What's new

[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Ubaid Shah - another pacer emerges from the Naseem Shah household!

Bowled 3 bowls out of 6 at 90mph in his first over, is the speed reliable? To be honest he seems quicker than Naseem today.

Only one over bowled in the first innings of the opening game.
Pity we didn't see him more, would have been fun to see how he would have done in the death overs.
My first thoughts, he wasn't swinging the ball much, and his line and length was a bit all over the place.
But hard to judge from one over under relatively high pressure for him.

It’s proved that fast bowling is in the genes, he looked awfully slow in the U19 worldcup and just few weeks of training he is hitting 90mph with ease , if he is seaming the ball both ways at 90mph get him in after 1 season of FC , he will be absolute night for any batsman in the world. No body in the history of cricket seams the ball both ways at 90mph.

And I am not doubting the accuracy of speed guns as well because he did look faster than Naseeem and Mills with the naked eye as well.

He may be not ready for t20is because he takes time to adjust his line and length but for ODIs he will be definitely be ready in one season.

He definitely needs a year or two before he is blooded in the national team. He should play as much FC cricket to hone his skills, and prepare for CT 2025.

He has a good body figure for fast bowling. But like his brother has this tendency to bowl short and wide a lot.

Also seems to have a link in his action?

1 over is not enough for us people to judge this young lad. Let me play few matched and then we well see where he is standing among the big guys.

Tbh - this kid doesn’t excite me as much as Ali Raza - he looks to have genuine pace.

Zeeshan also has more potential with his height.

Ubaid bowls with double pace and has high range of bowling speed from 134 to 144k but can clock 140k+ at will if we wants to but he varies his pace considerably and doesn’t bowl 140k+ consistently on purpose even though he definitely can.

Don't like him because we have too many midgets. Nothing bad about him but we need tall guys and he isn't
he looks decent in height also have a high arm action just need coaching a bit and this guy will definitely will become a good bowler.

I am not so sure. My instinct on him isn't positive whereas on Naseem it was, but he has become an overweight, underachieving bowler that hasn't kicked on

Ubaid is one of those guys who always pickup wickets , he knows how to get batsmen out and can be a real clever bowler at ODIs and T20 level , In test I would want someone taller and quicker like Ali Raza in future.

This guy along with Ali Raza is our future. Good to see both of them getting a chance eventually and they proved their selection right.

Naseem when he's fully fit.
He was touching near 150 KPH on his debut tour in Australia.

He was a genuine 145+KPH bowler. Don't know if he can do that again or is on the path towards recovery for that. Don't want him to lose his pace like Shaheen.

People loose pace due to two reasons injuries and being overworked.

Very good spell , seems to beating batsmen with pace and movement and more importantly he knows how to pick up wickets and bowls with a plan. He can be an asset for us in limited overs cricket. A much better prospect than Zaman Khan and Abbas Afridi in T20 cricket for us already.

Lahore Whites' Ubaid Shah's brilliant spells in the 1st innings (4/53) and 2nd innings (3/56) helped his side win against Abbottabad on Day 3 in the fourth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024.

Don’t rush him make play lots of red ball cricket his brother was more talented then him but early selection and focus on T 20 leagues ruined him

Don’t read too much into him and please don’t overhype him.

Look what we got with Naseem - run making machine with the ball! All good teams love to tonk him around, specially in ICC tournaments.

Anyways, what’s his height? If he is as short as his brother Naseem, he will be a liability.

Pace alone won’t cut it, need good height - above 6’1.

Lahore Whites’ pacer Ubaid Shah ran riot with the ball as he took 8-79 against Larkana, registering his maiden first-class five-wicket haul, at the Marghzar Cricket Ground, Islamabad on opening day of the fifth round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024-25. Ubaid, who bowled 19.4 overs for 79 runs, helped his team bundle out Larkana for 202 in 58.4 overs. At Stumps, Lahore Whites were 121-1.

Ubaid Shah's brilliant match figures (8/79 in the 1st innings and 3/73 in the 2nd innings) in the fifth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy helped his side secure victory against Larkana

Ghani Glass' Ubaid Shah (5/46) registered his first-class five-wicket haul on the opening day of the eighth round of the President's Trophy 2025 against SBP.

He’s got the pace and he’s got the brain and skills as well, he will definitely going to play for national team soon.

Even though Ali Raza is more pacier and taller and get good bounce as well but Ubaid seems to be a better thinking bowler and he knows how to setup the batsmen and take his wicket which Ali currently lacks.

Really like this lot. Ubaid + Ali Raza. Dealy combo atm... I hope Ubaid does not turn out to be another over-hyped guy who failed at the international level. He is coming from a proper setup. Has played only 11 first-class ,matches though, which is not enough. But he certainly is on the right track... Maybe improve his fitness more.

Ehh... Naseem was constantly around 145 kph when he first came into the scene as well. None of this matters if it can't be sustained over the period of multiple years.

Hunain Shah is an interesting prospect though, he can be a really handy all rounder if groomed correctly.

Naseem was really hard done by. The kid barely played any first class cricket and then got thrown into test matches after test match as we lost 3-4 bowlers around 2019 all in one go so had to rely on rookies like SSA and NASEEM to do the bulk of bowling across all formats. They were bound to get injured.

But I genuinely like the look of Ubaid and Hunain shah. I can’t tell them apart actually. Ubaid (the Multan one) looks like he’s got great control. I think he’s ready for Some Odis. He has pace control and can out think batsmen.

For the first time in ages though it’ll be good to give a rookie gradual introductions rather than over burden them all at once.

This guy has been pretty impressive. Even today, he got the big wicket of seifert from Karachi Kings.

Multans invested in the right guy here.
