How far can he go?

 
Impressive but little on the slow side - would have loved to see a SR closer or beyond 100 today
 
Hit set up is very similar to fakhar. He is a good prospect. Always scoring runs in all the formats.
 
Not impressed by him as a modern batter , he looks all at sea initially every time he start his inning, international bowlers will eat him alive in first few overs where he is most vulnerable.

Hopefully he can improve in future but definitely not a ready made prospect,
 
Shahzaib Khan wins the man of the match award today for his scintillating knock of 106(126) against the Afghanistan U19 today at East London, South Africa. His innings included 10 fours and 3 sixes

He was very slow to start and put the entire team under pressure tbh. Needs to work on that aspect of his game. I wasn't really impressed because of that.
 
In the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Group D clash against Nepal U19s, Shahzaib Khan added 37 runs from 70 deliveries. Despite narrowly missing out on a half-century, his innings proved crucial, providing Pakistan with a robust beginning and fostering a partnership of more than 50 runs alongside Shamyl Hussain.
 
Shahzaib Khan is leading from the front with a brilliant fifty in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 group match against New Zealand U19, chasing a target of 141. Currently, he is batting at 52 (61).

I'm still not impressed by Shahzaib. He made 26 (67) today. I know it was a low-scoring game. But still style of tuk tuk play will not get Pak anywhere.
 
None of the batter looked good enough for national side any time soon , Riazullah seems to have the highest ceiling but he can’t play pace at all for now.
 
Overall he is a very good batsman but he needs to improve his strike rate.

He plays bit old school cricket which wil not help him to get into the limelight.
 
His SR is so slow vs the runs he has made. Seems like a statspadder. Just look at his SR vs the other top run getters in the U-19 WC.

Highest run-scorer for Pakistan but at the rate he is scoring runs is not good. Maybe he is asked to play like that or natural? Not good for him moving forward.
 
SHahzaib forced Shamyl to play a reckless shot because he himself was playing at a snail's pace. He himself is now gone as swell, after wasting 30 balls for his 4 runs. Strike rate of 13. Pathetic and overrated he is.
 
Never rated him and Azan even when they scored tons , straight from the 90s coaching manual with even less stroke play.
 
He could be good for Test cricket but keep him away from any sort of white ball cricket... he is too damn slow!

Reminded me of Wajahatullah Wasti!

Doing better job than his partner atm who is just putting extra pressure on him with his sluggish batting.

Shahzaib’s 159 off 147 balls has now become the highest individual score against India in U-19 cricket, breaking Sami Aslam’s previous record of 134 runs.

Adding to the feat, Shahzaib’s 10 sixes in the innings set a new benchmark for Pakistan U-19 cricketers, surpassing Kamran Ghulam’s previous record of seven sixes.

Shahzaib Khan, while speaking to PCB media:

"First of all, I thank Allah Almighty. I am grateful to Him for allowing me to play such a good innings against India. The plan was to start cautiously and assess the wicket early on. There was significant seam movement, and the wicket was offering support to fast bowlers. So, I took my time initially, and when the spinners came on, my focus was to capitalize on any ball that was in my range and convert it into boundaries. Allah Almighty granted me success.

The wicket was providing seam movement early on, and the ball was cutting, which gave the fast bowlers an advantage. This is why it took me three to five overs to settle. When matches start early at 9:00 AM, fast bowlers get a lot of help. I tried to take my time at the start, and once I felt comfortable, I looked to convert the balls in my range into boundaries.

I am very happy with this innings and the record I made—159 against India. It feels amazing, and I hope to continue this form, Inshallah. I had been practicing for this, especially during our two days of net practice, where I focused on hitting and converting balls in my range. I was able to execute that in this match.

Now, my full focus is on our next match against UAE, followed by the game against Japan. Our aim is to win both matches and qualify for the semi-finals."
 
If he was a genuine U19 player, I would invest heavily in him but in my opinion, he is around 22. This means that today's innings means little. He should be playing FC cricket and competing with other FC players. We saw that averaged players like HA and Shadab( to a lesser extent)go nowhere

Do you have any evidence that he 22? He looks quite young tbh even though I don't see much potential in him and hasn't developed at all from last year.

He gets to a 118-ball hundred against UAE U19.
 
Needs to play FC cricket but don’t see why he can’t be a squad player in the test team in the near future.

His strike rate has been highlighted well by PP’ers well early in his career - he seems to have improved on it recently but needs to show this consistently and in the long run.
 
This guy is a serious talent... can easily replace many players currently playing for Pakistan and Usman Khan is one of them.

He looked nervous quite understandable and struggled against short ball but was very good and six hitting ability
