Been following some of his tweets and have come to the conclusion that such types of tweets are pretty low quality.

May have been funny once but not anymore

Now its offensive and downright uncouth.

Wonder what people make of his "funny" tweets?

Was it Viru "gyaan" lol ,think twitter is usually terrible ,most cricketers there RT rubbish.

Yeah. Sounds like a disgrace to his own cricketing legacy. However, I would expect such things off him, especially after the fake story he created about Akhtar. Looking for cheap publicity. Dravid, Tendulkar and Inzi are perfect examples of how success didn't get their heads.

I think the Ben Stokes starting his own PSL was just a joke. He is under pressure to make a joke every day and don't take these seriously.

He gained lot of fans from his tweets alone so definitely majority people are enjoying it

His conversations with piers morgan on olympic days were fun

His Tweets reek of insecurity, while they're basically his failed attempts at staying relevant in the cricketing circle. The exchange with Morgan, and his recent tweets about :wasim and :waqar have proved the latter thoroughly.

Sehwag on Twitter is like that guy who is funny at first but then keeps making the same type of jokes over and over again, which you get sick of. On top of that, he doesn't seem to have any limits.

The most annoying part for me, though, was when he began spamming by retweeting EACH AND EVERY TWEET that was praising him and saying he is so funny, blah blah etc. Mute button put to good use.

He was funny to begin with, but now it seems forced. He has build up a reputation on Twitter and now has to maintain that reputation and tweet something witty every day, and that is where the quality of humor gets watered down.

Absolutely. He bought this onto him and now he has to satisfy the masses.

I think his hindi commentary is very good

None of his recent tweets have been offensive, so I'm not sure what this thread is about.

His Tweets are an accurate representation of his state of mind. I have never been a fan of him either as a player or as an ambassador for India. He has previously made up incidents just to get a good laugh out of his viewers, so IMHO shouldn't give this guy too much importance.

I guess u r talking about the parody account as well.

I don't think I can post it here, but the tweet talked about how expensive Stokes was in the IPL auction and total net worth of PSL. You get the gist.

Seemed like a verified account to me.

Nope I posted the account to u,surely u know it requires a blue tick to it,also check out that account's followers to get an idea.

He is guilty of bad humor or lack of manners. Don't remember a single tweet that can be labelled an "attack".

Think everyone is getting confused with his account and the other account with a similar name, who is somehow posting similar stuff.

What exactly is wrong with his tweets? That he tweets in support of Indian army? Or is it his customary tweet ending with 'Ab to adat si hai' everytime India beats Pakistan in a cricket match?

His tweets are absolutely fine for someone who hasn't hired a Social Media agency to run his account.

You sure it was not his parody account.

That was pretty funny , I had a chuckle. People have lost their sense of humour these days.

As a popular hindi commentator on Star Sports, regular TV analyst, owner if a massively popular residential school close to Delhi and a highly visible IPL mentor/coach, Sehwag needs his twitter account to 'remain in news'?

Guess his tweet yesterday after Indian Women's team beat Pakistan Women's team has made it to news in Pakistan (not in India though) riling up PPers.

This is Dean Jones' tweet

Just for the fans of @BBL and @thePSLt20 to understand Ben Stokes price of $2.8 mill. His salary is twice the salary cap of each League!

The guy barely says something knowledgeable. He always act like a wannabe

the key word is WAS. He's just a has been.

I still dont know which tweet recently has riled up PPers.Looks like they mistook the parody account.

Met him at the ICC XI versus Rest of the World XI match a couple of years ago. Came across as a village idiot chatting rubbish and cracking what he thought were funny jokes, but that nobody else found funny.

His twitter activity is pretty embarrassing. But I've found him to be pretty charming and funny in person in interviews and such

No the Ben stokes comment which everyone is riled up about, google it ull getthe fake account

There must be a screenshot IF Sehwag tweeted it before deleting.

Also see Dean Jones' tweet which I posted earlier. No one has an issue with that though.

If someone wants to see what a wannabe badass looks like, look at how sehwag carries and conducts himself.

Sehwag is my 2nd least favorite Indian cricketer after Gambhir. A FTB who was a tailender on lively pitches and a classless individual off the field.

LOL do people here really believe he has the time to sit at home and make all these jokes ?!!

It is quite well known in twitter circles that his account is run by an RJ from Delhi.

^^^So, can I own/control your acct and put out whatever idiotic comments, no matter how low and cheap they are...and you should not be blamed for allowing that to happen?

We all know his tendency to lie re: that Tendulkar and Akhtar being hit for a 6 lie, so nothing is unwarranted here when people believe these tweets are coming from a has been who just wants to stay in the news, irrespective of how idiotic he looks doing it!

Once a village phool, always a village phool!

He's unfunny and his twitter timeline is pure cringe. But it's just poorly constructed banter followed by retweeting the tweets gushing over how "funny" he is. Don't think there is any malice from Sehwag's part though.

That PSL - Ben Stokes isn't by him but it's real funny though. Wonder what will be the condition next year when IPL purses are doubled/tripled. Good times ahead.

Yet to see examples of Sehwag's twitter attacks. People are being too kind on the thread just because of who started it.

We southies rarely watch hindi commentary of cricket but from what i has seen and heard he has a cult following for his hindi commentary.

He sometimes takes it too far in his tweets which may annoy many

Pp guys are most probably got offended by his parody account which has the same picture as his real account

8mill followers finds him funny and most of those would be like him.

I love Sehwag and for now think his Twitter account is harmless.

But he has the potential to go the Sidhu way if this keeps up.

The parallels are already there: Both boisterous right-handed batsman, both attacking openers...

Siddhu is a career politician, for a few years now, & a hypocrite at that. I doubt Sehwag can reach his levels, unless he joins politics.

Doubt that. Almost everyone here should be aware enough to know what a verified Twitter account looks like.

India pays foreign players 15 crores, Pakistan pays them 15 lakh. Dont see what makes Indians happy in this.

If u dont see anything then it is good for u. Then why r pp fans getting offended by it?

I am sorry but i dont think anybody has mentioned that this particular thing offended them. I dont think its even from Sehwag's official account.

I think Viru is doing a just fine job tweeting from the hip :). He speaks as he batted, like it or not.

I can say that more money attracts better talent and a wider pool of overseas players allowing the best to be picked up. You get better by playing with the best. Rubbing shoulders with some of the foreign players, watching them learning from them is invaluable provided you are willing to lear n and are not in it for one season only.
IPL has been a definite source of promoting and providing a wealth of information and inspiration for the youngsters in India. This was exactly teh case with County cricket here in the UK until the early 2000's. When they couldn't come up with teh money to get better overseas players, the players moved to other greener pastures so yeah, money matters.

Ain't a true village phool be supposed to be a combination of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif?

^^^Judging by that comment, you seem to be the one managing Sehwag the Phool's acct LOL!

^^ Don't think so, Sehwag had a wonderful career for India and ended up making a name for himself in International cricket. I merely gave you an appropriate description of what a village phool really is.

I see it as a has-been trying to stay relevant. Do you see any other player from his generation doing this?

If thats the reason then pray tell how will spending15 crores on stokes be more beneficial to Indian youngsters than spending 15 lakhs on sangakara/Bmac be to Pakistani youngsters? Dont give me that sanga is a has been and stokes is the next big thing in world cricket because youngsters can learn by being in the company of any great player.
Imo this thing gives common Indians nothing but a reason to boast about how much money India has to waste. The same gayle or pollard or any such player will be given many times more money by IPL than he has been given by PSL. Unless they grow wings in India, its a loss.
