very bad in whiteball and omair so far seems promising but isn't their yet.

Don't know why he was selected for T20's.

He should only have a chance of representing Pak in Tests only

He may develop his white ball game, but currently he is a massive liability in limited overs

Worth a shot after the way he batted when promoted to open in the emerging Asia cup

I think Omair needs a test series at home or in asia conditions.

Omair Bin Yousuf media talk at National Bank Stadium ahead of Pakistan's T20I series against Australia:

"We've tried to use all the facilities provided to us to prepare. During recent ODI match between Australia and Pakistan, we saw that good short-of-length deliveries were being bowled, so we've tried to practice that here as much as possible."

"Since marble surfaces were available, we practiced on them, aiming to get better with short-pitched balls, as we’ll need to execute this preparation in Australia. The goal is to make our practice here as effective as possible, so we can execute our plans well over there. There’s great competition in the Pakistan team; my goal is to perform well and contribute as much as I can, staying in the team and helping it win consistently."

"Marble practice helps because the ball comes at you faster and bounces more than on a normal pitch. Since Australia has more bounce and pace, practicing on marble gives us an advantage and helps us get used to those conditions. I think this kind of preparation is essential before going there."

"I’ve played at various positions domestically, so my goal is to contribute to the team in any role I’m given. I don’t focus much on specific batting positions; what matters to me is finding ways to help the team."

"After a wicket falls, it’s crucial not to let the run rate drop too much, especially with the modern game where high scores are common. However, the situation on the ground dictates play. The batter has to assess which bowler to attack and which to play carefully, so it really depends on the match scenario."

"While there isn't any particular Australian player I’m specifically eager to face, I have always enjoyed watching their cricket. Playing on such a big stage naturally comes with some pressure, especially since this will be my first experience there. Handling pressure is part of the preparation, as we train ourselves mentally along with physical skills."

"Even though I say I can bat at any position, I do have my preferred spots. For instance, I feel most comfortable in the top order, like opening or at one-down. However, I’m ready to play wherever the team needs me. In domestic cricket, I've batted in every position from one to six and even scored a fifty batting at six, so I’m flexible."

"I’ve seen Australia's squad, and it has a mix of experienced and newer players, similar to our team. I haven’t done specific preparation yet, as I’d need to see their videos to study the bowlers properly. Once we’re there, we’ll get a better idea of who we’ll face and prepare accordingly."
