[VIDEOS] Poor behavior by Pakistan fan towards Sarfaraz Ahmed during WC19 in England [Apology #169]

I just wish these brainless 'Pond Life Wasters' would sell or give their tickets away before entering the ground.
Who needs enemies, when you have 'fans' like these low life idiots and 'holier than thou' ex-players who seem to know it all.

Btw I Am curious - does every Brit Pakistani talk like this guy? His voice wasn’t very accented. All American Muslim kids do have a strong accent while talking in Urdu

Sounds like someone on a student visa , not born in the UK .

TBH, Indian friends are showing more support for Pakistan and hoping they do well then some of our guys!

Get behind the team please, most of these guys are history makers.

After seeing their surrender against India I don't think most fans have any hopes. It's good to be passionate but embracing reality makes life easier. Our team is just not good enough to make semis. It will be an achievement if they beat BD or Afghan teams.

The Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) on Saturday has directed the players to avoid going out unnecessarily during the World Cup 2019.

The players will be accompanied by security guards whenever the go out, said PCB.

The cricketers have been going through a tough time after facing heavy defeat against India in the ongoing World Cup. The angry cricket fans trolled their own team which turns into some serious matter after Sarfaraz Ahmed faced an unpleasant incident yesterday.

A man verbally abused the skipper while he was with his family and carrying his son in a shopping mall at London. However, the man later apologized for his shameful act after getting harsh criticism from the cricket fraternity.

Pakistan will play its next match against South Africa on Sunday, June 23 at Lord’s.

Those who forwarded the video to others are equally to blame. People should have to enough sense and awareness to ensure such videos don't go viral.

So, my posts regarding fitness has been deleted for whatever reason. It was related to the topic, since that was one of the reason for lack of performance and then the lash out from the public. No surprise, since as a nation, we hate dissent.
It's like people like you have found a new topic to bash this team on. Any pakora-eating haathi behind a computer screen will be laying into Sarfraz and co. right now, because 'feetneess'.

The video needs to be seen so we know what a vile person this is.

NO one is condoning it - instead its created a great awareness amongst people.

There seem to be a few here who are enjoying him being insulted. And I am not sure if those who forwarded the video did so for the sake of "creating awareness." That's what they do all day forwarding videos in whatsapp as that is their entertainment and way to interact with their buddies.

But you are right. Some videos gone viral can have an opposite effect to what was intended. Hopefully this will make people think twice before uploading such hurtful videos.

Actually, this is started by shoaib. He is the most badtamiz, hypocrite & liar person who played this game. A shameless man who has no respect at all.

He has apologised.

So if Sarfaraz hadn't memorised the whole Koran it would have been okay to abuse him? Lol what a lame and bizarre apology.

Not fond of Sarfraz but the abuser need a couple of punch on his face. I highly doubt in his mental state.

This is rubbish behavior. This is something similar to when india lost their first match to Australia in 2003 and crowd back in India went nuts.. throwing bricks and all and burning effigies. I don't understand at the end it's just a sport. The indian cricket team bounced back after that to make it to the finals.
Can these players do that.. Would be interesting to see.

This could have been all avoided if PCB disallowed family members to accompany players on foreign tours.

i don't get one thing.. what is the PCB doing.. why there no security person with your players. In my view there should be some security.. even if at a small scale whenever they go out.

You are blaming the victim here and not making sense.

Im making a point that if the PCB had taken precaution and the players had some common sense not to take their families public after a thrashing, then this could have been avoided.

Too late I guess and the result is we have had to witness this unfortunate incident.

There were no winners here.

Firstly, can you state for the record, that you totally condemn such language being used against any player in public.

Once done we can move on to your other points.

Shameful.

But many in this forum have said things on similar lines against Sarfaraz in this form but not on his face.

Sarfraz has been rightfully criticised for his lack of fitness, but there is a big difference between fans discussing it among themselves and shouting abuse at him in public while he is carrying a child. Anyone who justifies such crass behaviour has lost all sense of proportion.

In the past, whenever Pakistan toured England (and elsewhere I assume), they had some retired Army Colonel as a security officer - to make sure players weren't mixing with the wrong sorts and of course for their own safety.

Do they have such people now?

True. But science tells us, Pakora eating hathis are more likely to defend it than oppose the unfit athletes ;)

No one deserves abuse. Harsh words are fair enough but they are not your servants who play to make you happy. We can go in grand scheme kinda thing and agree their payment /fees is derived from fans but they are humans utmost who deserve respect regardless of your perception on their performance. Its like your boss saying youre a pig if you cant finish your task on designated time.

I can’t understand that after all the “recent” criticism, Sarfaraz faced for night out in Sheesha Restaurant, unhealthy junk food and his overall fitness level. Why in this world did he again turned up at Restaurant in London’s Westfield mall with his family?

For him its just a free family picnic. And for that very reason he deserves the harsh words and be-izzati by common fans. Who probably are more heart broken than him.

They are having the time of their lives out in UAE, England and other parts of world, as they lose and become fat/lazy. They enjoy it as an outing/picnic. That's why they want to be get selected for the world cup squad and not play and improve in domestic. International leagues are added bonus. That's why players degrade. I agree with Wasim AKram.

If they had shown passion and were performing for Pakistan, i wont have problem with their attitude. But they are not. And as far as I am concerned, you aren't worth a damn, if you stop respecting the job and stop performing for your country. You don't get free passes in this day and age.

At some stage, consistency does count and it has to. Otherwise, this relax behavior to defeats and no passion, won't save you from fans.

I can pretty much guarantee you, there will be fans in Pakistan, who would be eager to tear unto them. This would be wrong though. But, there is a quote: everything is fair in love and war. Such is the love for cricket in this country.

Sorry if others find it disrespecting, but someone has to share the truth. As a gentleman, this is utter wrong. But as a cricket lover, i am not sure majority in Pakistan, would criticize such behavior.

He doesn't deserve that abuse when he is with his child.

Why not?

The child is young and hence cant understand what’s being said and..

What’s Sarfaraz again doing in a Resturant with his whole khandaan on Pak taxpayers money?
In his own words the next 4 matches are important and Must Wins, so shouldnt he be focused on that instead of having a family picnic?

He deserves this!

Ofcourse there is much more context to it, then just 1 bad day at the office (in match against india).
And yes they are public servants because PCB doesnt runs on Chanda and Khairat, its paid for by the Pakistani awam. Hence they also have the right to express their displeasure.

As for the harsh words, this is nothing in comparison to what Public shouts at these players in the grounds During the match or whereever they come across normal Pakistani fans. Still NO effect on them.

And btw: wasn’t Sarfaraz the same player known for shouting obscenities from behind the wicket?

No person deserves to be humiliated and abused for losing a game especially when they arent good enough . The player is allowed a life so why cant he do his day to day things on a off day ?

When you don't do your job , your employer should abuse you in front of your family then. This is your logic.

Apparently the real reason the person in question apologized is because he was threatened with criminal prosecution

So strange when simple concepts of decency need to be explained to people.

Highly doubt that’s the reason because in the west there’s something called freedom of speech. You can go ahead and call the US president a fat pig and no one can file a criminal case against you. He probably did so because he was on camera and majority of people (other than a certain group fueled with racism) found the behavior appalling.

Green Shirts are not being abused and humiliated for one match but have been put in place for lying to the nation time and again by Saif's and his band of hacks.

Just before the CWC one guy Fakhar Zaman said that people will see a different Fakhar in the CWC and sure we did see the one who could not even judge that Rohit and Rahul are just few feet apart from each other on the same side of the crease.

When Safi drop catches and play poor shots but blame bowlers only then people see a liar swindling their hard earn money by exploiting them in the name of patriotism.

Thats what is making people angry who for four years saved their earning and planned to support Pakistan in the cricket ground and were simply asking a professional team showing fight to the last. Is it too much for Safi and his band of hacks to deliver?

Even after all this had green shirts apologized to the people in the ground and to the nation for the poor display in the ground then people might have given them some slack.

Yeah. Lack of common sense makes me furious as a fan. Yes you can lose when teams has better skills but our team is short on mental aspects of the game as well. That throw was brainless. And Sarfraz opting to bowl first because he was scared of some grass which turned out to be total flat pitch.

You live on a different planet with regards to concepts of decency. What that young kid called Sarfaraz (fat pig) is mild compared to what gets said by normal ordinary people in Pakistan on day to day basis. Maa, Behen ki Gaaliyaan are a common figure of speech in Pak street language. Even this same Sarfaraz uses such language in his behind the stumps ‘motivational shouts’.

I am not advocating the use of foul language but only pointing out that these things like decency, language, choice of words etc are contextual. Pakistanis in the UK are to “some degree” a reflection of language and culture back home, which is why don't judge it on British moral standards.

Happy to see that you are not advocating use of foul language - that's all you had to say - rest is your opinion which is your right.

The guy who abused Sarfraz isn't a UK Pakistani. Listen to his accent. It sounds like he's from Pakistan.

British Pakistanis love making these videos. Ishaq Dar, Shahbaz Sharif heckling videos are especially popular.

Erm, you base this on what?
How many people did you pole to come up with that statement?

Snobbery isnt a good Characteristic buddy. So time to get off your high horse. To give a short answer:
Ever visited Innercity areas of Glasgow, East London, B’ham, Manchester......?

If not, do visit to find out more.

Let me find a barn to park my horse into.. Give me a sec..................................................

Right, no one's ever called me a snob before, feel quite privileged now... Cheers

I visit the "innercity" all the time, it's the only place I can get a decent kebab and do my desi shopping.

Back to your point, I call those types of people pindos, you'll get them everywhere. But your statement seemed to brush everyone with the same brush... buddy.

Now, time I got back on my horse again before it gets clamped and go watch and (hopefully) enjoy the game.

:))) 'Innercity' is the sort of language used by tourists or students from abroad. This thread is an advert for false flaggers!

In all seriousness the Pakistani players need to be a bit more intelligent here.

With all that has gone on recently and the performances, they need to be a bit smarter regarding social activities and what they are doing in their time off.

I'm not saying sit in a hotel room all day, but think about what you are doing and where you are going.

Exactly that’s what i was thinking. Social and emotional intelligence are needed to be a good captain and Leader.

In case of Sarfaraz he seems to lack intelligence in any department. Otherwise why would he:
1. Before WC in press conference explicitly raise the issue of ‘PCB should allow families to accompany players’.
2. After all what happened recently still has no hesitance in showing up at Public Restaurants with his family.
3. Make dumb statements in Press conferences like y’day he was justifying his yarning and then saying that ‘if you climb to a high position, you fall really low. Hence i never try to get to the high position in first place’ . This shows his lack of ambition and eloquence, which one would expect from someone already in game since u19 WC many years ago.
4. Then show lack of intelligence and imagination on the field over and over again.

Enough is enough. PCB should invest in some other younger and better individual as a Captain.

There are so many take out options available in England. Heck i am sure friends and handlers can get food from the resteraunts for the players hence making it unnecessary for the players to get out of the hotel. But given the backclash the team is getting, they should have stayed away from the public eye for now.

Why has this thread stretched to 4 pages? I thought the judgement here was simple enough: The fan was wrong in abusing Sarfaraz, especially in front of his child. Why is there a disagreement?

That was disgusting. The first video was just nonsense.
Calling someone a pig for not performing? The word has bad connatations and not only that some of these guys in here are justifying it.

Criticising is fine, insulting and abusing is not.

Videos in Post#266 onwards - dont post videos from any other source here.
