What's new

[VIDEOS] What has happened to Hassan Ali recently?

I think we are embarrassing ourselves by being satisfied with little achievement. Mashrsfee with his 120 kph bowling has been gifted Member of Parliament, we all know it wasn’t a fair election and now fans like you think he has achieved everything in cricket. He hasn’t even won an Asia Cup, let alone a World Cup. He gets a free license in the team as he has done a lot for cricket, what has he done ?

Because of minnow mentality fans we Have a Mashrafee not an Imran Khan. A hack with both ball and bat and a liability in the field.

Oh and enjoy Tamim dancing down the wicket like a chicken after blocking 20 balls and scoring a duck. Only in a country like Bangladesh we hail losers like Tamim, Mashrafee, Mushfiq as big 5 :yk

Neighbouring countries have won World Cup and they have match winners. Whom do we have apart from Shakib? Oh Mashrafee MP :inti

Ashraful_Rox you are very fine poster . Always enjoy your humour keep posting more 🙂

That's why Haris Rauf shouldve been selected another right armer in case somebody wasn't performing which was very likely with the pitches.
The idea to play Abbas was all wrong on flatter wickets he was cannon fodder but yesterday he could've had some affect with his line and length.

Been saying this again and again.. How could Hasnain have been worse than this guy?..His stats in this WC would be drop dead embarrassing for a part time bowler, let alone a specialist one.

Loose and pathetic deserves to not be in the squad even should be sent back home. Giving freebies to that mental midget Rohit Sharma who was'nt even touching the scrambled seam delivery of Amir.

This should be the last match of this guys career.

He bowled better in his second spell again, like against Australia, but just too many bad balls thrown in as well. He's turned into a Razzaq but not as good with the bat.

He needs to toil in the domestics.Far too inconsistent with his deliveries.
Enough of the national team for him.
The sight of him irritates me.

Hasnain should replace him for the South Africa game. I would say Shaeen but we can't have 3 left arm quicks. It's too predictable.

Hasan Ali seems to have lost his way and his confidence . He needs to be dropped and after the WC he needs to go away and work on his game. I am fan of his but seeing no zip in his bowling is extremely depressing .

lol, yeah Rohit Sharma is a mental midget, so true! How dearly Pakistan wishes to have 2-3 such mental midgets?

Should have been rested before WC like Amir, and added later to squad. Unfortunately, his selection says more about our bowling stocks, than it does about him.

He’s done. With his stature margin of error was always minimal and these days he is bowling 5 garbage deliveries per over

His height has caught up with him.

Need to back the likes of Shaheen, Shinwari, Hasnain for the future along with Aamir.

Great point

He is just too short with this sort of pace to make any impact. He should be discarded for good

I'm not sure he was ever really good was he?

Anyhow, I'm just pleased he stopped that nauseating wicket celebration.

Sohail tanvir said Hasan is only effective when ball is reversing and needs to hit top of off stump regularly. Tanvir says he learnt this in county cricket.
Can Hasan be effective again and serve Pakistan in long term???

Loss of form followed by loss of confidence. He will be back with a bang. Needs support and time.

I thought he'd be amongst the top wicket-takers, instead he's looked a shadow of the bowler he should have been.

Whatever is going on with him, it needs sorting out.

Looks like the superstar syndrome to me. He couldn’t handle the fame and love that he recieved after the CT17 heroics.

When you become a instant hero, you focus on becoming a better cricketer.

Instead he like many others have, chose to focus on the celeb life. Nothing in his game has improved, lack of training and working on the game has clearly made him a shadow of the player he once use to be.

He knows how poor he has been and I am sure he will work on it - but this a reminder for those fans that were foolishly calling him world class.

Another one falling into that trap.

Time is on his side but there's a lot of work to be done.

I think it’s a clear case of “No reverse, No effect”.

The last time he was successful (15 wickets) was in the home Test series against NZ where the ball was able to reverse swing.

You take that away with the pitches in the WC and he begins to look for other ways to get wickets. Unfortunately, he does not have height so bounce can be easily negated which is why his length deliveries are easily feasted upon.

Maybe some time away will help. Genuinely thought he was a world class bowler. Really hope he can make a come back.

Playing in useless T10 leagues won't make him a better cricketer.

He needs to get his priorities right.

heard hasan along with other few cricketers are staying in england after worldcup
i was just wondering is there county stint on the cards for him

Went at 4.54 and 5.66 RPO in his opening QEA Trophy match.

He was bowling leg stump tripe in the 2nd innings, bowli g only 3 overs before being hauled out of the attack and replaced by the spinners.

What is going on with him ?

He's lost that accuracy he once had. He was never amazingly quick or could swing it around corners but he was always bowling it on a fourth stump line with a good length and nipping it around off the seam. Al he needs to do is get that back, he did get it back briefly in the PSL, was getting batsmen out bowled and LBW.

The fame has got to his head. I hate these arrogant cricketers who are showoff's like Shada, Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim. We should only select humble, hard workers that are good for team spirit

Imad Wasim has been consistently performing... i dont see how his name can be used in the same sentence as Hassan Ali and Shadab ... Hassan Ali is easily the most useless player in the WC squad (by miles, worse than Shoaib Malik and to do tht is an effort on its own) ... no hunger in his game , no willingness to improve or work hard... just a shame and shame ...

What are his priorities is the question he needs to ask himself. Is that same hunger and intensity still there?

That's the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. Hasan isn't an extraordinary bowler. Ordinary bowlers have short peak followed by long....draught

Hassan was on fire during CT 2017. However, after that, he started to fade away.

I think teams have figured him out and he also lost form.

Not included in the Pakistan ODI squad for SL series

"Hasan Ali misses out his place in the side due to a back spasm. He will undergo rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore."

Misbah on Hasan Ali today

""Hasan Ali's confidence has been low as for the past year or so, his performances havent been that good"
"But he is putting in a lot of effort in 4-days also, and with Waqar Younis here, he will work with Hasan to sort out out some of the issues with his bowling"

the fame has gotton to his head.. he thinks he is ir-replaceable and sure shot in the XI always ...

shld be kicked out of the national XIz and first XI in Quaid e Azam Trophy first XI ...

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali fails to recover from back pain

Fast bowler Hasan Ali has failed to recover from back pain, and his participation in the ongoing National T20 Cup in Faisalabad hangs in the balance.

"He is still nursing the pain in his back and has not yet recovered fully to take part in the competitive cricket," sources in the National Cricket Academy here where the bowler is under treatment, said on Wednesday.

They said at the moment, Hasan was not taking part in gym training and bowling practice and the experts were reviewing his condition after every two days.

"There is no improvement in his condition and he still needs treatment and rehabilitation," the sources said.

Hasan missed out Pakistan's one day and T20 home series against Sri Lanka due to the same back problem.

The latest condition of the pace bowler has also put a question mark on his availability for Pakistan's next month tour to Australia for a T20 series of three matches and two Test matches.

Hopefully this means he won't be going to Australia.

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali is likely to miss the upcoming tour of Australia as he is still recovering from a back injury.

The 25-year-old had missed the recent ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka at home for the same injury and may now additionally be dropped from the 16-man squad for the series against Australia.

According to the sources, the doctors has advised Hasan to rest for three more weeks as he has not yet fully recovered to play competitive cricket.

The bowler also missed the ongoing National T20 Cup in Faisalabad, he was keen to play the last two matches of the tournament but after the doctors’ instructions, Hasan returned from Faisalabad without playing a match.

Pakistan will play three T20 matches in the first leg of the series against Australia, starting from November 3.

The squad for the T20 series will be announced next week.

His recent form has not been great anyways, perfect time for him to go back to the saw pit, be required to play domestic cricket and stake a claim for a comeback after showing good form, fitness

Injured or not he has not done enough recently to merit a place in the side.

Misbah thinks otherwise. During the World Cup, even when Hasan was bowling rubbish, he only had praise for him.

Hasan was seleted for the Sri Lanke and only injury kept him out. I have no doubt he would have been selected for Australia if he wasn't injured.

Mark my words, Misbah will bring him back as soon as he is fit. Misbah was very impressed by Hasan Ali after he went at 10 RPO against the Windies in the World Cup.

Need to take a sabbatical from all sorts of T20 cricket for at least 12 months, if not 24, minutes away including PSL - play plenty of domestic red ball cricket and try to get motive batting as well. His career is facing the biggest threat and his best option now is to make LO side as No. 8 (bowling all rounder). On pure bowling merit, he is way behind the packing order already.

Bhangra was actually fun while it lasted but was over too quickly just like his career, sad 😔.

Touché

I doubt he'll be back and it's good for us. He's just not a good bowler anymore.
He's earned enough money for himself and can no longer be asked to play with determination and we don't want him anymore so it's a win-win for both of us I guess

Currently he is in Dubai,if i am not wrong.
Judging by his wife's posts they are having a vacation.

why does he need a vacation. he never earned it. Fodder needs to be training hard. Useless guy. Fame got to his head. I despise players like him that just lack the motivation to keep Improving their game.

Any way he isn't missed at all.
shaheen naseem sameen husnain are more than enough.

you can't say he isn't a good bowler. at his best he was devastating. He has attitude issues. He lacks the drive. He started seeing too much green and now refuses to work hard. Happens to a lot of young players.

Its too early to write off Hasan, although he was very poor in the WC and has lost his way. Needs to go back to basics and look at getting control back, his bowling against Ind especially towards the end was just appalling because he had no control as to where the ball was going

As poor as he's been in the last year, he's still only 25, so I don't get why you're saying his career is over?

He isn't making a comeback even if he does wouldn't be quarter as successful as his little purple patch during CT. With the likes of Hasnain, Nasim being blooded in already he is gonna find it increasingly difficult to get a game. He was never a prodigy like Nasim or Shaheen nor a tear away talent like Shoaib or pre-ban Amir. He was just extremely lucky that his purple patch and CT coincided. He is not express, can't extract proper bounce due to height, not economical, doesn't swing the new ball, doesn't have controlled Yorkers, only thing that got him going was the one that seams back in retaining most of the release speed due to skidding, which btw can be easily negotiated with some analysis, that's what the batsmen did and now he has nothing to offer. If he was a learner he would have evolved and developed multiple skill sets by now but he didn't, why? cuz he never had it in him to begin with. He did his bit, punched far above and beyond his weight and got his name sealed in Pak history with the CT heroics and with the emergence of much better prospects it is time for fans to appreciate his achievements and move on.

Exactly what I was trying to convey, good for your team that he is out. With new bloods coming in pretty sure he won't be missed either. Seeing how excited Pak folks here about Shaheen and Nasim it seems he is already kind of forgotten, sad but just my observation.

If there was ever a chance for Hassan to get his career back on track, this is it. With Waqar around, I think Hasan can come back with the same form or even better. He only has to get his head down from the clouds

I agree.Needs to be training really really hard instead of taking breaks. His place in the side is in danger with the surge of new fast bowlers.

Personally not missing him at all, given his OTT behavior and poor performances in the past months.

Musa Is Already Looking a Better bowler Then Hasan Ali Was Earlier this Year so Don't See Why Someone wants Hasan Ali back
Unless He Finds His 2017 form back No Chance

I stand by what I have said all along.

Hasan Ali is too short to be a specialist Test bowler.

But he has the potential to be a fast-medium all-rounder if he stops the dumb Afridi slogging.

Goodness knows at Adelaide next week Pakistan are going to be desperate for a guy who can bowl 15 overs per day at 135K as fourth seamer and average 30 with the bat.

Hasan Ali has received terrible advice from people who should know that he is too short to be a specialist fast bowler.

They should have said "Do what Steve Smith did before he became a specialist batsman - work like crazy on your batting and turn yourself into an all-rounder who bats a bit and bowls a bit."

Hasan Ali could have been what Pakistan really needs in Tests: a guy who bats at 8 and who in Asia is the second quick and outside Asia is the fourth quick.

IN ASIA
6. Rizwan (wk)
7. Shadab Khan (3rd spinner after Yasir exits, LBG)
8. Hasan Ali (2nd quick)
9. Zafar Gohar (specialist spinner SLA)
10. Sajid Khan (specialist spinner OB)
11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

OUTSIDE ASIA
6. Rizwan (wk)
7. Shadab Khan (spin-bowling all-rounder, LBG)
8. Hasan Ali (4th quick)
9. Sameen Gul (3rd quick)
10. Naseem Shah (2nd quick)
11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

Hasan ali is our best prospect of a fast bowling allrounder.
Dont know if he would be any good in tests, but in odis and t20s, if he works really hard on his batting and tries to recapture his form in bowling, could be a star for pakistan
