Virat Kohli in Tests - Home vs Away Performance Watch

Currently averages 63.5 at home and 44.3 away.

The away record is still pretty good for most people's standards but I think the expectations for Kohli are higher so he'll be expected to improve on that front.

Ponting and Lara have similar away averages. I dont think this part really matters.

What he needs is some match winning performances outside Asia? If India continues to lose outside Asia then what is the point of all those stats and hundreds.

He failed against SA
Had just one 50+ score in the series against NZ
Failed miserably against Aus.

Bashed the crap out of SL, Bang and Eng (whose spinning stocks consisted of legends like Moeen and Rashid).

Easily the worst Test player today to be averaging 50+.

His england stats will get better but for sure aus will target him (as they did last year and said he will make kohli doubt on his abilities) so his stats in aus might drop (unless they give him same roads which they gave in 2014)

Averaging 71 in New Zealand, 62 in Australia and 55 in South Africa is amazing by anyone's standards. He just has to keep that up and improve his record in England.

You're right. Gunaratne is much better than Kohli.

The gap may be wide, but that's because of his great form at home of late.

Pretty sure a few years back his away record was better than his home record.
