[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Talent Spotter : Kamran Ghulam

I really wanted him to have a fabulous season but after watching him play I have realized that he isn't suited for T20's but he can be a mainstay for Pakistani middle order for next 7-10 years in ODI's & tests.

His game isnt suitable for T20 cricket as this PSL is showing. Should stick to longer formats. Based on his QAE trophy performances he can be tried as a replacement for Azhar Ali.

Even after this inning , its obvious he is not a T20 cricketer , better stick to longer version .

He deserves an opportunity to play for Pakistan. Should replace Azhar Ali

Compact player, have to see him against express fats bowling, the guy has future in tests and ODi.

He deserves an opportunity to play for Pakistan. Should replace Azhar Ali

In an ideal world he should replace Fawad at no.5 in tests but given he is batting at 3 in PSL I wouldn't be fussed with him coming at 3 in tests as well.

Kamran Ghulam scored 56 off 62 balls in Pak Cup

All Kamran Ghulam can do now is score runs but also work on his fielding and potentially improve his bowling.

This is a great opportunity for him to showcase his ability as a potential all format player. :hafeez2

I wasn't to impressed with Kamran in psl but let's see how he does in this format.

Pakistan Cup Round 6

At the House of Northern, Kamran Ghulam’s century led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to a 29-run win over Northern. Batting first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scored 279 for nine in their allotted 50 overs. Kamran, batting at number three scored a 100-ball 118, hitting seven fours and six sixes.

He is not giving up, keep knocking selector's door to give him chance to play for Pakistan , test or ODI and they keep ignoring him.

Lahore, 28 March 2022: Defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produced a dominant performance on the back of a century from Kamran Ghulam to defeat Central Punjab by six wickets in the first semi-final of the Pakistan Cup at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 286 to win, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lost their opening batter Mohammad Mohsin Khan (two off four) on the score of 22. Ashfaq Ahmed was joined by Kamran. The pair played shots with ease and added 130-run partnership for the second wicket before Ashfaq was caught by Mohammad Faizan of Qasim Akram’s bowling. The right-handed Ashfaq scored 71 off 86 balls, hitting six fours.

The 2020 Domestic Player of the Year Kamran continued to play shots at will and brought up his second century of the tournament in the 38th over of the innings. The right-handed batter top-scored with 109 off 120, smashing 10 fours and three sixes. Kamran was adjudicated player-of-the-match for his match winning knock and added 92 runs for the third wicket with Adil Amin (60 off 58, three fours, one six).

Superb stuff. Hopefully he gets a chance soon. Even if he fails, it is better than having Fawad in the side. Total waste of space and too old.

Would like him in the team as an attacking middle order batsman in place of Fawad and Saud Shakeel can take Azhar Alis place as the accumulator.

100 in a semi final is exceptional stuff keeps scoring runs in all three formats.

Time to get him into the test side and ODI team in the midfle order. The fact he can also bowl is an added bonus and will give the team extra balance.

While he clearly deserves a chance in Tests (Azhar, please retire), I would not bother including him in ODI's at all. His List A record is very poor with a 37 AVG & 82 SR. We have good ODI accumulators like Saud who don't fit on this team either and I think Ghulam makes even less sense.

Mohammad Hafeez speaking in an interview:

"And then you should find players for 4,5 and 6. Pakistan has some very good middle order batsmen. Kamran Ghulam is a very good player and he has beaten the Pakistan system and despite that, we are not giving him the due respect."

"He had scored almost 1400 runs and then performed again and did well in the PSL too. We have good players in Shan, Kamran and Saud Shakeel, all we need to do is to see our requirements."

"Players who are already doing well on their spots should stay there, we need to carry them forward. But for the fourth and fifth spot, we have to take decisions by showing a lot of maturity and not by making random guesses."

Shan and Kamran have a temperament of a mammoth it will insure no collapse against big teams, and they play at fairly rapid pace as well. Definitely better than Khushdil , Ifti and Asif.

Fakhar/Haris
Imam/Abdullah
Babar
Rizwan
Shan/Haider
Kamran/Saud
Nawaz/Imad
Shahdab/Qasim Akram

Pretty good options we have at all places.
Pretty decent options we have

You are talking about different kind of players Shan/Kamran should not be compared to the other players you mentioned.

It will also insure Pakistan will never chase big scores against good teams by having a team full of accumulators.

Kamran is a good cricketer, but is a bit like Ifti and not a dynamic batsman. That is sad because I remember him being a six-hitter in u19.

Still better than getting humiliated and getting out for 120 , beggars can't be choosers, I would happily take a side capable of putting 160 odd consistently then a side who consistently get bowled out in a T20 game.

Another batsman who probably questions who he ticked off, to not getting a opportunity in the Intl. setup.

A fighting 54 from Kamran Ghulam as he smashed four sixes and one four in KP v SP yesterday

Kamran Ghulam should have been tried in series against England. He is a better batsman than Khushdil and Asif Ali.He has been performing very well in domestic cricket for last two years.

Have you seen his strike rate this season we don't need another accumulator but potentially could be dropped in odis.

Kamran Ghulam brought up his tenth first-class hundred, racking up 102 at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.

This man should be in the test eleven without any doubt. He should replace Azhar Ali. Great technique and composure while batting. And his stats shows he is a proper test player.

This guy should be a lock in our test team.

Ideal test player who keps on performing under pressure situations for kpk.

From QeA22, Round 2:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kamran Ghulam missed what could have been his second century in as many matches by 14 runs. The right-handed middle-order batter made 86 off 175 (10 fours and two sixes) before Ahmed Bashir curtailed his stay at the crease. Kamran began the fourth and final morning of the match at 41 not out.

Kamran Ghulam hit 81 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's first innings against Northern in Round 10 of QeA22

Four wickets by Ihsanullah and an unbeaten 98 from Kamran Ghulam led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to their first win in the Pakistan Cup, beating Southern Punjab by six wickets.

Chasing 183 to win, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa achieved the target inside 39 overs with Kamran top-scoring with a 102-ball 98, studded with five fours and as many sixes.

Kamran Ghulam brings up his fifty – his 14th in List A cricket!

Great unbeaten century to win the game for his side. He is by far the most stable headed individual we have in our domestic circuit.

The right-handed Kamran Ghulam scored an unbeaten 123 off 115 balls, smashing six fours and as many sixes to help his side chase down the target in 49 overs.

Will never understand why this guy still hasn’t had a chance to play for Pakistan whereas others have

Yes he deserves to be on ODI and test team..with ODI worldcup next year he should play every ODI from now onwards which Pakistan plays

Kamran Ghulam made 92 against Northern at NBP Sports Complex in Karachi

Concussion sub and part of the Pakistan XI - This is his ODI debut.

FmW7NgmakAIp8YC

Kamran Ghulam - looks to be in the wrong format as far as T20s are concerned. Made 21(17) today - should have done more.

Bit disappointing, we thought that Khushdil Shah was bad but seems Kamran also struggling.

Looking like the selectors probably had their reasons for not giving him his debut.

Also heard rumours from people that claim to know Kamran Ghulam who state his real age is 33/34 years old. Maybe that's a factor too.

Shouldn't be playing T20 cricket, he's a 50 over and 4 day game player. He does need to be in test side for next series vs SL.

Fine with him playing PSL to make some money. Realistically his game is more suited to the longer formats

I hope his bad performances in the PSL don't affect his chances of being selected for Pakistan's Test team. Someone like Agha Salman was played ahead of Kamran.

Kamran Ghulam played a really useful innings of 62 runs not out off 43 balls while playing for Abbottabad against Faisalabad in National T20 Cup 2023-24. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.

Kamran Ghulam continues his good form in the ongoing National T20 Cup as he played another useful innings today for Abbottabad against Karachi Whites. He made 51 runs not out off 45 balls to take his team over the line in this match. These are highlights of this innings.

Needs to improve his skills to get into the team, he's a good batsman and handy spinner

Kamran Ghulam scored 67 runs in 39 balls for Abbottabad in National T20 Cup 2023, but it wasn't enough as Peshawar won by 21 runs. Great effort from Kamran Ghulam

Today, after early dismissal of Fakhar Zaman, Abbottabad's Kamran Ghulam took charge, as he has scored 87(47) against Lahore Whites in National T20 Cup 2023

If Babar Azam doesn’t have the decency to do what’s right for Pakistan and bat at number 3, then they should definitely be looking at Kamran Ghulam for this position!

It's a tragedy that this guy still hasn't debuted in Tests for Pakistan. He should be in Australia right now. Picked in a couple of squads then dropped without getting a game. Usual story of pcb.

He was my pick for a middle order spot in odi worldcup too but he couldn't get a game in odis too. We must be stacked with batting talents one would think for him to be so down the pecking order.

Kamran simply hasn't had his fair chance.

In Pakistan, we give more chances to players dropped from the national team, carried with the squad to somehow sneak back in instead of the guys that deserve their opportunity

What a knock Kamran Ghulam played tonight against Abbottabad in the National T20 Cup.

This lad is doing everything right to get selected into the national team soon.

Kamran Ghulam's top form persists in the National T20 Cup 2023. In today's match against Lahore Blues, he scored another fifty, making 69 runs off 45 balls. His performance helped Abbottabad secure victory over Lahore Blues by 3 wickets.

Going to be Fawad Alam 2.0, selected well beyond his expiry date. Should have been in the test team over Agha Salman over the last two years
Exactly it’s probably his last chance to get into the Pakistan team. Fully deserved as he’s notched it up a few levels with his supreme hitting.

Kamran Ghulam had 6 ODIs vs Zimbabwe A earlier this year and could only muster an average of 32 and SR of 81.

He should've dominated that series.

For PSL 9, I think he should be selected for the Diamond category based on his performance in the National T20 Cup 2023.

Needs to bowl more often. Can be selected as a stopgap replacement for Nawaz/Imad in t20s.

Kamran Ghulam is second highest run scorer in National T20 Cup 2023:

Innings 12
Runs 451
HS 87
Ave 45.10
SR 140.06
50×5

This is unjustified, he deserved at least a Silver category based on his performance in domestic cricket this year.

Kamran Ghulam scored 101* (124) in the second innings for SNGPL, leading them to victory over KRL in the fourth round of the President's Trophy 2023-24. It marks his 14th first-class century, and he also surpassed 4000 first-class runs during this innings.
