Hopefully he won’t be another drama like Hasnain. It is hard to expect anything from Pakistani players these days.

I don't think anyone has been this hyped up ahead of a debut, in our history, or was anyone else hyped up like him before?
Mohammad Sami may have been. There was a fair bit of hype around Amir too.
I wasn't really following cricket back then as there was no way to in New Zealand and I was really young, but was Amir hyped before he debuted or after he debuted. Naseem has been being hyped since last year, not just by fans, but by the NCA and now by Cricket Australia. This is certainly the first time I have ever seen a player getting so much hype before his debut, not just by fans, but by cricket professionals too.
Yeah was pretty young myself back then and wasn't on PakPassion so can't really say for sure. I do remember my family being excited when a 17 year old Amir was picked in the WT20 squad in 2009, so I'm sure there was at least some hype prior to his debut as well.
Apparently was in tears when WY gave him his test cap. Bechara man, this all must be so exhausting and sad for him. I don’t think it will hit him fully once he lands back in Pakistan.
Could be bowling this evening....
SO many people over here were saying they reckon Naseem is at best a 135-140 kph bowler. So far he hasn't bowled a single ball under 142 kph and has crossed 147 multiple times.
I was one of those. Must say I'm surprised. Its still not enough to trouble top order bats. Realistically, he is 18-19 years old. S its likely he won't put on more pace.
But a great action and if he learns to hit the right lengths, move the ball and can reverse the ball (like he has done in those YT vids) he can be a top-tier Test bowler.
Usually pacers keep increasing in pace until they are in their mid 20s. I reckon he will bowl better in his next spell or next game, sometimes bowlers on debut can have a lot of nerves.

what great do you find in the action. It isnt half as smooth as Waqar
he is an unusual faaaaaaaaaaaaaaasht bowler

looks like a quicker Tanveer Ahmed action.
Is this the raw pace because of which he was picked for Test cricket. Do you feel a new Waqar is in the making![]()
Hasnain is no drama he has huge potential ...you dont find pace hanging from trees...he needs to sort his run up and inshallah you see then.
Its about the batters i dont see anybody surviving starc or cummins unfortunately
Nobody said it is smooth as Waqar. But there is no doubting it is a beautiful action.
Never thought I would say this, but this kid would thrive so much better with Indian team management. If ordinary Indian bowlers can look like world beaters under Kohli and Bharat Arun, imagine what he is capable of doing.
Any news on him as he trudged off before close of play today and commies were saying it could be a hamstring injury for the kid.
I did not watch his spell much but what were his speeds like? Only saw the one over he bowled in the end with 140kph was his fastest.
As expected he lost some pace final season but still was hitting low 140 consistently. Imran not being able to do the donkey work hurt Naseem returns in the end as he had to bowl one spell too many. From what I saw, he crossed 147 KPH multiple times and topped out at 148.1 KPH.
Although, I did miss the last session, so I'm not sure if he went past that mark.

He is sharp, and will trouble batsmen as long as he bowls 90mph spells. However, not being tall enough is real disadvantage for his later spells unless he shows an ability to reverse swing like Shami.
