[VIDEOS] Saim Ayub in PSL 2021 Performance Watch

Saim getting another opportunity opening today vs Multan, with Quetta batting first yet again.

He has the raw skills but needs a lot of time on the pitch and the nets. A couple of seasons of first-class should do be a world of good.

So glad to see the management giving him game-time despite failing on few occasions.

I don't know if he is over confident ,stubborn or stupid but he is not helping himself at all always getting out by playing an stupid shot , clearly he has the talent.

Doesnt have the gams for T20'S right now. But a good prospect for sure. 4 day cricket should help in his development.
For T20's i expect him to gain strength with age which will help him build his game for T20'S

If he doesn't have the game then atleast play with some intelligence instead of keep doing same thing which clearly is not working , This lack of intelligence will not make him a better cricketer ever.

PSL 6 postponement bad for the youngsters who were beginning to blossom - a good PSL could have done wonders for Saim's chances for the T20 World Cup squad

On a bright side I hope that both Usman Khan and Saim Ayub gets the opportunity to play for Sindh in the limited over formats for the upcoming domestic season. Sindh could use some raw talent, considering how badly the last domestic season went for them.

He didnt look anywhere close to being good enough for the international level, let alone a world cup squad.

What he needs is time at the domestic level in the second XI. He seems to be one of the few who is close to his reported age of 18, and the lack of professional cricket was clearly showing. He should play 3/4 day cricket and List As if he is good enough.

Players like Saim are gems.
They have excellent techniques that could make them successful in test cricket.

Best thing for this kid would be a couple of years in First Class cricket rather then trying to play big shots in T20 cricket which could harm his development and confidence.

Saim Ayub – Quetta Gladiators: “The opportunity to open the innings for Gladiators in the Karachi-leg was a hugely exciting one for me. At the start of the tournament I found the big stage a bit challenging but the team management gave me a lot of confidence and encouragement. I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey with the Gladiators so far and it was a great privilege to share the crease with T20 stars like Chris Gayle and Faf du Plessis.

“The partnership with Usman gave me a lot of confidence as we were able to set-up the platform for our first win of the season. Now in the Abu Dhabi-leg I would want to utilise the experience I gained in Karachi and ensure that I contribute to the team’s cause. We have a lot of work to do there but we have the depth and pedigree in our squad to make a big comeback and stake a claim for a playoff spot.”

Gets a chance as a sub for Faf - Can he make it count?

He needs to play FC and list A.

He has very limited strokeplay to survive in this format

Obviously far more suited to Test and ODI format and looks like a pretty good exciting prospect for that.

Far too early in his career for T20's IMO when he is still developing and relies on more proper cricketing shots than slogs.

Well done to QG to actually give him some exposure at this level. He seems like a great prospect and someone who can replace either Fakhar Zaman or Imam ul Haq at some point in the ODI side. He will improve more with confidence, and we need to be patient for him to reach that level mentally

I have followed him since under 16 pak level he was v good ..but struggled in under 19s and now looking at his technique could do well in longer format

Not impressed at all. His SR of 105 is absolutely criminal.

It's not really, since he isn't really a hitter. I'm assuming he has been picked for the PSL because he's got a good record in first class cricket, not specifically T20s. He looks like he's got good technique, but he's not going to win any games in this format.

This kid should not be playing T20 cricket.

I was speaking with a former Pakistan player today and he was saying to me that there seems to be desperation from players and PCB to fast-track players to the PSL even if they are not fit, not suited to the format or indeed not good enough.

Worrying trend really.

He may well be but this is T20 and in this format technique means nothing when you have a SR of 105. Even tail-enders tend to have better strike-rates.

I don't think he's suited to the T20 cricket, but he should be better in the longer formats. But he is young and does have time.

He would definitely be suited to the longer formats technically he looks good but he isn't a t20 batter
