He went unsold in the IPL. Huge injustice

Amazing work from him

How does he not make a 10 team IPL? He will smash the life out of the 80mph local trundlers

Has been tremendous, although I didn’t have much hope from him, he was really fired up and kept this team well gelled along with Hafeez.

A nice player to have for LQ. They seemed to have the most settled foreign contingent of players in the squad.

They can’t tolerate players who are loyal to PSL or are big names in PSL just plain hatred towards Pakistan that’s it

What a great cricketer. A real shame South Africa didn't give him more chances. He could have been a real star for them.

His bowling was never good enough

He averaged 20.4 with the ball for South Africa in T20Is in 23 matches and had a 5 wicket haul to his name aswell. So I don't know what makes you say that.

A leader on and off the pitch:

Love this especially on how he used data points, a true Qalandar at heart.

He was the best player for Namibia during the last World T20.

Very capable player.

He is very decent player and he played exceptionally well for Lahore.
But one thing i don't understand his name is Wiese but commentators always pronounce his name wrong like weesey or something like that.
Commentators should get his name right.

Don’t tell me he was talking about Multan Sultans boundary percentage? :)))

Doing a great job for Superchargers in The Hundred

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the overseas signing of David Wiese for 2023 and rookie contract for Yash Vagadia.

Wiese will represent the Yorkshire Vikings in the Vitality Blast following a successful spell at Headingley with the Northern Superchargers this summer.

The all-rounder is vastly experienced in T20 and franchise cricket and will offer added strength with both bat and ball.

The 37-year-old has taken over 250 List A T20 wickets and scored 3,666 runs to date, producing match winning moments in The Hundred last season.

Darren Gough, The Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Managing Director of Cricket said: “I am thrilled that we have got David over the line so early. David is a proven winner who will offer us some vital experience in the T20 format.

“His desire to constantly improve his game is one of the reasons why he has been so successful around the world.”

Wiese said: “I am delighted to have signed with Yorkshire CCC for the T20 blast.

“I really enjoyed myself at Headingley during The Hundred and look forward to be part of such a prestigious club.”

Speaking to the media in PSL 8:

“I am excited to be back, this is my fifth year now with Qalandars. So, it's a place that I've come in, I've enjoyed being over here playing, enjoyed my time with the team, coming back as defending champions now, it's a bit different for us.

“We the team that everybody is chasing, now we've got a target on our back. So hopefully, we can put in a couple more good performances and put ourselves in a good position coming into the final part of the tournament"

“One of our strength over the years is our bowling attack, specifically, the death bowling. We saw the other night again, how Shaheen and Zaman executed their skills in the death overs to win us that game. So, we have got one of the strongest bowling attacks, then with Rashid Khan coming in just strengthens that a lot. So, I think we've got all our bases covered this season"

“Lahore has been the team that gave me opportunity when I wasn't playing in a lot of the leagues. they backed me, and, you know, I've fortunately done well for them. I've enjoyed success with, and it's a team that have backed me and have always had belief in me. I'm appreciative of that"

“Qalandars have always been big on talent development. And, we see that with the PDP programs that they have, guys coming through the talent development, like Haris Rauf, he's one that shows that there's so much talent out there and Qalandars have been able to unearth this talent"

“We didn’t have much success against them initially but we have over the last couple years done well against them"

“Tactically he backs himself, he backs his instinct, and most of the time he gets a glance. I think everybody was surprised at how good a captain he actually was last season. The other thing that stands out for me with Shaheen is that he's not afraid to go ask people for advice. He's not afraid to go to other people and see what their opinions are. And then he takes on their opinions and then make the decision for himself., that's the mark of a good captain and a good leader,”

Done it again for LQ! No pace to speak off but the heart of a lion and de facto captain for Lahore.

Took 3/17 against IU

The knuckle ball does the magic for David Wiese. He claimed a scalp so far. Can he inflict more damage on England in their ongoing T20 WC encounter?

He is still going strong at this age. The most important player for Namibia. But age is catching up to him and I think it was the right time for him to retire.
