LAHORE: Punjab police’s uniforms might have been changed by there doesn’t seem to be much hope for a change in their attitude.

Another incident of police brutality surfaced on Monday when a rickshaw driver in Lahore’s Garhi Shahu area was beaten up by a police officer.

The rickshaw driver Arif said that the officers wanted a free ride for a fellow on his rickshaw but when he denied it to them, they resorted to violence.

The police officers then tried to flee the scene but were caught by the citizens.

This is disgusting and shows what Punjab Police is about!

Has the CM that Mamoon loves so much taken notice. When you have been in power for 30 years and a Police slaps a member of the public, it shows your institutions are not only broken, they are a mafia.

Think answer to that will be 'he cannot be everywhere all the time'.

So why not create institutions that can work without him turning up everywhere for publicity to show gullible idiots that he cares. But that would require merit not personal loyalty.

Sorry - my reply was a sarcastic one!

Basically there is NO EXCUSE for anything that fails under your watch as a leader.

Horrible.

Just out of interest what kind of police officer was he? That's an unusual uniform.

Phone cameras are a great boon for the citizens of third world countries, the police will have been able to get away with this sort of bullying for decades in Pakistan, now they are at least being exposed. What will be done about it is another matter, but at least it's out there.

Imran's PTI reformed the KP police and on the other side Shahbaz changed the uniform of Punjab police :)))

Apparently the offending officer has been arrested.

Its because of IK dharna that this happened

When the face and aggression of the police resemble that of goons, how can the public perceive them as their protectors?
