[VIDEOS] The Palestinian and Israeli conflict

Read the news. The israeli police forces had rocks thrown on them from the Al-Aqsa crowd which is why the former then tried to disperse the people from the mossque. Then Hamas fired rockets into Israeli territory in retaliation killing a couple of women.

And dare to ask yourself a question that why were the rockets thrown at the first place.

Palestinian militants fired rocket barrages into Israel from Gaza for a second day on Tuesday and Israeli warplanes struck the enclave in a deepening conflict in which at least 26 people in Gaza and two in Israel have been killed.

The most serious outbreak of fighting between armed factions in Hamas Islamist-run Gaza and Israel since 2019 was triggered by clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police at Al Asqa Mosque in Jerusalem on Monday.

The holy city has been tense during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, with sporadic unrest and possible evictions of Palestinians from homes claimed by Jewish settlers in a court case adding to the friction.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would step up its strikes on Gaza in the face of the surge in rocket attacks.

"At the conclusion of a situational assessment, it was decided that both the strength of the attacks and the frequency of the attacks will be increased," he said in video statement.

The Gaza health ministry said at least 26 Palestinians, including nine children, had been killed and 122 wounded by Israeli air strikes in the enclave of two million people since Hamas on Monday fired rockets towards Jerusalem for the first time since 2014.

Israel's ambulance service said two women were killed in rocket strikes on the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.

In Beit Hanooun town in northern Gaza, Abdel-Hamid Hamad said his nephew Hussein, 11, was killed on Monday in what residents said was an Israeli air strike. He told Reuters the boy was collecting wood when he was hit.

"Gaza has had enough, and nothing makes a difference now. Our children are getting killed. What should we do?" Hamad said.

In Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon, an Israeli woman treated for injuries after her apartment was hit by a Palestinian rocket recalled moments of panic.

An air conditioner fell on her and one of her children during the night and a bathroom door fell on her husband's head, the woman told Channel 13 TV, which did not give her name.

Israel disputed the Gaza account of casualties in the territory, saying it had killed at least 15 Hamas fighters and that a third of the hundreds of rockets launched by militants had fallen short, causing Palestinian civilian casualties.

In one Gaza neighbourhood, an Israeli missile exploded inside an apartment in a multi-story building, killing three Islamic Jihad members, a militant official said.

Police said more than 30 people were hurt by rocket strikes in southern Israel, though the military said its air defences were intercepting about 90% of the cross-border launches.

Hamas said that in one five-minute barrage alone, it had fired 137 missiles at Ashkelon and Ashdod, both lying south of Tel Aviv, where several homes were on fire.

A school in Ashkelon was hit by a rocket. Classes had been cancelled in the area and the building was empty.

Israeli tanks massed on the Gaza border as officials said infantry and armour reinforcements were being dispatched.

The Arab League, some of whose members have warmed ties with Israel over the last year, accused it of "indiscriminate and irresponsible" attacks in Gaza and said it was responsible for "dangerous escalation" in Jerusalem.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the rocket attacks from Gaza against Israel should stop immediately. He urged all sides to take steps to reduce tensions.

Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations were trying to stem the violence, a Palestinian official said

Israel has also seen a spread of pro-Palestinian protests, some violent, among its 21% Arab minority.

In the ethnically mixed town of Lod, witnesses quoted by Israeli media said one or two armed Jews shot at rioting Arabs, killing one and wounding two. The dead man's father told the Walla news site he had been ambushed while on a family visit.

The accounts could not be confirmed. Israeli police said they had arrested two suspects in the incident.

On Monday, more than 300 Palestinians were injured at Al Asqa Mosque in clashes with Israeli police, who fired rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas, the Palestine Red Crescent Society said. Police said 21 officers were hurt.

Israel claims all of Jerusalem as its capital, a status not generally recognized internationally. Palestinians want East Jerusalem - captured by Israel in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war - as the capital of a future independent state free of Israeli occupation.

They have been incensed by Israeli court-ordered evictions there to make way for Jewish settlers. A hearing on the evictions was postponed on Sunday.

The outbreak of hostilities led Netanyahu's political opponents to suspend negotiations on forming a coalition of right-wing, leftist and centre-left parties to unseat him after an inconclusive March 23 election.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid has three weeks left to establish a government. Prolonged fighting could cut into Lapid's mandate, with a new election - and another chance for Netanyahu to retain power - likely if he fails.

Hamas named its rocket assault "Sword of Jerusalem", seeking to present itself as the defender of Palestinians in the city.

Such a move undermines the claims of its chief Palestinian rival, President Mahmoud Abbas, to represent all Palestinians. Abbas’s credibility took a blow earlier this year when he first called, then cancelled Palestinian elections.

There is no shortage of idiots in the PTI government. This ignoramus is a minister for school education in Punjab, which adds to the irony.

You have to admire the confidence of the dimwits in the PTI government.

LAMO :)))

Palestinians are suffering , have no access to medical help and this guy suggesting to spend all funded money to buy weapons.

You open Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. and all you get these days is online support for and solidarity with Palestine.

It is a pain. You cannot scroll for 5 minutes without someone forcing Israel-Palestine down your throat.

People are forcing you to vote in polls that declare Israel a terrorist state.

What is the point of all this and what do people wish to achieve?

No one can do jack about it and no one will go out of their way to do anything about. Social media activists are hilarious.

Israel is not going anywhere and Palestinians will not back down. It is an unfortunate situation but it is what it is.

It is time for the rest of the world to move on and mind their own business.

If Hamas keeps attacking Israel then naturally they will suffer much worse consequences. Knowing that no one is gonna help them and Israel's military might is on a different level negotiating is the best for them. Palestinians have no one to save them from Israeli rage.

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/arab-league-chief-condemns-israeli-air-strikes-gaza-2021-05-11/

The head of the Arab League condemned on Tuesday deadly Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip as "indiscriminate and irresponsible" and said Israel had provoked an earlier increase in violence by its actions in Jerusalem.

The violence began with confrontations between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces at al-Aqsa Mosque in the heart of Jerusalem's walled Old City on the compound known to Jews as Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary.

Israel launched air strikes on Gaza after Palestinian militant groups fired rockets close to Jerusalem. "Israeli violations in Jerusalem, and the government's tolerance of Jewish extremists hostile to Palestinians and Arabs, is what led to the ignition of the situation in this dangerous way," Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in a statement.

The attacks in Gaza were a "miserable show of force at the expense of children's blood", he said, adding that "Israeli provocations" were an affront to Muslims on the eve of the Eid holiday at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Arab League foreign ministers held a virtual emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Jerusalem.

The meeting would reaffirm the centrality of the Palestinian issue for Arab states and solidarity with Palestinians in Jerusalem, a statement said.

In light of events in Jerusalem, Egypt declared its "total rejection and condemnation of these oppressive Israeli practices," Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told the League.

The head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which held an emergency meeting in Jeddah, "praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people stationed in the occupied city of Jerusalem and their response to the Israeli attacks on the holy sites", Saudi state agency SPA reported.

Turkey also condemned the Israeli air strikes.

"The Israeli government must finally understand that it will not be able to suppress the Palestinian people's legitimate rights and demands by using indiscriminate and disproportionate power," the Turkish foreign ministry said.

The Gaza health ministry said at least 28 Palestinians, including 10 children, had been killed. Israel disputed that account, saying it had killed at least 20 Hamas fighters and that a third of the hundreds of rockets launched by militants had fallen short, causing Palestinian civilian casualties.

What the Zionist entity is doing is their normal daily terrorism.

The mistake they made was to invade Al-Aqsa, now they are in the news with pictures sent around the world of them abusing a holy place. Zionists are also attacking and mudering people in other parts of occupied holy land.

This has become very serious. Muslims must stand united behind the Palestians at this time.

Indian trolls blaming the Palestinians for this current mess was not unexpected to see when I opened this thread.

It is high time for Muslims and armchair activists to overcome their fantasies and delusions and realize that nothing can be done about it.

The Arab countries tried to fight Palestine’s war until they got thrashed in 1967 and made the right call to leave Palestine to its own fate.

Today, most of these countries have normalized relations with Israel and will continue to do so in the future.

Non-Arab Muslim countries will also not fight Palestine’s war because there is nothing to be gained from it.

Israel has powerful armed forces and intelligence and more importantly, it is backed by the most powerful country in the world.

No Muslim country is dumb enough to fight Palestine’s war, only armchair activists and online Palestine supporters are eager to see Muslims ganging up on Israel.

Even Imran Khan and the Pakistani military have enough intelligence to realize that Pakistan cannot dare to do something practical about it because the consequences will be terrible. As a result, they are left with no choice but to offer verbal criticism.

Pakistan must realize that the world is moving on and times are changing. Soon enough, Pakistan will stand alone as the only Muslim country to not recognize Israel. In due time, Pakistan will also accept the reality, but hopefully not before it is too late.

Israel was defeated by Hezbollah, thousands of rockets landed in all areas of the Zionist state inc Tel Aviv.

Its nothing more than a colonial outpost, created by the Brits & protected by the US. You have your opinion but nobody will take you seriously after your views of Indian air force invading Pak air space.

Crusaders were ousted after nearly 100 years of rule, when the balance of power changed, same will happen again. Maybe after our deaths but its best you worry about Indians dying in huge numbers due to Covid, thats where your love & loyalty is.

And yet after the defeat by Hezbollah, Israel still stands today and continues to oppress Palestine while the Muslim countries are watching like spectators and cannot muster the courage to confront them.

A pussycat country like Lebanon is hiding behind a terrorist organization like Hezbollah when it comes to dealing with Israel. That says everything.

When the balance of power shifts, it will shift towards the Chinese and not the Muslims.

Muslim states that oppose Israel can do their bhangra but they will remain a laughing stock because of their incompetence and lack of intelligence.

And the Chinese are even more inhumane and cruel. They don’t care about religion and human rights. They only care about their interests, which is why they have billions of dollars worth of trade with Israel and close military and political ties.

China clearly does not give a toss about Palestine and for good reason, and nothing will change on that front no matter how much chest-thumping Pakistan does.

You can dream and fantasize about the day that Israel falls but that day is not coming. 100 years from now on, people like you will still be talking about the day Israel falls and Palestinians prevail.

Giving examples of crusaders is useless. The global political order has changed since the emergence of the nation-state system.

International relations is transactional today. It is all about where the money is. As long as the big countries are benefiting from trading with Israel, they will not do jack to help the Palestinians and will continue to support Israel.

It is the same for Pakistan as well. They have sold themselves to China and ignored the plight of the Muslims in Xinjiang because of financial reasons.

Pakistan’s support for and solidity with Palestine also has a price in USD. If Israel is willing to pay that price, Pakistan will also change its tune towards Israel. It is the reality of the world that we live.

Your undrestanding of this subject is no better than your undertanding of Indians being able to fly & bomb in Pakistan, which you supported. Again , nobody will take you seriously after making such an admission.

Hezbollah has enough rockets to destroy ever town in the Zionist entity. 100 Zionist terrorist troops were taken out by the resistance. Zionists invaded to retrieve 3 of their troops, which were also returned in the end but without a soul. In return Zionists had to leave, free many resistance fighters. Rocket technology has moved to a level, a tiny colonial outpost cannot escape. The reason its standing is due to holy Jerusalem. But if the Zionists ever occupy Al-Aqsa, no more reason to hold back. Perhaps you can join them in defending their outpost, you're brave enough.

If that's all you've got, you're right. Nothing will change in your lifetime, or your son's lifetime.

Rephrase your original post to: "Its high time Muslim countries invested in an hourglass. Even when it stops ticking, turn it over and let it roll again. It's only a matter of time when Israel is gone and the hourglass is proven right."

The sooner people realise that Israel is not going anywhere the better. There has to be a two state solution. Both Israel and Palestine have to coexist peacefully.

Its amusing how people who thump their chest at how Muslims conquered lands, today call Israel an occupier. Lets be honest, those who have power and strength will expand. Thats the rule.

Israel is a nuclear power, with one of the most advanced militaries. They are backed by US NATO and most other major powers.

No muslim country is going to match it, alone or together.

Wow, you know a lot.

Its a small entity, only 420 km long. 10,000 missiles are enough. I beleived the same but after the war with Hezbollah its clear Israel can be defeated. Unless they build a shield over the Zionist state it can be destroyed. Of course in retaliation the attackers would also suffer.

I suggest you worry about what's happening in India atm & not glee on the suffering of others.

I dont think you understand the significance of Al Aqsa and Al Quds No one is gonna sit idle with this desecration by the zionists hands It may seem on the face nothing is changing but you already have the non arab countries like turkey iran and pakistan emerging as big regional players
The arab puppets wont be in charge for ever too

Tyranny and oppressors always get their comeuppance and so will israel

I dont understand why Hezbollah just doesn't team with Hamas and open up the northern front to give gaza some respite .

Really pathetic that non of these arab regimes are helping or doing anything and just letting israel desecrate al aqsa , seize Palestinian homes and now launch massive attacks on gaza .

Nothing lasts forever. No country no religion or culture.

Look at the state of pakistan. Permanent state of turmoil.

The epidemic has killed 100s of 1000s in Europe and America. Doesn't mean that country has been destroyed.

Who knows when Israel will cease to exist? Who knows where will Palestinians be and arabs be? What religion culture rules the world will be followed then?

No they didn't "clash" it was one sided oppression by Israelis who want to take over Palestinian lands and do an ethnic cleansing of the Muslims in those lands. That is part of their Greater Israel strategy they don't even make it secret anymore.

It's more about Netanyahu trying to cling onto power, by any means at his disposal - he is facing corruption trials, was unable to form a government and Israel is facing, potentially, a 5th general election in less than two years. He has also faced protests over his corruption and handling of the pandemic. So he is seeking a distraction, what better diversion could there be than a confrontation with Palestinians at al-Aqsa during Ramadan? He knows the US/West and corporate media propagandists have his back, regardless of what he does, so he is free to act with impunity. It is political - religion is just a weaponized tool.

Whilst Muslims express their outrage, helpless in their righteous anger, the Arab League convenes a meeting where gnashing of teeth, whinging, whining and complaining are on display - this, too, is a distraction designed to quieten Muslims. And Turkey - member of mass murdering Muslims and non-Muslims, NATO - wrings its hands in public exhibitions of rage and grief, busy bombing and battling Kurds in Iraq and Syria.

The 'Abraham Accords' - with Gulf Arab States - proved publicly, for the first time what many had always known, that they were colluders and collaborators with Netanyahu/Zionist State. Much was made of these 'agreements,' but they were a bitter betrayal of Palestinians. Jared Kushner was even nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize - the joke of the century.

The truth is, the biggest enemies of Palestinians, of Muslims, are their own leaders, are themselves. If the Saudi regime, with its Gulf allies - armed, enabled and facilitated by the US/West - can perpetrate genocide in Yemen, if Muslims can kill each other in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and so on, if they can hate each other because of sectarian/nationalistic/ tribal/ caste/political affiliations, etc., then why on earth should Netanyahu, the US/West give two hoots about Muslims? Muslims themselves do not hold sacred the lives and lands of their own co-religionists, so there is no reason powerful nations should.

I have always said that when Muslims stop killing each other - and fight for unity the way they fight over every single conceivable thing - maybe then non-Muslims will stop killing them too. The bitter divisions and conflicts amongst Muslims are a clear sign, if any were needed, that Allah SwT is no longer guiding or protecting them.

'Do not support, enable or facilitate the wrongdoer - even if it be yourself, your father, mother, brother, son, sister, daughter, leader, community or country.

Do not exalt the family, tribe, sect or nation to the extent that it blinds and deafens you to their unrighteous acts.

Urge the perpetrators of evil to desist from their crimes, commend to them the making of amends - for the good of their victims, the innocent, humankind, for their own good.

Do not be a friend of the oppressor, the persecutor, the criminal, the terrorist, the evildoer - but strive hard against them by proclaiming the virtues of Justice, Mercy and Truth, by working hard to establish Peace.'

On my social media there has been lots of posts about Palestine and raising awareness. Also in my city , there was a protest about what is happening in Palestine and I think the intention was to put pressure on Boris Johnson to take action against Israel.

Do you think Muslims should not raise awareness??

Your understanding in armed conflicts has been shown, you suggested India can waltz into Pak airspace, target public buildings and fly back out, the reality was different.

You also have no clue of the details of the war against Lebanon.

Zionists cannot occupy the Haram Al Sharif, they never have to this day. Zionist Jews are praying to a broken wall while Muslims still have the glory of Al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock. They are occupying other areas but not the holy grounds. Zionist terrorists can only come in kill & then run. This is pathetic considering the difference in military might, proves how cowardly they are.

Lebanon is not a existential threat to Israel. When such a situation arises, they and their allies will use more military power.

Half the time you are posting about India.

It's interesting how certain groups both in the West & Asia are highly vocal about the Uighurs yet strangely silent about the Palestinians.

One of the most establishment type USA based human rights organisations, Human Rights Watch declared Israel to be an apartheid state a few weeks ago yet did we hear anything from politians even midlky rebuking the Zionist regime?

For everyone still talking about 2 state solutions for goodness sake wake up, there will never be 2 states. Palestinians need to start demanding OMOV & start mobilising so called supporters of democracy in Western countries to assist them in obtaining full rights.

Its one thing occupying the region but the desecration of Al Aqsa masjid a holy site for all muslims is a red line crossed

Nice dream! Muslim leaders themselves support Israel.

Lebanon is not a existential threat to Israel. When such a situation arises, they and their allies will use more military power.

Half the time you are posting about India.

The situation has already taken place & resulted in Zionists accepting demands of Hezbollah with over 100 of their terrorist perishing not being able to retrieve their soldiers alive. Zionists are cowards, they couldnt handle the barrage of over 4000 rockets fired.

Not on a Indian forum. You are here to defend an occupying force because your own country committs the same henious crimes or arguably worse in the land Hindustan occupies.

Some great thing have happened in the past and don’t be surprised if something extravagant does happen again in your lifetime. You will eventually wake up from the sleep of denial.

Just like how I said TLP is here to stay and will dictate for generations to come, Pakistan will also play a major role in coming times, how and when time will tell.

The more awareness we can raise about the plight of the Palestinians, the more funds we can raise and the more we can help them. They need our prayers.

I agree the polls like the ones you've seen doesn't accomplish anything.

What I would like to see more from Muslims, especially Sunni Pakistanis (like myself), is to show the same energy when it comes to atrocities committed against minorities in Muslim countries.

What's wrong with me voicing solidarity for Palestinians and minorities in Pakistan?

TLP are not the solution. It is a terrorist organisation which says a lot about you.

TLP are not the solution. It is a terrorist organisation which says a lot about you.

Terrorists with stones in their hands.
Terrorists with massive votebank and support of vast population.
Mate you have many terrorists In your neighbourhood.

Don’t make the same mistake as other nations by thinking so naive.
Thank God intelligence agencies have realised these facts and have cleared TLP to function as usual.

Those who support muting TLP with guns and power are the most anti Pakistani people ever, who want nothing but destruction of Pakistan.

Palestinian militants say they fired 130 missiles at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv after an Israeli air strike felled a tower block in the Gaza Strip.

The 13-storey building was attacked an hour and a half after residents and local people were warned to evacuate, Reuters news agency reports.

Israel's military says it is targeting militants in Gaza in response to earlier rocket attacks.

At least 31 people have died in some of the worst violence in years.

The international community has urged both sides to end the escalation, which follows days of unrest in Jerusalem.

Militants had already fired hundreds of rockets towards Jerusalem and other areas.

Three people have been killed in Israeli areas while at least 28 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli air strikes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier that the main militant group, Hamas, had "crossed a red line" by firing rockets towards Jerusalem for the first time in years.

Hamas, which controls Gaza, says it has been acting to defend Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque from Israeli "aggression and terrorism" after the site, which is holy to Muslims and Jews, saw clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians on Monday that left hundreds injured.

The past few days have seen the worst violence in Jerusalem since 2017. It followed mounting Palestinian anger over the threatened eviction of families from their homes in occupied East Jerusalem by Jewish settlers. Tension had already been stoked by a month of altercations between protesters and police in the predominantly Arab part of the city.

Here is a detailed list of all the aid from USA to Israel

It is a Jew source to I'd multiply everything with 5 :yk

Of course, military support (especially air) and nuclear weapons etc. is worth trillions of USDs.

They have to be one of the most useless militaries/intelligence organizations around :)) Still can't handle a bunch of stone throwing teenagers with carte blanche to do whatever they want! #justsaying

A large tank belonging to the Eilat-Ashkelon oil pipeline was hit by a rocket earlier today and has been on fire for several hours, media is now reporting.

Firefighters have been working to douse the blaze, so far unsuccessfully.

Channel 12 reports there are fears that hazardous materials could be spread by the fire.

Resistance is using excellent tactics here, hurt the Zionists hard.

If Palestine is ever liberated it will not be because of the Arab's. Pakistan, Turkey and Iran will have to combine their power to make such a scenario a reality. The Arab's are finished in every way possible living on centuries old glories achieved by a very different people. They are ignorant people with no military or spiritual power at all, helpless people. I have heard of a hadith that a bird flying overhead will have no where to land such will be the massive number of dead Arab's lying on the ground.

Add Malaysia and the African countries to that.

Ideally Palestine should have accepted the two state solution offered all those years ago.

They never did and now whatever agreement comes to them; even in a best case scenario the Palestinians will end up worse off that the original deal offered to them.

May Allah SWT provide assistanse to the innocent Palestinians from Ghaib. Muslim Ummah is weak today, but better times will come in sha Allah.

It's pathetic to see western countries silence over this. Two seperate nations is an obvious answer. Palestinians need to be smart and work towards that, and leave all the religious sentimental nonsense behind.

What do you want the western countries to do?

If Hamas put down their weapons, there would be peace.

If Israel put down their weapons, there would be no Israel.

A rocket from Gaza killed a father and his daughter in Lod today. They’re Arabs. Hamas doesn’t care.Hamas is not only killing Jews, they’re killing Israeli Arabs too.

I am more interested in how the western countries are responding to this. Don't worry. I am not including Australia when I say western.

Most countries will see this as Hamas provoking Israel and Israel responding a bit too much aggressively. But I'm interested in how you expect other countries to respond when most people are just sick to death of the fighting between the two.

If Hamas put down their weapons, there would be peace.

If Israel put down their weapons, there would be no Israel.

What a pathetic agression sympathising mentality is this. Do you think that by using their weapons against the poor civilians, by killing women and children they are just ensuring their survival?

Do you support this tactic?

Israel has declared a state of emergency in the central city of Lod after rioting by Israeli Arabs, as conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants intensified.

Cars were set alight and 12 people were reported injured in clashes Lod's mayor likened to a civil war.

Palestinian militants fired hundreds of rockets deep into Israel, while Israel carried out heavy airstrikes on Gaza.

At least 40 people have died in some of the worst violence in years.

Palestinian militants said they fired hundreds of missiles at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv after an Israeli air strike demolished a tower block in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Israel's military says it is targeting militants in Gaza in response to rocket attacks on Jerusalem and other areas.

The fighting came after weeks of rising tensions that were stoked by violent confrontations between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters at a site in Jerusalem that is holy to both Muslims and Jews.

The international community has urged both sides to end the escalation. The UN's Middle East peace envoy, Tor Wennesland, said they were "escalating towards a full-scale war".

At least 35 Palestinians, including 10 children, and five Israelis have been killed in the violence so far, according to health officials.

What happened in Lod?

Protests by Israeli Arabs broke out in Lod, a city near Tel Aviv, and escalated to full-scale rioting, with protesters throwing rocks at police, who responded with stun grenades.

The protests followed the funeral of an Israeli Arab man who died during unrest in the city a day earlier.

At least 12 people were injured in the clashes, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported. As night fell, the situation degenerated in Lod, police said.

Israeli media reported that synagogues and several businesses had been set on fire, while Reuters news agency said there were reports of Jews stoning a car that was being driven by an Arab resident.

On Tuesday night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of emergency in Lod. Israeli border police have been brought in from the West Bank.

The conflict between the Israeli military and Palestinian militants in Gaza has stirred unrest among the Arab minority inside Israel, leading to protests.

There has also been unrest in other cities with a large Israeli Arab population, as well as in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

"All of Israel should know, this is a complete loss of control," Lod Mayor Yair Revivo was quoted as saying by the Times of Israel newspaper. "Civil war has erupted in Lod."

The Times of Israel said this was the first time the government had used emergency powers over an Arab community since 1966.

Mr Netanyahu, who went to the city to call for calm, said he would impose a curfew if necessary.

Violence between Israelis and Palestinians escalates toward all-out war

JERUSALEM — Violence between Israelis and Palestinians approached all-out war on Tuesday as rocket attacks on Israeli cities and airstrikes in the Gaza Strip killed dozens, injured hundreds and left thousands of people on both sides cowering under day-long bombardments.

Military officials in both camps girded for the battles to escalate further, with Israel calling up eight battalions of reservists and deploying additional artillery batteries in the communities near Gaza that have become the front line of the confrontation.

Militants from Hamas, which controls Gaza, and the Islamic Jihad group fired more than 500 rockets at towns in coastal and southern Israel, killing at least two in the port city of Ashkelon and one in the city of Rishon LeZion. Israelis across that part of the country, including much of the population of Tel Aviv, hustled into shelters or stairways as air raid sirens sounded again and again. Schools in much of southern Israel were closed.

The onslaught was even fiercer in Gaza, where Israel waged one of its most intense air campaigns since a 2014 war engulfed the sides for more than a month. The Israeli military said it struck more than 500 targets in retaliation for the rocket attacks from Gaza. By Tuesday evening, the Palestinian Health Ministry said the strikes had killed 30 Gazans, including 10 children, and injured about 200 others.

Israeli aircraft attacked targets across much of the 141-square-mile Palestinian enclave, including what the Israeli military said were two tunnels used to launch attacks and apartment buildings housing military commanders.

“We go to great lengths to strike only military targets,” said Israeli army spokesman Jonathan Conricus. “They are in houses, courtyards, near schools and mosques.”

The Israeli military said that at least 15 of those killed were Palestinian military officers or combatants. He said the army would conduct an investigation into reports of children killed and blamed Hamas for embedding weapons and launch sites in civilian areas.

Islamic Jihad acknowledged that two of its commanders were killed in Israeli airstrikes. One, Sameh Fahim Hasham al-Mamlouk, 34, was commander of its missile unit in northern Gaza, the group said.

But images from the Shati refugee camp near Gaza City illustrated the wider impact of airstrikes, showing scenes of destruction after the top floor of a residential building was apparently struck. The building’s concrete roof had collapsed onto the apartment below, where residents were shown picking through rubble.

India, US call for calm as Israel-Hamas escalate aerial attacks l Latest updates

India, US and several other countries have called for calm after tensions between Israel and Palestine escalated. At least 35 people were killed in Gaza and five in Israel in the most intensive aerial exchanges for years. Israel even claimed to have killed several Hamas intelligence leaders. This is the highest escalation between the two sides since the 2014 war. US called on both sides to de-escalate and maintain calm. ‘Israel has the right to defend itself and to respond to rocket attacks. The Palestinian people also have the right to safety and security, just as Israelis do,’ a top US official said. India also called on both parties to avoid changing the status-quo on ground. 'Pakistan highly condemns attack on Palestinians by Israeli forces'

Foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said Pakistan highly condemns the ongoing attacks by Israel’s military forces on the people of Palestine during which at least 20 Palestinians have died and several others injured.

During a press conference in Islamabad, the FM said that attack on worshipers at Al-Aqsa mosque was against any norm and Pakistan completely agrees with the Palestinian point of view.

The Israeli military has pounded Gaza with airstrikes through the early hours of Tuesday, in a dramatic escalation of clashes in Jerusalem. Nine children were among the 20 dead in Gaza and scores of rockets were launched into Israel, many that were intercepted by missile defences.

FM Qureshi said his Turkish counterpart shared that he would be calling an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the matter.

“He also shared with me that an emergency session of the United Nation on the matter was also under consideration,” the FM said adding that it required a consensus.

He added that this forceful eviction and aggression from Israeli forces needed to immediately halt whereas the international community also needed to mobilise on a priority basis.

“If the international community is worried about that Hamas fired rockets then they would also be worried about the rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas fired upon the worshipers,” Qureshi added asking under which law such force was used.

Talking about Prime Minister Imran Khan's three-day visit to Saudi Arabia, the FM said that it was ‘extraordinary’.

“All the meetings had unprecedented fervour about our relations,” the FM said. “This shows that our relations are extraordinary. Both countries understand the depth it has and it is the necessity of both countries to take it forward.”

Talking about the MoUs signed between the two countries, the foreign minister said that a structured mechanism to enhance the bilateral ties had been put in place.

Qureshi added that the security, politics, economics, culture and promotion of soft image, had been decided as the pillars (talking points) whereas who would lead the discussions on them had also been decided.

Mentioning one of the MoUs, the FM said that Saudi Arabia would provide $500 million to Pakistan from the Saudi Development Fund to be used for the development of infrastructure, water resources, and hydropower projects in Pakistan.

He further said that a Saudi delegation would visit the country after Eid to discuss matters pertaining to the visit of the Saudi crown prince and the foreign minister to Pakistan.

Talking about the Afghan peace process, Qureshi said Director General of the Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed appraised him about Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa's visit to Afghanistan and the meeting with President Ashraf Ghani.

“Pakistan wants to reassure that we would facilitate them in the peace process,” he said adding that DG ISI took him into confidence that the meeting was a ‘good way forward on the peace process.’

The FM reiterated that Pakistan had decided not to intervene in Afghanistan's internal matters adding that peace in Afghanistan would benefit the entire region.

The foreign minister also said that the seizure of uranium in India was worrisome and stressed that media needed to play an important role to highlight the issue as well.

He added that the foreign office’s statement alone was not enough.

“Seven kilograms of uranium were found in India but it was not highlighted in media,” the FM lamented. “If such thing had happened in Pakistan, the Indian media would have taken us to town by now.”

Talking about IIOJK, the FM said that the Modi-led government's Kashmir policy was being criticized from within India.

“A large section in India considers the BJP government's Kashmir policy a failure. The prime minister has previously said Pakistan would take two steps forward towards peace if India takes one,” he said.

Do Palestine people have no other alternative to Hamas?

Nethanyahu is in political strife domestically and what do you know, there is suddenly a marked increase in violence.

This happens time and time again. He has been pushing this for the past week, and I think the storming and burning of parts of Al Aqsa got the reaction he wanted

No one should forget when in 2014 he was projected to loose and election and then launched a ground offensive in Gaza. This was on the pretense that hamas ordered the murder of 3 Israeli kids. So started a conflict that killed thousands, including the largest loss of Israeli military in years. It worked though, Nethanyahu won, and months later the Israeli police stated that they doubted that Hamas leadership had anything to do with the murders.

Israel-Gaza violence: Death toll rises as UN envoy warns of 'heading to full-scale war'

Barrages of rockets have streamed out of Gaza while Israeli jets pounded the territory in return, in the most severe outbreak of violence since the 2014 war.

Several of the rockets fired by Hamas militants in Gaza stuck Israel's largest city Tel Aviv overnight.

The Israeli military says a thousand Hamas rockets have been fired at a number of Israeli towns and cities since Monday - part of a cycle of violence which has developed fast.

The Hamas rocket fire has, at times, overwhelmed Israel's missile defences, causing air raid sirens and explosions to echo across Tel Aviv, and other cities.

Meanwhile Israeli airstrikes have flattened two apartment towers in the Gaza Strip, where two million Palestinians have lived under a crippling Israeli-Egyptian blockade since Hamas took power in 2007.

The Israeli military insists it was used as a Hamas operations and intelligence centre.

Elsewhere, rioting and civil unrest has broken out.

Liverpool forwards Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have called for an intervention in the Israel-Palestine conflict after a severe escalation of violence in recent days.

Salah urged world leaders including Prime Minister Boris Johnson to “end the killing of innocent people” amid rocket attacks and airstrikes between the two sides.

The Egyptian footballer said “enough is enough” in a post on Twitter in which he mentioned the Prime Minister’s official account, although he did not reveal what it was in reference to.
Senegalese forward Mane published a “Free Palestine” poster on his official Instagram account with the caption “Heartbreaking”.

Salah tweeted: “I’m calling on all the world leaders including on the Prime Minister of the country that has been my home for the past 4 years to do everything in their power to make sure the violence and killing of innocent people stops immediately. Enough is enough.”

The posts come after at least 40 deaths following weeks of tensions, which has led to calls for a de-escalation on all sides from the international community.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab is among those to have called for an end to ongoing violence, urging for an “end to targeting of civilian populations”.

Rockets streamed out of Gaza and Israel pounded the territory with airstrikes early on Wednesday as the most severe outbreak of violence since the 2014 war took on many hallmarks of that devastating 50-day conflict, with no endgame in sight.

Gaza’s Hamas rulers and other militant groups have fired barrages of hundreds of rockets that at times have overwhelmed Israel’s missile defenses, causing air raid sirens and explosions to echo across Tel Aviv, Israel’s biggest metropolitan area, and other cities.

Israeli airstrikes have levelled two apartment towers in the Gaza Strip, where two million Palestinians have lived under a crippling Israeli-Egyptian blockade since Hamas took power in 2007. Warning shots have allowed civilians to evacuate the buildings, but the material losses will be immense. Israel faced heavy criticism over the tactic during the 2014 war.

Just after daybreak on Wednesday, Israel unleashed dozens of airstrikes in the course of a few minutes, targeting police and security installations, witnesses said. A wall of dark grey smoke rose over Gaza City. The Hamas-run Interior Ministry said airstrikes destroyed the central police headquarters in Gaza City, a compound with several buildings.

The death toll in Gaza rose to 35 Palestinians, including 12 children and three women, according to the Health Ministry. Some 233 people were wounded. Five Israelis, including three women and a child, were killed by rocket fire Tuesday and early Wednesday, and dozens of people were wounded.

The Israeli military said militants have fired more 1,050 rockets since the conflict began, with 200 of them falling short and landing inside Gaza. The military said it also shot down a drone that entered Israel from Gaza. Lt Col Jonathan Conricus, a military spokesman, said two infantry brigades were sent to the area, indicating preparations for a possible ground invasion.

Samah Haboub, a mother of four in Gaza, said she was thrown across her bedroom in a “moment of horror” by an airstrike on an apartment tower next door. She and her children, aged three to 14, ran down the stairway of their apartment block along with other residents, many of them screaming and crying.

“There is almost no safe place in Gaza,” she said.

The destruction of apartment towers was among several tactics used during the 2014 war that are now the subject of an investigation by the International Criminal Court into possible war crimes. Israel is not a member of the court and has rejected the probe.

In a brief statement, ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said she had noted “with great concern” the escalation of violence in the region and “the possible commission of crimes under the Rome Statute” that established the court.

Conricus said Israeli forces have strict rules of engagement and follow international laws on armed conflict. “We are definitely very mindful of civilian casualties in Gaza and we want to minimise them,” he said. “That’s the priority.”

The latest eruption of violence began a month ago in Jerusalem, where heavy-handed police tactics during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the threatened eviction of dozens of Palestinian families by Jewish settlers ignited protests and clashes with police. A focal point was the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, a holy site sacred to Jews and Muslims.

Israel and Hamas have fought three wars since the Islamic militant group seized power in Gaza from rival Palestinian forces in 2007. The conflicts ended after regional and international powers convinced both sides to accept an informal truce.

While the violence has been widely condemned, there is no sign that either side is willing to back down. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to expand the offensive, saying “this will take time”.

The unrest in Jerusalem has spread across Israel itself, with an outbreak of communal violence in mixed Jewish-Arab communities, as Hamas has called for a full-scale Palestinian intifada, or uprising. The last such uprising also began with violence at the Al-Aqsa mosque, in 2000, and lasted more than five years.

The Gaza Health Ministry said the 35 dead include 12 children and 3 women, with another 233 people wounded. Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Kidra said the targeting of residential neighborhoods left people “in a state of panic”.

In the Israeli city of Lod, a 52-year-old man and his 16-year-old daughter were killed early Wednesday when a rocket had landed in the courtyard of their one-story home. Their car parked outside was wrecked and the interior of the house was filled by debris.

Lod also saw heavy clashes after thousands of mourners joined a funeral for an Arab man killed by a suspected Jewish gunman the previous night. The crowd fought with police, and set a synagogue and some 30 vehicles, including a police car, on fire, Israeli media reported. Paramedics said a 56-year-old man was seriously hurt after his car was pelted with stones.

“An intifada erupted in Lod, you have to bring in the army,” the city’s mayor, Yair Revivo, said. Authorities have declared a state of emergency and ordered the redeployment of nine paramilitary border police companies from the occupied West Bank as reinforcements.

In neighboring Ramle, ultra-nationalist Jewish demonstrators were filmed attacking cars belonging to Arabs. In the northern port town of Acre, protesters torched a Jewish-owned restaurant and hotel. Police said they arrested more than 150 people involved in “disturbances and riots” overnight in northern and central Israel.

Confrontations erupted last weekend at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which is the third-holiest site in Islam and the holiest site in Judaism. Over four days, Israeli police fired tear gas and stun grenades at Palestinians in the compound who hurled stones and chairs at the forces. At times, police fired stun grenades into the carpeted mosque.

On Monday evening, Hamas began firing rockets from Gaza. From there on, the escalation was rapid.

In a televised address, Hamas’ exiled leader, Ismail Haniyeh, said Israel bore responsibility. “It’s the Israeli occupation that set Jerusalem on fire, and the flames reached Gaza,” he said.

Hamas has not commented on Israel’s claims that it has killed a number of senior militants. Islamic Jihad confirmed that three senior commanders were killed in a strike on their hideout in a Gaza City apartment building.

The Israeli military on Wednesday released footage of an airstrike on what it said was the house of Salih Dahman, a “high-ranking operative” in Hamas, where weapons were stored.

Earlier, the military said it struck a building where Hassan Qahwaji and Wael Issa, two senior members of Hamas’ military intelligence wing, were present. Hamas activists tweeted that the two were killed in the strike in Gaza City, along with a woman and her son.

Netanyahu said Israel had attacked hundreds of targets. The fiercest attack was a set of airstrikes that brought down an entire 12-story building. The building housed important Hamas offices, as well as a gym and some start-up businesses. Israel fired a series of warning shots before demolishing the building, allowing people to flee and there were no casualties.

Israeli aircraft heavily damaged another Gaza City building early Wednesday. The nine-story structure housed residential apartments, medical companies and a dental clinic. A drone fired five warning rockets before the bombing. Israel said the building housed Hamas intelligence offices and the group’s command responsible for planning attacks on Israeli targets in the occupied West Bank.

Fighter jets struck the building again after journalists and rescuers had gathered around. There was no immediate word on casualties.

Soon after the bombing, Hamas announced that it would resume its attacks, and fired 100 rockets at the Israeli desert town of Beersheba. Hamas said the renewed barrage was in response to the strike on the building.

Diplomats sought to intervene, with Qatar, Egypt and the United Nations working to deliver a cease-fire. All three serve as mediators between Israel and Hamas.

The UN Security Council planned to hold its second closed emergency meeting in three days on Wednesday regarding the escalating violence, an indication of growing international concern. Council diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity because discussions have been private, said the UN’s most powerful body did not issue a statement because of US concerns that it could escalate tensions.

On my social media there has been lots of posts about Palestine and raising awareness. Also in my city , there was a protest about what is happening in Palestine and I think the intention was to put pressure on Boris Johnson to take action against Israel.

Do you think Muslims should not raise awareness??

The more awareness we can raise about the plight of the Palestinians, the more funds we can raise and the more we can help them. They need our prayers.

I agree the polls like the ones you've seen doesn't accomplish anything.

What I would like to see more from Muslims, especially Sunni Pakistanis (like myself), is to show the same energy when it comes to atrocities committed against minorities in Muslim countries.

What's wrong with me voicing solidarity for Palestinians and minorities in Pakistan?

Raise awareness for whom? The vast majority of countries have already showed that they do not care about the Palestine cause and have forged diplomatic, economic and strategic ties with Israel.

It is not an issue of lack of awareness - they are aware, but they do not care because it does not serve their interests. States look after their interests, not what is right and what is wrong.

This situation is truly tragic.

People like you are the only ones in denial. You need to wake up and make peace with reality - the Palestinian cause is getting weaker and weaker because more and more Muslim countries are forging ties with Israel because that is where money is.

Pakistan has not, cannot and will not do jack about this conflict. It can only offer verbal criticism which it has done since May 14, 1948 when Israel was created.

I think the hope is if you raise awareness that there maybe action against Israel. But it seems like you think it is pretty hopeless to raise awareness or protest.

Most countries will see this as Hamas provoking Israel and Israel responding a bit too much aggressively. But I'm interested in how you expect other countries to respond when most people are just sick to death of the fighting between the two.

Most countries dont They see it as apartied occupiers illegally grabbing land Provoking palestinians with violence and when they resist call them as aggressors

Its just a few unfortunately in power who turn a blind to evil and paint a different narrative to condone this barbarism

Your understanding in armed conflicts has been shown, you suggested India can waltz into Pak airspace, target public buildings and fly back out, the reality was different.

The reality is that Pakistan cannot do anything. It cannot even climb out of FATF grey list and lost whatever international credibility it had when OBL was found half a mile from a military base in Abbottabad.

As far as India is concerned, again, Pakistan cannot do jack. It has started multiple wars on Kashmir and achieved nothing. In fact, it cost them East Pakistan.

Kashmir has been under siege since August 5, 2019. What has Pakistan done over the last 21 months? Absolutely nothing, other than firing missiles on Twitter and imploring the international community to stand up against India only to get snubbed by most countries including Muslim states.

Apart from his legacy as the most incompetent PM in Pakistan history, Imran Khan, from the perspective of the Pakistan-India conflict, will be remembered as the Pakistani PM on whose watch India removed Kashmir’s special status and he could not do anything about it.

That will be his lasting legacy with respect to India, not his bosses shooting a 50 year old plane and taking a pilot hostage for a few hours.

Israel have stated multiple times that they do not wish to change the status-quo. However, if they decide to do so, who will stand in the way? No one.

The UN is a useless organization controlled by the powerful states, all of whom back Israel. More and more Muslim countries are also forging strong ties with Israel because that is where their money is.

The Palestinian cause has no future irrespective of your dreams and fantasies.

lol. Brining in LFC and a player from 20 years ago, the level of your debating skills is evident.

Liverpool signed him 14 years ago, and I am sure you were old enough in 2007 to spend money on Liverpool.

If you really had the courage to put your money where your mouth is, you would have stopped giving money to a football club that pays salary to an Israeli footballer and more importantly, you would have left the UK because it has strong ties with Israel and does trade worth billions of £.

This why is Israel’s position in the conflict continues to get stronger. Muslim countries do not care because Israel is where the money is, and people like you can only offer verbal criticism because you are not willing to do anything practical about it.

Supporting Liverpool and living in the UK means more to you than the Palestinian cause, and that is why there is no pressure on Israel to cut down its atrocities.

Can the military historians here answer a simple question ?

How was it that Pakistan, an entity that didn't exist before 1947, was able to take one-thirds of Kashmir fighting a country six times its population - meanwhile the Arabs and Palestinians, got wiped out in 1948 and 1967 when the military balance was far more equal than today, who are now scrambling to keep 22% (which is diminishing due to settlement activity) of Historic Palestine ?
