Simple litmus test on how overrated Tendulkar was - ask his fans to name their most memorable Tendulkar innings - best answers are WC2003 vs Pak and Desert Storm, that’s it. 2 memorable innings in 22 years.

You might get the odd Chennai innings vote, but even then his Golden Duck vs Shoaib was way more memorable!

The ultimate litmus test of the greatness of a player, even the ultimate hater knows atleast 3 innings to quote.

ask any ozzie they feared and preferred watching LAra over Tendy, should not even be a debate but the media gimmickery around Tendy created this debate. Lara was natural hype no media had to be paid to hype him.

exactly, all because of marketing gimmickery. Obviously Tendulkar was 100 times better than Babar but Tendy and Lara should not even be compared

In literally no stat against the Aussies, does Lara come even close to Tendulkar
In Tests the margin is big, In ODIs its laughable to compare what Tendulkar did to Aussies with Lara .
Centuries, number of sixes, number of boundaries, Match wins, man of the matches, man of the tournaments, heck even wickets taken (Sachin has a 5 for in ODIs against Australia ). Pick any parameter you want! Its not even a contest anywhere. but your argument will center around this "natural" hype which no one seems to have seen.

I would love to find these Aussies who feared Lara over Tendulkar.

little Tendy reminds me of Bobsy King, except he was just brilliant at stats padding.
anyway Iam exaggerating he was obviously better than bobsy but they have similar mindsets, cant handle pressure and play for their stats
