2 wickets for Zafar including one of Shan Masood 32

Zafar Gohar ended up with 3/53 , match drawn vs Yorkshire

Looks a nothing bowler, no flight,no spin and no guile. I amazed the Gloucester have re signed him but good look to him.

Zafar Gohar bags a michelle five-for for Gloucestershire against Derbyshire in their first innings in the LV County Division 2 championship. The 28 year old left-arm othodix spinner ended up with 5-122 in his 39.4 overs. Let's see what he can conjur up in the 2nd innings

Much better than the so called nepotism spinners in the Pakistan team. Proven and done the county graft. Give him a go.Miles ahead of Shadab and Nawaz. Has the desire and the anger.

Zafar Gohar took 3 wickets for 38 in the first innings against Sussex.

This is the guy who must be playing for Pakistan in this world cup.

He is getting that much turn on england's pitches, so imagine what he could have been done on spin friendly tracks here in India.

He is way better option than Nawaz!

Best spinner in Pakistan, not sure why he continues to get ignored. Sad when English counties have more sense than a national side

Played 13 County matches this season and averaged 48.93 per wicket which is worrying especially as Gloucestershire play in Div 2.

Jack Leach played 14 matches and averaged 29.45 with a slightly better economy.

Sadly he isnt very good. Just as bad as all the other guys. Hopefully M Rameez will start to get some A tours. He looks to have potential. I would also invest in Asghar and Junaid the offie

This guy such a gem just wonder why Pak selectors don't give him a chance. He is a super talented spinner and can easily replace the likes of nawaz and shadab

Zafar Gohar looked good in domestic and county cricket but his last year at Gloucester was a disaster as a blower. He could not do much with the ball. I don't think that we will see him in Pakistan's jersey anytime soon.

Isn't it a farce that that M Nawaz got called up again despite below average performances.

Zafar Gohar is no legend but he deserved a chance.
Yup exactly, not saying he is guaranteed to set the world on fire but on paper and by performance he has been the best of all Pakistan spinners and deserves a chance.

He averages 48 for Gloucester last year.
Yeah it was a relatively poor performance from him but he still has a good first class average and has well earned a run. We gave Shadab Khan 6 years of ODIs and T20s and he's been horrendous; Gohar deserves a minimum of a few series to showcase what he as

Been saying for ages he should have been part of our test team for a while now, not sure why he keeps getting ignored

Back-to-back fifties for Zafar Gohar for Gloucestershire against Sussex in County 2024:

1st Innings: 60 (118)

2nd Innings: 52 (140)

After back-to-back fifties, now he has a fifer. In 18.4 overs, he claimed figures of 5/59. Amazing stuff from Zafar Gohar

He should get the Player of the Match award

Zafar Gohar shines in the County Championship with a brilliant all round performance for Gloucestershire.

After all round performance in last match, Zafar Gohar is not playing today against Middlesex in county 2024. I don't see the reason to drop him for this match

Despite scoring two half-centuries in both innings of the previous match, Zafar Gohar failed to put on a show with the bat against Northamptonshire, being dismissed for 8 off 31.

Zafar Gohar is an all-rounder similar to Ravindra Jadeja and has the potential to be impactful for Pakistan in Test cricket.

This guy is only 29? Why isn't he playing for us? Dude has only 1 odi and t20?
Because this is Pakistan and we do not care how deserving you are. We care about a sifarish and parchi and I think zafar is missing this thing only.

As a spinner he's miles better then these usama's and nawaz.

And no usama and nawaz are not batters or Allrounders lol
Yes, he is a proper spinner and not some hack as I can judge by his performances. Can't say much about his international form because he never got a chance to play LOL

I've seen him bowl, Abrar is better but this guy is very good and would compliment abrar extremely well or would be an excellent back up.

I retract what I said about Hafeez.

Hafeez was right: RIP DOMESTIC CRICKET

Yeah brother. RIP domestic cricket. If sajid khan can play for Pakistan then this guy deserves more chance than him. He nad Abrar could be a good combination as Zafar can bat as well so you have that luxury in the lower middle order as well.

Zafar Gohar might be in action today for his team Gloucestershire which is set to face Leicestershire in the country Championship match.

This guy has been with them for a few years now and has been performing well. I think Pakistan needs this type of player who is a good bowler and a handy batter as well.

Okay so, he is rested for this game. Not playing.

Zafar Gohar sustained a groin injury whilst performing his duties as 12th man during the Leicestershire fixture which will require a lengthy period of rest and rehabilitation.

Spinner Tom Smith misses out due to a back injury as does Zafar Gohar with a hamstring injury.

So, Gohar is still injured and unable to play Vitality Blast games yet.

Still injured Gohar for today's game vs Kent in the Vitality blast.

Spinner Tom Smith and Zafar Gohar will miss the Vitality Blast game against Glamorgan due to injuries. Smith has a back injury, while Gohar suffered a hamstring injury.

A big probable loss for Gloucestershire
====

Ahead of their final Metro Bank One Day Cup group stage match against Leicestershire tomorrow, the Club has issued the following injury update

Zafar is completing the final stages of the rehabilitation of a groin injury and will be working hard towards a Championship return at the end of this month.

Zafar Zohar played a game a few days ago. We might see him in action in the next county game for Gloucestershire to start on thursday.

Zafar Gohar is back in the squad for Gloucestershire's game tomorrow against Northamptonshire, who feature Prithvi Shaw, in the County Championship Division Two 2024

Zafar Gohar is playing for Gloucestershire today against Northamptonshire as his team is batting atm but he will soon be in action with the ball as well.

How come Pakistan didn't give him many chances?

He is getting regular county gigs. So, he has to be good.

Zafar Gohar stars for Gloucestershire in County Championship

The Pakistan left-arm spinner scored 82 in the first innings and remained unbeaten on 19* in the second, while taking 2/75 with the ball, as his all-round performance helped his side to a 4-wicket win over Middlesex.

Zafar Gohar will be in action in the County Championship game for Gloucestershire against Sussex.

Performed well last game, let's see if he can replicate the performance and make it better.

I think he is trying to get himself eligible for England. Has not played any Pak domestic including PSL in a while.

Zafar Gohar continues to prove himself as a valuable asset for Gloucestershire in the 2024 County Championship. Against Sussex, he claimed 2 wickets so far, bringing his overall tally to 15 wickets in just 5 matches

Zafar Gohar claims a brilliant six-for having taken four wickets in 14 balls at the end of the Sussex 1st innings.

His figures of 6-76 are his best this season. He's in some form at the moment!

Middlesex Cricket are today delighted to announce that all-rounder Zafar Gohar will join the Club immediately, having signed a contract until the end of the 2026 season.

The Lahore-born left-arm spinner, who has represented Pakistan in both Test and ODI formats, left Gloucestershire at the end of the 2024 season after four years in Bristol, and joins Middlesex this winter ahead of the 2025 season.

Gohar has previously played as an overseas cricketer for Gloucestershire; however, he will now be available to play in all three domestic formats of the game for Middlesex as a local cricketer.

In his career to-date he has made 84 first-class appearances, has picked up 300 wickets at an average of 31.52, with best bowling figures of 7 for 79. With the bat he has hit 2,538 runs at an average of 22.46 with a career high score of 100*.

Speaking of Gohar joining Middlesex, MD of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“Zafar is a player that we have admired for some time now and have been keeping a watchful eye on. We are delighted to have secured his services as a local cricketer for the next two seasons.

“Zafar is a player that we have admired for some time now and have been keeping a watchful eye on. We are delighted to have secured his services as a local cricketer for the next two seasons.

“In Championship cricket we have identified the need to increase our wicket-taking threat in all conditions and adding an international quality spinner to our line-up will strengthen us and add a greater threat on all types of surfaces. Adding a senior bowler to our white-ball teams will also help the side in those situations where we’ve lacked some experience in the shorter formats in recent years.

“The addition of someone like Zafar to our squad adds not only quality, but also invaluable experience, and our young spinners will benefit enormously from having him in the playing group.

“We are excited to see what Zafar can do for Middlesex and are delighted to have him on board.”

On joining Middlesex for the next two seasons, Zafar Gohar commented:

"I'm thrilled to be joining Middlesex and making Lord's my home ground for the next two years.

“It's a club steeped in history and to be a part of this next chapter is hugely exciting.

“The opportunity to contribute to both the red-ball and white-ball teams formed a big part of my decision to make Middlesex my home, and I can't wait to play my part in what I hope will be a successful 2025 for the club."

If he's local now. Do you reckon we'll see him play England soon?
