"We don't go to poor countries for other leagues": Virender Sehwag regarding an offer from BBL

Based on the fact they will leave their country at any given opportunity.
Who said so? Let's say hypothetically that's true, that suggests that 1 billion people in India live under poverty? When you are in a hole, stop digging.

If they are rich and happy in their country why are they leaving? To go on holidays?

Sehwag's problem is .. to engage in sarcasm and tongue-in-cheek comments, you have to deliver them with certain intonations in your voice, gestures and maybe a slightly concealed grin otherwise people will wonder if you are being dead serious !

Pakistan fans are still living in 2010. Due its 2024 and looks where is india stand
You are right bro. We are way better in 2024. :inti

Free ration to the poor will be extended for 5 years, 80 crore will benefit: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday promised to extend the free ration (food grains under the public distribution system) scheme for “80 crore poor people of the country” for five years beyond December, and said that “fulfilling the people’s dreams is Modi’s resolve.” He was speaking at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.

“Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, free ration has been provided to the poor in the country over the past three years. Even though the one-month free ration scheme is coming to an end, Modi’s commitment is to extend it for the next five years. For the next five years, the stoves of 80 crore people in my country will keep burning. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he said.

Imagine if Joe Biden had said this - We don't go to poor countries for jobs. They come to us(US) for jobs. It would have surely hurt some desi egos. :inti

The only way Indian players will want to play overseas is for exposure to Sena conditions like England, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa. I remember Kohli after his horror England tour of 2014, requested BCCI for permission to play county cricket in England, don't remember if the BCCI granted permission.

Indians can play county cricket.

They are not allowed to play T20 or even The Hundred leagues.

Sehwag just stated the facts. Indian players make so much money that they don't go elsewhere for money.

Even Ranji players make good money.

Why will anyone leave all this for a 50-100k USD contract?

yet the only cricketer to have ever been caught stealing by shoplifting was an Indian called Sudhir Naik who was caught stealing socks.

Lol I am surprised Sky Sports were interested in Sehwag, the guy is so uncharismatic and cant speak eloquent English if his life depends on it, the guy can get paid in $millions in India but outside India where players actually get paid according to their proper cricket value and market value, he doesn't even deserve $10.

It reminds me of when Sky Sports hired Harbhajan Singh. The comm box was so dazed with Bhaji's eloquence that they got rid of him after that short stint.

He can't do it in English. That's the issue.

You had to go 50 years back to find an incident. While two pakistanis were jailed in UK a decade or so ago.

How did you judge that people get paid their proper cricket value outside India?

You think Sehwag is looking for a job outside India? He perhaps makes more than what the entire Skysports commentary team does.

Well the thread is in indian co text, plus its the only known incident of a cricketer stealing something as small as socks, and had to be an indian

Selling out his country and going to jail in UK.

First and only cricketers to serve jail term for events on the ground? Pakistanis for sure.

umm you do know Srisanth was also jailed.

anyways, why did the indian cricketer steal the socks?

Any facts to support your last statement. India is a 3rd world country but Pakistan is an economic basket case that's dependent on foreign loans
India has extreme poverty at a level Pakistan does not

Corpses floating in Ganges because people could not afford to cremate them.
People doing bathroom acts in full public view

Poor people without clothes (you do not see that much in Pakistan)
Thousands of farmers committing suicide because of inability to pay loans

And during covid, Delhi streets full of bodies being cremated because it hit India worse than Pakistan

The difference is that poverty has substantially declined in India while its increasing in Pakistan

You haven't give any solid data, just few cases here and there, and btw there are millions of Pakistanis who don't have access to toilets.
