"Mohammad Rizwan sucked up all the oxygen": Jarrod Kimber

Jarrod Kimber reviewed Pakistan's loss to India in the ICC Champtions Trophy, 2025. In it, he also deep dives into Rizwan's slooooow approach, which I have segmented in a separate video.

In it, he makes the case that he is just too slow. This we know already, but when it's plotted on graphs, it is just a lot more apparent and starteling to see. He also points out that when Rizwan attacks, he is too reckless because he is not a natrually attacking player and is more vulnerable when he deems it time to step up. In this approach, he just sucks up all the oxygen from the innings leaving everyone under pressure.

In the past, this approach may have worked because we had a lower order capable of hitting. But these days, our lower order also struggles to find the boundary.

What is interesting to me is that there is a lot of mainstream media now exposing the slow approach of Riz-Bar. And so many pundits have also criticized them. Something that was almost sacred a year ago. But now it's reaching a breaking point.

After Babar's 64 (90) against New Zealand and Rizwan's 46 (77) against India, I wonder if their days are now numbered in the white-ball format.

He is not a white ball batter.

Most teams have at least 3 world class WK batters , several teams are playing two WK batters in the playing XI , Pakistan have none.

Its sad to see such shallow bench strength .

Biggest problem with Pakistan is that it doesn’t have any real middle order batsmen. They are all makeshift. Kushdil struggled, Tayyib didn’t bother anyone and Agha’s lucky run ended.

To make it worse, Babar is not an opener but the team management stuck to that delusion.

And then you have a bowling attack that can’t even defend 350.

It’s a totally joke selection and team management.

you can't have Babar and Rizwan in the same white-ball team
there is only room for 1 accumulator

Nooooo, how can Rizwan the T20 champ be out?

These two will be stinking it up in 2026 and you know it will happen.

It’s up to skipper Saim to decide the fate of these two being the future captain.

If Saim doesn’t want them, we have no choice but to honour his stand.

Time to move on from big players. They are just big on social media in terms of fame but on the field these guys are kittens..

Need a 360 degree revamp of the team

There is always replacement talks comes in for big players whenever we fail as a team in important matches. I am watching this circus from last 20 years since instarted watching cricket. Our team is always in a rebuilding state.
If we bring new players they will also fail miserably at some point. We won 2 important away ODI series with somehow same team (except saim who was phenomenal)

The answer everyone knows that these guys don't deserve to play odi and T20 and should be dropped but the sad thing these two will be opening in T20 World 2026.
