[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Talent Spotter : Kamran Ghulam

while all the other u19 talents like babar, zafar, sami, nawaz etc were playing in like every other domestic competition.

this guy totally disappeared from pakistan. you wont get selected unless you play some domestic.

really disappointed with him. had high hopes for him.

Kamran has had a shoulder injury and that's why he's not been playing much cricket of late.

He's fully fit now and will be playing domestic cricket this season.

I think from the matches I've seen I think Mukhtar Ahmed is a better batsman than kamran. Kamran is just a hard hitter without sensible cricket :afridi. But Kamran's bowling might just compete with Mukhtar

Bilawal hit him on the hand hope there's no injury :(
Bilawal is very abrasive juggatbaaz :)

Doesnt look good to eyes... plus his height is not good enough to be a good late order hitter....
I was fairly disappointed looking at him in the recent match.. had great expectations tho

I rate HASHAM2 as one of the best here at pp identifying future potential players.
Kamran ghulam is a very gritty cricketer.
He is courageous allrounder.
Only left arm baller I have seen in Pakistan who balls carrom ball aswell.
He should keep working hard as he will be in contention soon , he needs to become the best allrounder in the coming fc season of 2015-2016. We play most of our cricket in Asia so we prefer spin bowling allrounders here . There are two worthy options Imaad Wasim, kamran ghulam. Zafar gohar seems to have potential with bat but strangely he has not scored many runs in last 2years. I have a feeling kamran will get into Pakistan A team soon.

Bowling beautifully rn.

Best thing about him is his fitness. Check his physique out here:

Soooo, do you rate him or nah? And pretty weird you have this pic of him.

Tbh I saw him in World Cup and he was a total failure. But I've been told by some players he's a real talent with bat.

Today watched him bowl and was v impressed.

And relax, I just copied the link from online into this thread.

Hes really talented, reminds me a lot of eoin morgan has similar height, body type and can hit it big like him

Can bowl really good off spin and is a genuine all-rounder

He can compete with hammad azam and mohammed Nawaz for # 7 spot or he can play in the middle order

Real talent, he should be playing T20 cricket for Pakistan. Get some exposure to international cricket

This Kid (unless health or discipline issues) is going to play long for pakistan I.A
1. Athletic fielder
2. Accurate bowler .
3. Only left arm baller in pakistan I have seen who balls a carrom ball/flicker like herath does
4. Only disadvantage in his bowling is that he isn't much tall so doesn't get bounce.
5. Hardworker.
6. Aggressive Brave Bighearted Batsman.

Pakistan has 3 , 4 options currently to replace slot of afridi and in future hafeez . Namely Imaad Wasim , mohammad Nawaz, kamran ghulam & bilal asif.
Bilal Spins big but under current ICC scanner and rules he is liable to getting reported for suspect action . Slight kink n flex in his action (hope it's within 15 degrees )

Imaad is gritty performer with the bat , scores often but he may not give you good strike rate (current status may improve in future)

Nawaz is a very fine n attacking batsman but he isn't a regular bowler for NBP even in FC , rarely bowls . So not a complete allrounder but q very good batsman

So tough competition at the moment is between kamran ghulam & bilal asif and next FC season very imp for both of them

People Saad Nasim is a very bad bowler with no control will get smashed all over the place so do not count him as allrounder .

Lastly we have seen Hammad , we play most of out cricket in subcontinent , UAE , Zim or WI and Hammad is too low on pace bowls between 105kph to 125kph . Bats well though

Kamran Ghulam or Bilal Asif should be preferred , unless nawaz or imaad improve further . Imaad was wasted in T20's he should only be selected for either Odi cricket (if he bats in top 6 which is a least chance)
Or test cricket (as Hafeez's replacement and batting option at number 7 if we want to strengthen batting line up in foreign tours only)

Wesay I have derailed kamran ghulam's thread but didn't feel like creating one more new thread.

In U_19 he used to smash bowlers and score at very strike rate and was often compared with Afridi.

I believe he will be the superstar that we are desperately looking for.

He has afridi power but also a brain I think he's going to special

Afridi retires from ODIs and now Pakistan find Afridi's replacement in Kamran Ghulam with a big-hitter who can bowl spin :afridi

I want to see Kamran Ghulam in the ODI & T20I squads

Kamran Ghulam - Performance Watch Thread

This little dynamite has impressed me a lot! Solid batsman and with a positive attitude like Sarfaraz Ahmed! Had played Mohammad Amir well in the previous T20 domestic tournament as an opener!

He is also an economical left arm spinner! With a carom ball weapon!

He is also an energetic fielder! With good pair of hands!

In short, an impressive all round package for the future!

Looking forward to his domestic career and hopefully will make an international debut soon!

Surely, he is one of the prospect who will play for pakistan. Infact, he is the one who i think will replace Hafeez in the future.

Only left arm baller in pakistan who bowls a carrom ball . Good allrounder . Dalair . Good prospect .

Very good fielder and physically very fit and in shape .
Agree fully with zabalestmsm and LegbreakGoogly

He is a very good all rounder. Hopefully he will perform consistently and we will see him playing for Pakistan regularly

Fed up of seeing spinning allrounders from Pak but this guy is making me change my mind, excellent talent.

You can read my posts in this thread and other threads having posts about him in 2016.

Kamran Ghulam is a strong bottom hand batsman who has power in his shoulders, wrists and forearm.

He is not a dynamic versatile batsman but he isn't one trick pony like Khalid Latif.

In his first Fc season I think he averaged 45 plus with the bat and he was given decent run. This was 2-3 years ago and he batted in top 6.

Now in Last Fc season he represented Islamabad probably and was given only 1 or 2 matches.

Now the important thing is that He should be selected for Pakistan A and if he performs well against Top A sides than incase Nawaz fails to impress next in line should be Kamran.

Kamran's batting needs development. He needs to adjust his grip aswell as stance so that he can score more runs between point and mid off area.

As a bowler his only disadvantage is that he doesn't get enough bounce as a spinner but he bowls with good control and bowls a Carrom ball aswell which no other left arm spinner in pakistan bowls.

Personally in Champions Trophy and WC 2019 I would likely only 1 allrounder (sla) in playing eleven with Amad Butt as the other bowling allrounder. With Amir & Sohail our tail will be strong enough.

Coming back to Kamran he has played most of his cricket on lush green ground of Abbottabad so he is a natural diver in field and gives his all in fielding. Also from the under 19 batch Amad Butt and Kamran Ghulam are the top 2 guys who work very hard on their physical fitness.

Dropping Kamran from PSL was a terrible move.

thanks for ur insight...i will just aid one thing i know him ,he is fro dir<khas> in my area and usually people from his area are strong built naturally...so his fitness may be something in his DNA...

and yes misbah did bad to him by not picking him this year..last year he was not used proprly...may be isd was under pressure so they were not ready to give him consistent chances or to experiment eith him...he played one odd game and failed but i think he ran one batsman out with his atheliticism..

Bhai jaan Misbah dropped Babar Azam after a couple of matches, Umar Amin and Kamraan Ghulam after one or two matches.

If you are under 30 and in Misbah's side then all you can do is pray to Allah, because there is no chance that a you will play under Misbah.

there was another fast bowling all rounder farhan nazar...checked his stats which are good...but didnt play this season..

agreed...i think he dropped haris sohail in 2013 even with good show in wi tour....i am worried amad butt will not get a game this year in psl...misbah has destryd many younsters ...

malik is the best regarding trying youngsters..

Poor Lad repeatedly getting ignored at all Levels.

Hope Abbotabad don't snub him for T20 tournament.

It's strange to not see him get more of an opportunity

He would make most domestic teams as a batsmen alone

do u think he has a remote chance to be picked in multan for psl??

He will most likely play for Abbotabad region in 16 team T20 tournament which will be televised. If he performs well I.A he will be in in reckoning. Should bat at 4 or 5 max for Falcons so that He gets the oppurtunity to impress people with the bat.

Hard worker he is so I.A he will make it.

Solid all-round performances by him in the Rising Stars tournament. He's really above this level, as is Zeeshan Malik.

As I have said before, I felt sorry for him when he was dropped after PSL 1. To add salt in the wound he wasn't even selected in the recent national t20 competition.

It's good to see him staying motivated and working hard.

Took another five-wicket haul in the semi final of LQ's Rising Stars tournament, but in a losing cause.

Rawalpindi really needed a couple of good bowlers, he was pretty much on his own.

Yes, they had some very good batsmen but their bowling was non-existent.

I'd heard a lot of good things about Bilal Shah Afridi but unfortunately he didn't do too well.

He was all over the place, probably cost them the match tbh. 38 runs in 2 overs :wahab2

Good work from 4:16-4:35 from Nazir to effect a run out.

Scored 72(98) vs Peshawar in Round 3 of QeA.

Also picked up a wicket but he is competing with Raza Hasan so didn't bowl all that much.

Hope Rashid Picks him in KK. KK needs a hard hitter down the order who can also bowls a bit, specially after the departure of Pollard this season.

He really is in rare form with the bat!

Scores a 50 in round 5 vs WAPDA.

Good to see him batting up the order at 4.
Abdullah719 is he not supposed to be in Sydney for the LQ tour?

Good point, not sure what happened with that.... The LQ squad has already reached Australia.

That's what I thought. Zeeshan and Saif have skipped QeA to go on the tour but it looks like Kamran is staying put. Maybe he has already "unofficially" agreed a deal with one of the franchises.

I asked Kamran about the LQ tour of Australia and he said that he had opted to stay and play in the QEA Trophy as he felt it was of more benefit to him for the future.

Good to see him hitting form in domestic cricket.

Looks to be a good decision as he's doing really well for NBP.

Hopefully some PSL team signs him up, he is easily better than Nawaz.

I really hope so. Deserves to be selected with his all-around performances.

If I remember correctly, I read somewhere he's a good fielder as well. So good all-round cricketer.

Out of all the left arm spin allrounders we have, Kamran has the highest ceiling as a batsman and bowler. He is the best fielder out of the lot as well

I hope this is his breakthrough season

Still baffles me how Imran Khalid was preferred over Kamran in PSL 1.

He's in decent form with the bat looks to be similar to Imad and Hafeez as an all rounder should play for Pakistan in the future.
Bowling wise darting it doesn't work well at Intl level will have to spin the ball.

guy has scored 356 runs in 8 innings with an average of 44.5 and bowled as well though not much wickets because raza hassan was also there but he scores with good strike rate.should be in psl and national t20 cup but have not seen his name in natiional t20 squads.he is suffering from belonging to small city phenomenon like sadaf hussain MMHS.

I agree he should be part of his national t20/PSL but bear in mind the draft was held before the QeA.

so basically it shows that this draft process is ridiculous thing..he has been decent in every opportunity he has been given.it can happen only in pak that he has not been picked in top 80 national t20 players.this guy hs higher ceilings than likes of nawaz and imad if given proper chances.and imad wasim recent QEA trophy performance is there to compare.plus he is super fit.

Done very good on the weekend as he scored 65 runs for Haslingden CC and had bowling figures of 11.2-3-18-5 as his team won easily.

Had a very good Sunday. Had bowling figures of 15-2-44-3 and scored 107 off just 83 balls with 15 4s and 1 maximum to set up an easy win for Haslingden CC.

Seems to have gone under the radar a little bit, but he starts the domestic season with a bang (following on from a successful season last year):

Scores 101* in the first round of QeA Trophy.

Then a day later in the first round of the QeA One Day Cup he scores a 28 ball 45* and takes 1-53 on a pitch where over 700 runs were scored.

Glad with his progress. Was unlucky to be dropped after just a few bad peformances in PSL.

Hasn't really kicked on. A 2nd spinner slot will be avaliabe so he needs to perform consistently now.
