Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma get married in Italy

Wasn’t Sangeeta bijlani about to get married to Salman Khan as well?? Azhar was still a big name back then his name took a hit after match fixing saga before that even when not playing good he was still a big name..

Yes she was.Azhar was not on the level of Kohli and Sangeeta was a a lolfer in bollywood.

The last such wedding was Nawab Of Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore.

Both very headstrong people who apparently don't give a damn.

Oh yea I didn’t mean on the same level as Kohli.. Direct competition with Kohli in terms of popularity few cricketers can have he will probably go down as 2nd most popular cricketer from India.. Still Azhar was a big name in 90’s he wasn’t someone like a BK or Raina he was probably like a Sehwag or Dravid kind of popular.. But yea Pataudi-Tagore wedding was a huge deal like Kohli-Anushka..

Azhar-Sangeeta can be treated like Zaheer-Sagarika or Bhajji-Geeta..

Beautiful couple, and cricketers tend to do play better after marriage, expecting Kohli to massacre the overseas bowlers

She was never a A list actress.

Yes I wasn’t talking about her career but the career and popularity of the men she dated during her time..Salman and Azhar were top names back then well Salman is the biggest still..

TBH Anushka isn’t the biggest female actress of Bollywood herself right now but she is definitely in the second tier..

Inside Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli's Mumbai Reception. The Bachchans Lead Celeb Roll Call

NEW DELHI: The time has arrived for Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's final wedding function - the much awaited reception at Mumbai's St. Regis. Soon after guests started arriving, Virat and Anushka made a stunning appearance in Sabyasachi couture. Anushka looked resplendent in a sequinned smokey grey lehenga while Virat complimented her in an indigo velvet navy bandhgala and pants. Anushka accessorised with exclusive hand-crafted jewellery also designed by Sabyasachi - a brilliant neckpiece with rose cut diamonds, solitaires, briolettes and Japanese baroque pearls to go with a one piece stud earring. Virat's accessories included hand crafted vintage gold buttons.

The lavish Mumbai reception is the second part of the post wedding festivities after Virushka had a big fat Punjabi reception in New Delhi's Taj Diplomatic Enclave last week. The actress and the cricketer had a fairytale wedding in a faraway destination - they married at a heritage resort in the Italian countryside of Tuscany on December 11 with just close friends and family in tow. But the one in Mumbai is primarily for Anushka's friends and colleagues.

The cricket corner was headlined by Sachin Tendulkar and his family - daughter Sara and wife Anjali, and also Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who came with wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva. More of Virat and Anushka's cricketer friends included Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jaydev Unadkat, Anil Kumble and Virender Sehwag:

After wrapping their wedding festivities done, the newly-married couple will fly off to destination South Africa, where Virat will stay on for an upcoming series. Anushka is scheduled to touch base in Mumbai after New Year celebrations, where she will resume her pending work commitments - a film with Aanand L Rai, YRF's Sui Dhaaga and the promotions of Pari.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who had stepped down as India's captain in T20Is to manage his workload had later relinquished the role in the IPL as well, as 2021 was his last season as the leader of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Later, Kohli was removed as skipper in the ODIs, recently stepped down from the role in the longest format as well sending shockwaves in the cricketing fraternity as the suddenness of the decision stunned everyone.

Recently, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar, who is known for speaking his mind, didn't shy away from talking about former India skipper Virat Kohli and the pressure of captaincy on the individuals. Akhtar said that if he would have been in Kohli's place he would not have even gotten married and enjoyed his game.

Talking about the 33-year old, the Rawalpindi Express said that he would have wanted Kohli to enjoy his game and just keep scoring those big hundreds, which have dried up since November 2019.

Speaking to Dainik Jagran, Akhtar said, "Virat captained for 6-7 years and I was never in favour of his captaincy, I just wanted him to keep scoring 100-120 runs and keep the focus on his batting."

"I would have not even married if I were in his place. I had just scored runs and enjoyed cricket, these 10-12 years of cricket are different time and doesn't come again, I am not saying getting married is wrong but If you are playing for India, you would have enjoyed a time a little. fans are crazy about Kohli and he had to maintain that love he is getting for the last 20 years," he added.

Elaborating on the same, Akhtar said that the pressure of marriage and family can affect the player's game because of the increase in responsibilities.

" Absolutely it does [the pressure of marriage, captaincy affect cricket]. There is pressure from the children, of the family. As the responsibility increases, so does the pressure. Cricketers have a short career span of 14-15 years in which you stay at the peak for five-six years. Those years of Virat have passed, now he has to struggle," the 46-year old went on to add.

Akhtar while taking his example said that he got married after he gave up captaincy because as the leader of the side, a player has to face the media, the brands and all other things and responsibilities that come with it.
