Strike rate is a problem for Pakistan in whole men or women. As a nation, we don't fully grasp its importance, nor do we understand concepts like the powerplay. We tend to treat T20 matches simply as a shorter version of ODIs.
SR, fitness and intent is a general problem in both genders.

The women's side is worse though as they've been struggling for many many years and there's been no improvement in their games.

Not having many players to pick from no domestic cricket for the girls at any level also hampers their growth.

Mohammad Amir, Azhar Mahmood and Wahab Riaz were spotted watching the 3rd T20I between Pakistan and England.

Amir seems to be always wearing his desert vipers cap everywhere off the field to top it off with a hoodie while the other 2 feel the opposite.

England Women: 176-10 (20 ov)

Pakistan Women: 142-4 (20 ov)

England Women beat Pakistan Women by 34 runs to complete the three-match T20I series sweep at Headingley on Sunday. England racked up 176 on the board and then defended it with ease restricting Pakistan to 142-4 in 20 overs. Danni Wyatt’s 87 off 48 balls was the difference between the two sides.

In pursuit of the 177-run target, opening batters, Gull Feroza (30, 29b, 5x4s) and Sidra Amin (26, 29b, 5x4s) provided a steady start with a 60-run opening stand. Sidra’s departure initiated a mini collapse as Feroza, Sadaf Shamas (6, 7b, 1x4) and Muneeba Ali (3, 6b) returned for low scores leaving Pakistan 73-4 in 11.4 overs.

With 104 runs required in 50 balls, Pakistan could only manage 69 more runs as Aliya Riaz (35 not out, 27b, 4x4s) and Nida Dar (29 not out, 24b, 3x4s, 1x6) chipped in with spirited batting efforts. Despite the two experienced batters throwing punches in an unbeaten 69-run stand, England managed a 34-run win.

Earlier, after England opted to bat first Maia Bouchier (8, 14b) and Wyatt provided a 36-run opening partnership. Wyatt, in the meanwhile, looked in good touch as she hit four boundaries scoring the bulk of the 40 runs that England notched in the powerplay.

Heather Knight and Wyatt stitched a 59-run third-wicket partnership with the latter being the aggressor contributing 47 off 19. Wyatt brought up her half-century off 34 balls in the 11th over, ransacking 20 runs against Nida.

Diana Baig brought an end to Wyatt’s onslaught who had raced to 87 off 48 balls with the help of twelve fours and one six. Nida dismissed her counterpart while Sidra run-out Capsey as the double strike in the 15th over meant England were reduced to 122-5.

While England lost regular wickets, Amy Jones (26, 15b, 4x4s) kept the innings intact and helped her team post 176 all out. Diana was the pick of Pakistan bowlers, returning figures of 3-26 in her four overs. Nida too picked up three wickets while Fatima Sana removed one batter.

Scores in brief:

Earlier on the tour, both sides had featured in three T20Is, which were won by the hosts 3-0.

Unconvincing England win series opener against Pakistan

England comfortably beat Pakistan by 37 runs, despite a sub-par performance in an underwhelming one-day international series opener in Derby.

Chasing 244, Pakistan were well set for a surprise victory at 149-4 but fell short despite a spirited effort to reach 206-9 from 50 overs.

Sophie Ecclestone starred with 3-26, with two wickets apiece for fellow spinner Charlie Dean and seamers Lauren Bell and Kate Cross.

Despite a comprehensive margin of victory, England were unconvincing as plenty of batters made starts but failed to kick on in their 243-9.

Six batters reached 20, with Alice Capsey's 44 the top score, but none were able to convert to a half-century.

On a sluggish pitch and outfield that was impacted by the week's rain, Pakistan utilised their plethora of slow bowlers to frustrate England and restrict their ability to play with their desired aggression.

The preceding T20 series, which England swept 3-0, saw Pakistan fail batting second in each game but they showed improved grit and skill in the longer format amid ill-discipline from Heather Knight's side, who conceded 31 in wides.

Captain Nida Dar added stands of 38 and 32 with Muneeba Ali, who made 34, and Aliya Riaz, who made 21, to give England a slight scare in a flat middle-over phase before the lower order unravelled as the hosts closed in on victory.

The three-match ODI series continues at Taunton on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Nida Dar won the toss and elected to bat first fielding an unchanged XI. Pakistan’s opening batters, Sadaf Shamas (18 not out, 28b, 2x4s) and Sidra Amin (7 not out, 13b) put on an unbeaten 29 for no loss in 6.5 overs before the rain arrived.

Playing her first ODI of the three-match series, Lauren Filer conceded 18 runs in her three overs while Kate Cross had bowled one maiden out of the 3.5 overs she sent down giving away 11 runs.

England had clinched the opening ODI at Derby while the last game will be played at Chelmsford on 29 May.

bit premature but I went off after this at 48/3 :
Dean to Najiha Alvi, no run
Given! Lovely off break, sneaks past the inside edge and into the pads. Out on the field but it has been reviewed... and rightly so! Bouncing over the stumps is the predicted path

Nat Sciver-Brunt's stunning century led England to a 178-run thrashing over Pakistan in the third one-day international at Chelmsford

The all-rounder struck 124 not out, including 14 fours and two sixes, which propelled England to an imposing 302-5.

Sciver-Brunt then claimed figures of 2-11, as Pakistan reached 124-9 in pursuit of an unlikely all-time record run chase, with captain Nida Dar unable to bat with an injury.

Only opener Muneeba Ali, with a composed 47, and Aliya Riaz's 36 offered any resistance for the visitors as Sophie Ecclestone took 3-15, including her 100th ODI wicket.

The comprehensive victory handed England a 2-0 win in the ODI series, ensuring the visitors end their white-ball tour without a win.

The gulf in class between the sides was most evident in this series finale, as Pakistan's fielding let them down amid a generally positive effort.

Opener Maia Bouchier made 34 but was dropped on 25, Amy Jones was dropped on six before making 27 and there was a double missed chance of a stumping and a catch when Sciver-Brunt was on 86.

The last was the most costly, as Sciver-Brunt and Alice Capsey, who made an unbeaten 39, launched a brutal onslaught of 47 runs from the last three overs.

England's home summer continues with another white-ball series against New Zealand starting in June, before the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in October.

Sublime Sciver-Brunt at her best

A washout at Taunton in the second ODI ensured England did not achieve a complete clean sweep of the series, but despite not losing a match, they came to Chelmsford still searching for a complete performance.

They were below-par in all departments in the first ODI at Derby, but led by Sciver-Brunt's brilliance, they saved their best until last.

The lack of top-order contributions is still a concern but Sciver-Brunt combined both class and patience to steady the innings in a fourth-wicket stand of 79 with Danni Wyatt, who played the role of aggressor with 44 from 42 balls.

There is always a sense of calmness and control when Sciver-Brunt is in the middle, as she played all around the ground, effortlessly toying with Pakistan's tired bowlers.

There were fluent cover drives, innovative ramps past the keeper to reach her century after overcoming a few overs of frustration, and brutal sixes down the ground in the death overs fireworks provided by her partnership with Capsey.

Her form in the 50-over format is staggering: since the start of 2022, she is averaging 67.71 with the bat including six centuries, and four of them unbeaten.

Making it through five overs with the ball as part of her comeback from injury will also be a huge boost for skipper Heather Knight, as she will hope to have her most valuable asset at full power for the World Cup.

Women playing today and the country's main sports channels PTV and Geo don't even cover their games.

This is how sad the state of women's cricket is in the country.

Probably it's time they PCB actually put women's cricket in the back bench and focus to restructure the overall sport in the country.

This is even beyond embarrassing to even follow by the scorecard. Teams like Nepal are even better than they have been.

Like men's team ,Pakistan women's team is collapsed badly and bundled out for just 108 runs

Pak women have beaten Indian women in only 3 games out of 24 games of ODI and T20Is combined.
Honestly, Indian women need more games against Aus and Eng regularly to improve. Asian women level is very low.

Pakistan were all out for 108. India are currently 58/0 in 7. Can't really call it a contest. The WPL has fundamentally changed Women's T20 cricket and Pakistan have been left far behind.

True. It also doesn't help matters that this present lot of Pakistani Female Cricketers feel they have an eternal annuity on getting selected for Pakistan. The entire squad is literally filled with Tried and Tested Failures and the reason given for their continued selection is that there arent enough women cricketers in the system, there is no out there to take their places which frankly is utter rubbish, no one is indispensable, i would prefer to lose with a raw playing eleven than a bunch of spoiled pampered over rated experienced non improving bunch

Pakistan Men have 2 wins in the last 10 games i believe. Ratio is still better and games are still competitive you would not like to see the one sided scores of women cricket.

PCB needs to launch female PSL for their women team to be competitive.

The Women's PSL will be a flop project. Right now there are only around 20-25 female cricketers in Pakistan and the present tried and tested bunch keeps getting selected because there are no alternatives and the PCB hasn't really bothered to recruit, get more female cricketers into the system. The PCB recently increased the budget for female cricketers from Rs 7 crores to Rs 24 crores.

Women's cricket is at an inflexion point right. It's only a year or two old so it's possible to catch up if Pakistan makes a consistent effort. I won't bring up Australia and England because they've long had a tradition of women's sport which we in the subcontinent don't but Indian women's cricket is steadily professionalising. The WPL of course but almost all the Ranji teams have added Women's teams. The Women's Domestic One Day trophy started only in 2006/07 but now there are 30+ state teams competing and the pool for selection is expanding.

It's possible to be competitive in women's cricket with a pool of 300-400. You don't need 1000+. That much Pakistan can still manage with a good academy and some professionalism in selections. The will has to be there though. Else @Deewana Mastana is right. Better to just soft quit the sport rather than get humiliated.

Then female Pak cricketers should look for stints in Australia and England. That will help a lot.

You have to perform to get stints and be in demand. Sadly our female cricketers just dont have it. No one will make a single international side.

They are all winners because they already made it out of the kitchen and represented their nation.

Much respect for Pakistani women’s cricket team. Wishing them the best.

Pak women are far far better than those.

India women are way ahead of Pakistan women atm. So there is no real fuss about this win. It was always on the cards

BTW indian women do not like Tuba I guess. LOL

She conceded the most runs by a Pakistani bowler in a spell in the Women's Asia Cup against India 2 times.
