[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Talent Spotter : Kamran Ghulam

He definitely should come into national reckoning now. Must surely be a better option than Nawaz in terms of batting ability. His first class record is fairly impressive too if he can make it as a batting all-rounder.

Very good option instead if nawaz but poor guy comes from kpk with no political connections.

Seems to have gone under the radar a little bit, but he starts the domestic season with a bang (following on from a successful season last year):

Scores 101* in the first round of QeA Trophy.

Then a day later in the first round of the QeA One Day Cup he scores a 28 ball 45* and takes 1-53 on a pitch where over 700 runs were scored.

Round Two of the one day cup vs Lahore Whites: 61 (49) and 7-1-20-2

Islamabad Region 120 all out in 30.4 overs: ( Kamran Ghulam 7-23)

Kamran Ghulam is only spinner in Pakistan who can bowl a knuckleball like Rangana Herath.

He is having an excellent season with both bat and ball.

Was unfairly dropped from PSL with very few chances.

He is far better than Imad and Nawaz, is super fit, athletic and brilliant fielder.

Inzamam-ul-Haq must keep an eye on this Lad.

Very impressive bat swing. Looks like a packet dynamo, short, but compact. Could be a very good player for LOs. Should have been picked for the A teams.

He's in very good form. He should be in the next ODI squad. I think he's ready for international cricket.

Miles better player then imad and Nawaz but since he's from kpk he doesn't get noticed also grandad misbah played him for 1 game in PSL then wasn't picked at all. Don't know how on Earth trash like rahat etc have been selected for the A team.

Wait what.... is the scorecard correct? So HBL scored nearly 900 runs and still the match was drawn. Surely some sense would have prevailed to declare earlier and get a result? Can't believe the type of planning that goes on in domestic cricket.

Don't see him being successful in international cricket based on his bowling. His bowling looks mediocre. However, his batting looks great with a very good bat swing. If he just focuses on his batting alone, he can easily supersede Azhar Ali.

If any left-arm spin bowler has to succeed in Pakistan, he has to follow the Abdur Rehman model i.e. bowling at speeds of 90ish KM/H and having the ability to turn the ball. If you don't have that and are loopy, you will be struggling mightily to get wickets in the UAE.

He has done better than many specialist bat.

He's a handy bowler in the shorter formats.

Another talent being wasted deserves to be in the Pakistan team ahead of mediocre players like nawaz and Imad. Typical Inzi and the selectors who don't have a clue what they doing ust busy filling their bellys.

Plays the ball close to his body and right under his eyes. Better than many in national side.
Also seems to have good arm ball.

I'm fed up of bits and pieces like Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf.

Fake swag does not compensate for lack of development since their debuts. Shadab averages 24 with the bat and 34 with the ball in ODIs v top teams whilst Faheem averages 12 and 61 respectively.

We need somebody for the #8 slot and it may be worth trying Kamran Ghulam.

Possible replacement for Hafeez for LQ. Can provide some solidity in the middle order and is a smart bowler too which means he can provide some much needed balance. Had some excellent knocks in the One Day Cup.
Saj how do you rate his chances?

Should have been there is first place. Don't know what guys like Madsen and Evans are doing in the PSL instead of young pakistani players.

glad his outstanding performances in domestic is not ignored .he is picked for khyber pakhtoon kwa first 11

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kamran Ghulam has been charged for a breach of PCB’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during his side’s second round first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy fixture against Sindh at the UBL Sports Complex.

Kamran was fined 40 per cent of applicable match fee for a level 1 offence relating to showing dissent an umpire’s decision.

The incident took place on the third ball of the 57th over of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa innings on Monday when Kamran displayed his reservation at the umpire’s decision after getting caught behind off Sohail Khan.

Kamran was charged for the violation of Article 2.8 by on-field umpires Qaiser Waheed and Saqib Khan.

Kamran pleaded guilty and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Nadeem Arshad and, as such, there was no need for a hearing.

On Day 1 of Round 3 of QeA20

Following Musadiq’s exit, Adil held Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s innings together as the 29-year-old right-handed batsman stroked a valiant 90 from 181 balls.

Over the course of his stay at the crease, which was studded with nine fours and two sixes, Adil also stitched a crucial 99-run stand for the fourth wicket with Kamran Ghulam, who made 175-ball 64, which included nine boundaries.

Has he stopped bowling?

Use to be pretty decent better then Imad and nawaz with the ball.

A decent AR but not international level. He isn't good enough in either batting or bowling yet. Time is on his side so he could get better, but he'd have to improve his batting massively.

Saw him at the Under 19 level and thought he and Zafar Gohar would go on to big things, but sadly it's not happened.

Age old story of Pakistan cricket.

On Day 2 of Round 4 of QeA20 for KP v CP:

Kamran Ghulam scored 43 runs from 115 balls with the help of six fours and a six.

From PCB report for Day 2 of QeA20:

The only notable resistance came from Kamran Ghulam and captain Khalid Usman, as both scored half-centuries.

Kamran, the 25-year-old right-handed batsman, registered his ninth half-century with the team’s top score of 67, which included nine fours. This was his third half-century in the ongoing season.

130* today in Round 6 of QeA

From PCB Report

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kamran Ghulam scored a brilliant 130 not out as his side were 292 for nine in 83.4 over against Balochistan.

The 25-year-old right-handed batsman has struck 14 fours and two sixes in the 227 balls he has faced to date. This is his first century of the 2020-21 season and fifth of his career.

Kamran and Rehan Afridi, who scored 58 off 91, added crucial 95 runs for the sixth wicket after pacers Khurram Shehzad and Umaid Asif reduced Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to 64 for five.

Seems like he's given up on bowling. Barely got a game last season. Good to see him do well. A very good batsmen.

In 7 years this lad has only played 26 first-class matches.

Pakistan cricket zindabad.

Hopefully he scores big runs to finish off the tournament hes perfect age to be in contention

He was making waves during u19 cricket, a hard hitting batsman who could also bowl, completely forgot about him but he's in the headlines now. Wouldn't mind if he got given a go in T20's and some dead rubbers in ODI's to see where he's at.

Not a good sign when a bowler makes hundred and a batsman takes 5-fer. He was a bowling allrounder in under 19 days .

Not sure where you got that from he was always a batting all rounder. Which batamen took 5fer.

Azhar Ali was also a bowler in his U19 days. Kamran hasn't bowled this season, he's playing as a batsman.

That is so ridiculous given that there were so many teams before. Unfortunately most of them were packed with parchis.

His bowling was pretty decent. Shouldn't completely give up on it. Bowling would also enhance his chances of Pakistan selection

Hope to see him more regularly in PSL

Looks technically quite proficient hopefully he can start bowling again was much better bowler then Nawaz and Imad he actually got it to turn.

Ended up on 153

Earlier, Kamran Ghulam added 23 runs to his overnight score of 130 as the middle-order batsman made 153 from 253 balls. His knock, which stretched over four sessions, included 18 fours and two sixes. He was dismissed by Khurram as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were bowled out for 320 in the first innings.

Kamran Ghulam's scores in this season's Quaid-e-Azam Trophy include 153, 67, 45, 43, 64, 42 and 51.

He's finally being given a proper chance after previously playing only 20 first-class matches in 7 years.

Ridiculous waste of a player, just because coaches didn't rate him.

124* now. Seems to be in great touch. Averaging 45+ in first class cricket as well, super impressive.

25-year-old Kamran Ghulam stroked his sixth first-class century to help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reach 260 for four in reply to Sindh’s 229 at the State Bank Stadium.

Kamran has struck 13 fours to date in a 241-ball innings and has added 50 runs for the unfinished fifth wicket with Rehan Afridi (30 not out). Prior to this, Kamran had put on 143 runs for the third wicket with Fakhar Zaman (62, 8x4, 139b) after his side was in some bother at 20 for two.

Hope this is a start of a decent first class career. I have a feeling that he’ll just end up being the next Fawad Alam.

Hopping for a double today.

He is technically the best bat in Pakistan after Babar hopefully he has a monster season and we see him in our top 6 for the South Africa test series.

156* at the moment

I think he’s one of those guys who would definitely have gone under the radar in the previous system. What an amazing season he’s having!

Would have liked a 200 here as that gets you noticed more.
But it's criminal how in the previous system he averaged 3 games a season looks the best domestic batsman out the 35 member squad in NZL

Kamran Ghulam always excited me ri8 from his u19 days.....also another 3 guys I was excited was Babar Hamad and Gohar..... Hope the other 2 and kamran gets 2 place for Pak...
What I liked about Kamran is his energy....in the field...his fielding and allround capabilities....
Lets hope he is not another wasted talent.....
May Allah help and guide him
