I think he’s taken his sweet time to recover.

I watched Dr. Nauman Niaz talk about Saim's potential injury and recovery extensively couple months ago.

He was clear that if it was not a fracture. The timeline usually is 18 to 22 weeks to make an international return to Cricket.

If it is a fracture then it takes minimum of 6 months to make return in International Cricket. This includes diagnosis, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation and slotting back in the International stage.

Saim Ayub today in a post PSL match presser said following regarding his great comeback from the injury:

Q: How did you deliver such a strong performance, especially after recovering from an injury?

I believe my practice was complete. This is why I was playing a PSL match; there was nothing I missed in practice.

As far as the innings are concerned, I have my own approach. I no longer think differently from others in terms of whether I am unique or not. Everyone else has their own game, but I do have some basic strategies that are part of my mental plan. There is always a tactical plan in place before the end of the game (for us).

Whatever form I have developed, I have created it for myself. After getting done with the batting, the match comes to an end. So I just enjoy these things.

He scored a 50 but you can see he is rusty as he missed quite a few balls that pre-injury he would have deposited in the stands. I believe he needs about 5 competitive games to start getting his rhythm back and here's hoping he gets it sooner than later.

Great News is that he looked as good as pre injury.

Just requires discipline to remain on right path and if he does he will have a very successful International Cricket spanning atleast 15 years.

Gifted player who has all the tools to thrive in International Cricket and be an impact player rather than being a stats peddler.
