Was 2010 the worst year for Pakistan cricket?

In the beginning of this year, Pakistan had a disastrous series against Australia having lost every single game in Tests, T20, and ODIs. Then after the series, Pakistan then banned Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, ultimately destroying Muhammad Yousuf's career as he was never a main part of the squad ever again. Also Younis Khan's career was put to an end until he made a surprise comeback to the team.

Also, Rana Naved ul Hasan's ODI career ultimately got ruined and never was selected for an ODI ever again after the PCB banned him for a year. Shoaib Malik was also banned for a year and that also ruined his career for 5 years as he was always going in and out of the team before his shock recall in 2015. Then came the Spot fixing fiasco which horribly tarnished Pakistan's reputation as a country and the PCB and almost ruined 18 year old Mohammad Amir's career and ruined Salman Butt's career and Mohammad Amir's career. Also Pakistan had a shocking Semi final loss in 2010. Does anyone agree with me? This was the year where a lot of careers of Pakistan players were ruined

Certainly ! We were a sitcom, not a cricket team in that year. The chief comedian being Ijaz Butt who handed out life bans like toffee only to do his famous U-turns.

We were changing captains like pairs of socks, I think oathgate was revealed around this team too and we began to hear stories of how the players rebelled against Younis Khan the previous autumn.

The England tour was a fiasco with Afridi retiring halfway through the Australia series before capitulating to sub-100 totals three times vs England with a horribly depleted team. Then of course the fixing scandal broke. We were also a homeless team, we had a couple of LOI series in UAE but we used England and New Zealand as "home" Test venues before making our permanent arrangement in UAE later that year.

We began rebuilding under Misbah at the end of the year and built a new team making spin our strength after losing our two top seamers. But huge damage was done to Pakistan cricket - I remember likes of Ian Botham were calling for Pakistan to be suspended from international cricket until it got its house in order !

Thank god there was light at the end of the tunnel and we've had some relative stability since, though still not without our problems. It was HUGE for Pakistan this year to have a stable transition from one captain to another - from Misbah to Sarfraz, and Azhar to Sarfraz, without any issues.

These are good boys by and large (with a few exceptions :uak) who have stayed out of controversy. They don't have the colossal egos that the 1990s/late 2000s prima donnas possessed nor play dressing room politics like those guys did.

2014 was a pretty bad year too as well as 2015 sort of. In those years I, along with many I am pretty sure, started to feel Pak was declining terribly. They started to lose series after series. To be honest, baasically 2014-2017 was horrible. There were wayy too many losses. Sure there were series wins against teams like another declined SL, and Zim and WI; along with getting the test mace. Overall though, Pak were not the same anymore after their brilliant 2013 year. It all started with Ajmal getting banned.

Hopefully this CT win would make some differences. This is a talented team which hopefully, will really revive Pak cricket.

Yes without a doubt. We were performing badly and the spot fixing saga was a very dark period. We got hammered in Australia, knocked out of the Asia cup in group stages, hammered in England as well.

For the years I have seen Pakistan cricket it certainly was the worst.
