[VIDEOS] Pakistan Air Force Appreciation Thread - One of the best air forces in the world

One of the very few things we can be proud of.

Even then you are dependent on others to provide the planes and their parts. Wasn't there a case where the US withheld F-16s which had been paid for due to some unrelated dispute some time back?

During benazir govt back in 90s. Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada that died a few weeks ago in an attack was serving as military attaché in US at that time and he was sacked and forced to leave Washington there was a lot of stuff going on behind the scene that he described later in an interview during Mush era.

Here is the full interview http://antisystemic.org/satribune/www.satribune.com/archives/july27_02_02/isi_whistle_blower.htm

To be fair no one makes fighter jets like the Americans and Europeans (with the Russians slightly behind) so if you want the best tech you have to be reliant on some country or the other.

The most elite commando team that can run 20 miles with full gear in 15 seconds, dodge every 3rd bullet shot at them and go through walls with doors in them combined with one of the best airforces in the world makes us teh most winnar.

It is good to be patriotic and nationalistic up to a certain level but anything which blinds beyond reality is also not healthy.

On what basis is the Pakistani army or air force rated as one of the best in the world? What recent war's has the army ever been involved in?

In our entire history we humiliatingly lost the 1971 war.

The US army has always mentioned its concerns over the quality and training of the Pakistani army when dealing with the Taliban, Al Qaeda in the Tribal areas.

LOL bro 1965 , 1971 we dominated the air fight while in 1971 the suituation was quite opposite on the ground fight and on 1965 it was almost even. go and check out the air history of Pakistan.

Rahe baat SSG ki to Pakistan won gold medal in Cambrian Patrols held in UK almost soldiers from top defence countries particapted it was Aus and Pak who only got gold medals while indian and usa got silver

Pakistan before APS attack wanted table talks with taliban so that the matter can be solved easily but after APS attack Pak army started action against them and now the result is infront of u.and in 2014 SSG was ranked 8th most elite force int he world while there wasn't any force from our neighbours. and this report was published by UK or US i dont remember properly

Last but not the least: “A Russian President once said that if he had Pakistan’s army and Russian weapons he could conquer all the world because they are very brave." he said this after battle of hill 3234 against soviet union in afghanistan.

I agree that Pak air force was one of the best in past; for example MM Alam and there was a air Marshal who learn F-16 in record time forgot his name.

But is Pak air force still that good? Or they have also deteriorated just like other things in Pakistan?

Two examples..

1. Pakistani pilot shot down a record 5 Indian planes in a single dog fight
2. During the Arab-Israel war the only planes that Israel lost was to Syrian planes flown by Pakistani pilots

The US should question its own operational capability since even after 14-15 years in Afghanistan they haven't been able to defeat the Taliban.

We honour our defenders and we honour our Shaheeds

This thread is dedicated to them

Lets stick to that theme.

With IAF moving to induct Rafale squadrons. I feel PAF should look to manufacture it's own version of Chengdu J20. We can't get loads due to the cost but should at least aim to get a handful of these bad boys.

PAKISTAN OPERATIONALISES ‘TANK-KILLER’ BAYRAKTAR TB-2 DRONE

The Pakistan Air Force has operationalised the Bayraktar TB-2 medium altitude long endurance (MALE) tactical UCAV armed drone for service. An initial batch of the drone and all associated equipment were procured in mid-2021 by Pakistan in a deal with Baykar Defence of Turkey, which also included joint production and development of the larger Anka-S MALE UCAV drone and its future variants.
The TB-2 is a MALE UCAV drone capable of a 27 hour endurance and a flight ceiling of 25,000 feet. The MTOW of the drone is 1,430 pounds, enabling it to carry a variety of ATGMs, air to ground precision munitions and rockets on its four hard points. The TB-2 also provides excellent Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities with a variety of electrooptical paylods. An onboard avionic suite with a triple redundant avionic system encompasses units enabling a fully autonomous taxiing, take-off, landing and cruise.
The TB-2 has SATCOM capabilities as well as datalink (300 km range) and has a 150 kg weapons capacity. The SATCOM full range of the drone is not available publicly but rumoured to be 1000 km. The drone also has excellent ECCM capabilities, being able to subdue and resist Russian electronic warfare attacks in Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh. The standard avionics payload configuration includes an electro-optical (EO) camera module, an infrared (IR) camera module, a laser designator, a laser range finder (LRF) and a laser pointer. The TB-2 also has an option to integrate Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR) and an AESA radar for airborne surveillance purposes. Standard weapons include 4 MAM-L and MAM-C highly precise GPS/INS guided smart munitions with 8-14 km ranges.
The TB-2 has completed over 400,000 operational flight hours. The TB-2’s anti-armour capabilities are extremely combat proven and extensive. During wartime, the TB2 could survey and detect enemy mechanised formations, air defence sites and troop concentrations either through its signals intelligence arsenal or the impressively long range of its EO/IR sensor (believed to be over 75km against targets such as vehicles), which would then be engaged either directly by TB-2s, or the information could be relayed via datalink to Pakistan's other strike options such as the Fateh-1 long range guided MLRS. The TB-2 provides the PAF with a highly effective & combat proven tactical unmanned ISTAR+strike platform, especially for penetrating air defences and conducting strikes on both enemy air defence infrastructure and equipment and the integrated battle groups they are protecting.

“ During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, Alam scored an "ace in a day" on 7 September 1965, with a total of 5 kills. His actions have placed him at the top of the hall of fame list at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Museum in Karachi. During the war, he was posted at Sargodha.

According to the PAF, in a single sortie on 7 September 1965, Alam downed five aircraft with four in less than a minute, establishing a world record.[10][11][12][13] Regarding the last four, he stated: "Before we had completed more than about [sic] 270 degrees of turn, at around 12 degrees per second, all four Hunters had been shot down."[11] In 1978, when he gave a speech at a Karachi university, he said that he saw a spiritual force coming from the sky.[14]

His claims has been contested by the Indian Air Force, which denied losing five Hawker Hunter aircraft on the said day,[13] and others including retired PAF Air Commodore Sajad S. Haider.[15][16] Also, the fact that no verifiable gun camera footage of his kills was ever made public by the Pakistani authorities, further discredits his claim.[17]”
