[VIDEOS] Mohammad Hasnain : International cricket performance watch

Haris Rauf should have been given a chance.Amir should have been rested. He is not very effective on these dead wickets. Also a couple of spinners should have been selected.Yasir Shah is a test bowler.Imad is a bits and pieces player.

Good pace throughout his spell. Signs of reverse-swing too.

The kid did well.

Excellent bowling from husnain. He should play last three odis to check his match fitness.

The teen tearaway who rattled Aussies

Not much has fazed Australia’s top order through two matches against Pakistan, but Mohammad Hasnain has come as close as anyone to doing so and the teenage speedster’s exhilarating debut spell could be the spark Pakistan desperately needs.

Fast-bowling prospects do not come any rawer onto the international stage than Hasnain, who had never played a domestic one-day game yet alone an ODI before Sunday's match against Australia in Sharjah.

But the 18-year-old not only showed why Pakistan have fast-tracked him into the national setup at such a young age, he genuinely hurried Australia's top order and looked far likelier to find a way through than his more experienced teammates.

Having hit a top speed of 151kph in his breakout Pakistan Super League campaign and labelled by Shane Watson as the fastest teenage bowler he'd seen, Hasnain had huge raps on him.

But the youngster nicknamed 'Rockets' by Pakistan's coaching staff lived up to the billing as he had Australia's otherwise untroubled opening pair ducking, weaving and even landed a couple of body blows.

Hasnain stared Usman Khawaja down after his first ball in international cricket went whistling past the Aussie's ears. Another bouncer clattered into the helmet of Finch, who later copped one to the groin off the inside edge.

Hasnain's fierce spell sparked a subdued Sharjah crowd into excitement and prompted some choice words from Umar Akmal to Finch during an otherwise uninspired Pakistani effort in the field.

"He bowled really well," said wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. "He is a young guy and he just came from the PSL, he's a new find who can hit 145(kph)-plus. They take time (to develop).

"The batsmen from Australia – Aaron Finch and Khawaja – he bounced them really well. I was far (back) from the wickets because (Hasnain's bouncers) are going fast."

He finished as the game's fastest bowler.

Hasnain’s fiery introduction to the top flight couldn't halt Australia from rattling to a second consecutive victory, but it did leave the visitors’ with an extra factor to consider for the final three games of the series.

"He had decent pace, he was bowling a down a big breeze so that helped him a bit," said Khawaja, who noted they'd still taken him for six runs-per-over despite his impressive start.

"He was on debut too, so he probably had the adrenaline going also. He looked like a good bowler, he had a bit of pace on him. You've got to respect those bowlers sometimes."

Whether Hasnain is too green for the pressures of a World Cup remains to be seen, but the right-armer could give coach Mickey Arthur something to ponder should he continue to impress with the likes of Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi sitting out the ongoing series.

One of Hasnain's idols is Waqar Younis, who first came across Hasnain two years ago after being shown mobile phone footage of him, and the Pakistan legend said on commentary the youngster should have been given the new ball.

While Waqar suggested he can still improve the efficiency of his run-up, the pace legend tipped him for big things.

"He's got a very strong action, he's fit," said Waqar. "He's got a big future in front of him."

I like this guy but he shouldn't be part of this pathetic bowling lineup which inspires no confidence. He deserves to be the part of a better bowling lineup especially in his initial days.

He should be in the Playing XI on 16th June at Old Trafford. Him and Shaheen will wreck havoc on the bouncy track!

Mohammad Hasnain has pace but needs to learn to be a better bowler

The emergence of some really excellent young fast-bowlers at the 2019 PSL was very encouraging and here I would like to mention Mohammad Hasnain in particular. When I first saw him bowl, I straight away commented that he deserved a place in the Pakistan international side and thankfully, he will be featuring for Pakistan in the ODI series against Australia. This is in line with our tradition of giving raw-fast-bowling talent a chance to play international cricket so his inclusion in the ODI squad is very heartening. We must now, not fall in the trap of insisting that Hasnain should be working to improve his pace as he has enough pace in his arsenal. What he needs to concentrate on is over management, and if he does play the 4-Day or Test version of the game then he has to work upon spell management as well. But most of all, what he needs to be taught is on setting up a batsman so that he can get him out. So, for example, he needs to know when to use the bouncer, the inswinger or the slower one and against what type of batsman. This is what he needs to be helped on instead of stressing on his pace which we already know he has.

=====

Above from Aamir Sohail - important that someone helps him out here

Speeds that I saw today.

First over 138.2, 141.4, 141.5, ?, 141.1, 140.7, 141.1
Second over 143.8, 143.6, ?, 141.4, ?, 147.3

He needs coaching and guidance right now or else he 'll become a trundler and try to cut his pace to get wickets..... I got no hope on Azhar to coach him. Waqar/Wasim please help him or else he 'll disappear.

He got wickets in PSL because of pace and his confidence. If not properly coached he 'll lose his confidence which ll be very bad.

Needs proper coaching. He is a good prospect. He got hammered in the 3rd over and then Malik brought him back in 43rd over and Maxwell was on a roll. He must play remaining two games or his confidence will be shattered.

Today's wicket was too slow (Pakistan did that to slow Auses down, we cannot score more than 280 on regular wicket and they can chase 280 down in like heart beat)...His extra pace was nullify on this pathetic track. WC is not going to be play on such embrassing wickets...We are not going to produce fast bowler in UAE, this has been going on for 10 years now. We are running down fast bowlers, either they become trundlers or go off the radar. On Domestic we have same policy, green and wet wickets, they produce trundlers like Abbas... This is no way of producing world class player...We cannot produce bowlers like Yasir and Abbas, one cannot bowl fast, other cannot spin the ball

Local oneday tournaments are held on pretty flat wickets, he should play more matches of 50 over format and few four day matches in my opinion

Second over

141kph, 142.2 kph, 143.2, 143.1,144.7

Consistently over 140

Glad that he got his first wicket. Getting better every game.

He is a special talent should remain with the team even if he doesn't play.

This series has shown fast-tracking doesn't always work. Pace is there but not the wickets.

Should go play 2-3 seasons of domestic cricket, maybe even get a county deal or play in English league cricket.

I am impressed by his stamina .he bowl one delivery in 147 kph that too in his 8th over which is pretty good considering he is playing 50 over cricket first time also back to back 3 matches for him.

Express bowler needs support from other end unfortunately he did not get any support from others.also uae is not the place to judge express bowler .

We have one dimensional bowling lineup which need one express bowler .Husnain have strong case and can perform better with hasan and shaheen àt his helm.

Another chance to impress and see if he can match Archer...

1st over against England: 87.6mph, 87.8mph, 87.9mph, 86.5mph, ?, 76.9mph, 88.5mph

After seeing all the buzz around Hasnain and Shaheen Afridi’s ‘pace’ who between them might clock once or twice at 90mph in the tournament, makes you appreciate what a privilege it was to see some genuine quicks like Waqar , Donald, Shoaib, Brett Lee back in the day.

Don't see anything great about Mohammad Hasnain, looks at an average bowler with high pace and zero control. Bowling cross seam because he is nervous, but doesn't look in rhythm.

Such is the situation in Pakistan that any bowler with half a brain cell and pace is considered to be a fast bowler.

He's overdoing the slower ball.

His slower-ball is telegraphed and easy for the batsman to read, because he changes his action slightly. If I were him I'd only bowl the slower ball now and then.

2nd over against England: 88.5mph, 88mph, ?, 89.6mph, 89.4mph, 88.4mph

Extremely overrated.

Can't believe Shinwari, who out bowled Junaid and Hasnain vs Australia, isn't in the side.

3rd over against England: ?, 88.3mph, 87.8mph, 89.8mph, 86.7mph, 84.5mph

He has pace but with pace you need all around talent.

I think he is raw.

Is this a joke . He is bowling like Mohammad Sami used to. Fast and brainless short balls

4th over: 90.0mph, 83.7mph, 90.7mph, 90.4mph, 90.9mph, 89.7mph

Was the most economical fast bowler so bowled decently. But doesn't look like a wicket taker.

Sarfraz insisted on his selection. Don't mind him playing a meaningless one off T20 but doesn't look ready for regular international cricket. We should play the other pacers in the ODIs.

He can bowl 100 mph but still went wicketless as usual.

I don't like the release on his delivery, he seems to cup the ball with his fingers which probably restricts speed and any swing. No surprise he's not getting wickets with that action.

The people that couldn't help Amir, will probably not do much for Hasnain as well.

It is good that he is bowling quick but Pakistan need people who pick wickets. You don't need another bowler who goes for 5 an over and gets 1 wicket in 10 overs. You have Amir for that already.

I am a bit disappointed with Hasnain. I think team management, especially Azhar, has gone into his head. He is not bowling fast - he is bowling well within himself. Balls are slightly short of length.

His job is to go all our fast and search for wickets. Azhar will destroy him by making him into a medium pacer.

well, if you listened to inzamam's press conference, hasnain was picked as a surprise package to blow over afghanistan, bdesh, sri lanka and west indies that do not have genuine fast bowling options and are susceptible to getting out to short balls and pace (WI less so).

He is unlikely to win us games by himself against top teams. he will be used in bursts for short balls, and yorkers...

Good explanation. Yes I agree , he can be a real surprise package against us. Our batsmen won't feel comfortable against 145 plus cage bowler

I was very surprised by his t20 spell on Sunday. Against Aus he was bowling much faster - Finch was consistently outdone by Hasnain' s pace. Finch was in fact very late on several shots.

On Sunday Hasnain bowled a good 7-8mph slower than he did v Aus and in the PSL. Not impressed at all and at this rate, dropping Shinwari looks a mistake. Let's see if Hasnain pace goes up at all.

I never bashed him. I've rated him as one of the best I've ever seen from Pakistan . Hasnain is not that impressive imo.

I wasnt specifically talking about you. I was just referring to the fact most of the people are too early to judge.

Let's see how he develops, to me he looks one with lot of potential but hasn't unearthed it yet and could take some time. It would have been ideal had he played the entire last year for us and not so less that he has actually done.

Reading some of the comments above, you really have to feel for the kid. Guy is just 19, has played a few games and people are writing him off. This is a big learning curve for him. He has bowled quite well and will get only better. He bowled first against Australia who just came to UAE after defeating India and now he is bowling to England, probably the best team in the World atm. Give him some space.
