Was the Fakhar-Sarfaraz recovery partnership in UAE as good as Kamran Akmal-Abdul Razzaq in 2006?

I am referring to that famous Kamran Akmal knock against India at 39/6, people forget the role Abdul Razzaq played in that partnership where he too counter attacked India on that Karachi wicket offering swing and bounce to the Indian pacers.

People haven't given enough praise to Fakhar Zaman and Sarfaraz Ahmed for their counter attack and recovery job to lift the team from severe pressure at 57/5 to 282 all out.

Was this thread created to convince to bring Kamran Akmal back to the team? No way! It was over 12 years ago! Get over it!!

HELL NO!
That morning i was super super nervous.
This test vs AUS only checked the scorecard when i arrived at work.

Tests vs India a whole other level:djb

Not even close. Don't think you would have watched the Razzaq and Kamran partnership if you think Sarfraz and Fakhar stand was as good.

Lol.

NO!

That was ATG-esque, this wasn't that high stakes or that bad of a position. Everyone knew Aus will still do bad.

Plus, the opposition quality.

Aus is expected to lose in Asia even if they dominate one inninngs. Far too many weaknesses in these conditions.

What Kamran and Razzaq did in Karachi and Mohali cannot be compared to what Sarfraz and Fakhar did in Abu Dhabi.

That pitch against India was a nightmare.

This is the biggest myth I have seen in Pakistan.

That Kamran Akram innings was the most overrrated in the history of Pakistan cricket.

In summary, it was difficult to bat with the new ball, but once the ball got old, it was a complete road! Even in India’s innings, yuvraj and irfan Pathan scored more than dravid and tendulker.

The average innings score was 350 in that match and every innings was more than 4 runs an over.

In the second innings everyone from farhat to Faisal iqbal to afridi plundered runs.

So to call that pitch a nightmare is an absolute joke.

No way, not for me.

That was a seaming green track with the ball moving all over the place. Plus it was against our arch rivals at 39/6 game was looking all but gone.

That was a miracle and miracles only happen very very rarely.

True but the match situation was v.dificult and we were playing against arch rivals India.

These things give more value to that partnership.

Seaming green track in which Pakistan managed 500 odd in the second innings.... Some people :))

That Karachi pitch had a lot of assistance for pacers, swing, seam, bounce for bowlers prepared to bend their backs.

Too bad Indian trundlers were unable to exploit it after that first session.

Clearly you didnt watch 1st inns of that game or see nature of the pitch.

The start of the Karachi match... Irfan Pathan running havoc at 115kph.

The way Pakistan recovered against India from 26/6 and 39/6 to win matches is the stuff of legends

No way. What Kami and Razzaq did for Pakistan against India was magnificent. Fakhar and Sarfi had it somewhat easier compared to 2006/07

Agree that Kami & Razzaq did something amazing. But I am not sure how Fakhar & Sarfi had it easier?
