Well to be honest, be it inzi or mickey or waqar younis, things dont change much same ttfs getting selected we keep on losing and we keep on suggesting new players differct tactics, but nothing seems to happen, and its been going on for years now so its a chronic issue. Is there any messiah who is going to save us, and rather instead of talking about things, he will make things happen

Still waiting

I would say if we get more experienced ppl jinso ne dunye dekhi hai, maybe someone like ramiz raja and waqar younis and wasim akram and give them the authority to do anything they want, maybe then....

lmao typical Pakistani mentality looking for a messiah in everything in cricket in politics and in life.

well yeah what else are we supposed to do how many new guys have we brought in the system, have you seen any changes yet? is it because all of them are given a script which they have to follow
You seem to be the guy who says hota hai chalta hai, typical loser mentality but not everyone is like you

Stop looking for messiahs. Fix the system, the result will take care of themselves.

True in cricket & politics as well. Changing faces does nothing but sadly our people will never stop looking for new faces.

That is m whole point we need to change the system, and to change the system we need a guy who will make all these bold decisions

Misbah should be director of cricket and given carte blanche to revolutionise our domestic cricket. Its embarrassing how we cannot produce a single powerhitter beyond the three suspended batsmen of Sharjeel, Latif and Shahzaib.

Every other team has strength in depth because of their system that enables them to produce quality talent. In Pakistan we fall to pieces without our 2-3 key players !

Right now we have journalists like Shakil Shaikh who has no business running domestic cricket.

Pakistan dont have people who understand how modern day cricket is played. Not in administration, or coaching in domestics.

Couple this with nepotism in domestic teams.

Emergence of players like hasan ali, shadab khan, rumman raees show that even with the rotten system, Pakistan is producing good modern day players who can adapt to the current style of cricket. But there is hardly anyone who notices such players quickly enough. Either that or they are benched in domestic games for players with contacts.

No need for messiahs.

The system is not that hard to fix actually, it is not rocket science.

The first thing that needs to be done is to appoint a single chairman of the board who has vast experience of managing public or private sector organizations and has displayed excellent ability at managing people and funds. The chairman should be a person who is financially clean and has a track record of delivering in similar organizations. This alone will go a long way in alleviating some of our administrative and diplomatic issues.

The next thing that needs to be done is reduce the number of bureaucrats and administrators within the PCB. It is a cricket board for God's sake not a multi-national conglomerate. There is no need for hundreds of useless employees who are just there to gather paychecks and enjoy on taxpayers money. This will help the PCB in reducing it's operating expenses and make it an overall profitable organization.

The domestic system needs a complete turnaround. I'm in favour of harnessing the franchise system of the PSL and further developing it. For example allow Karachi Kings to manage all the domestic talent of the Karachi region and scout for fresh talent. The franchises can buy or transfer cricketers to other franchises based on their needs. The same cricketers who turn out for the KK in the domestics will then compete in the PSL but with the addition of foreign players. This will also go a long way in developing team loyalty for the domestic/PSL sides. The QeA trophy would be region based and would be a direct competition between the same sides that compete in the PSL. As we have seen with the PSL the sole aim of the franchises is to win and this will mean there will be more merit in selections and the TTFs won't be allowed to rule the roost based on connections. The franchises will also be stressed to emphasize on player fielding standards, diet management and development based on video analysis.

Apart from the five PSL sides we can have three more regional sides such as Sialkot, Faislabad and Rawalpindi that compete in the top tier of the QeA trophy. The second tier of the QeA can comprise of 10-12 other regions of the country, these regions will also be franchise based and the franchises will again have complete autonomy over the players they select or the coaches they hire. After every season the bottom ranked side of tier 1 gets demoted to tier 2 and took ranked side of tier 2 gets promoted. The PCB can sweeten the deal by having higher match prizes for tier 1 matches and heavy paycheck for victors of the QeA. This will force teams to always try to move up in the tiers and try and win the trophy.

Now that the franchises have taken over the job of player and team management the PCB can act as an overseer with the job of scheduling matches, providing transportation and lodging facilities and ensuring proper ground and playing conditions are provided. A minimum standard can be developed for playing conditions and quality of pitch/outfield/ball. This will ensure that the bowlers and batsmen that emerge with the best stats are truly those who have played well and deserve to be picked for the national side.

For selection to the national side a strict adherence needs to be made to stats. As I have stressed plenty of times on this forum, numbers do not lie. If a batsman is averaging 45 odd in domestics you can bet your bottom dollar that he would do better in internationals than a guy who is averaging 35 odd in the same domestic system, even though the latter may seem like the classiest batsman to walk on God's green earth. Sure you can look at the top three four performers in the domestics and make a distinction between them whether one will be successful or not, but to come into consideration a batsman must make it to the top five averaging bats after the domestic season.

Cricket is no longer the sport where you drive up to the village green on a sunny summer day, whack a few, and win the world cup. It is more science than sport now. Do all of the above and then we can start turning our team around and won't need any messiahs. Easy Peasy :afridi

How stupid to look for messiah. Cricket is a team sport and you guys are not that bad.

People, calm down.

Since losing to Bang almost 1 and half years ago, Pakistan have won 5 of their 9 ODI series, 3 of them away.

In the last series against Aus, they often bowled well but the pitches were flat (As Aussie ODI wickets are) and their batsmen let them down, although they crossed 300 once and also won a game.

In terms of the WI, Pak have won 3 of their last 4 ODIs and 8 out of 10 LOIs I think. In tha ttiem Pak have found Babar and Shadab, Hassan has improved and Amir has been doing ok. There's a decent supporting cast in Imad, Malik and an umber of players haging around the squad atm.

Ofc, improvements are needed but they are not radical but rather tweaks here and there. First off, Sarfraz needs to calm the eff down, Babar should be at 3 always, Zaman should be brought into the batting line up somewhere, field settings need to be more consistent. It's not revolutionary.

Make Bazid Khan as director of cricket and he will fix your domestic system. He has been through the system and knows all about it. He is educated, sensible and top of all cares for Pakistan cricket team.

Pcb is wasting season after season making no improvements in the domestic system , they are thinking that PSL will solve all their problems which is ridiculous. Our players play in a rotten domestic system with poor playing conditions , poor quality balls , maximum 70 overs per day and umpires are lolworthy. With this system we should be happy what we are getting.

What can one say when pcb/inzi appointed a failure as one day captain of a domestic series who failed the fitness test for WI but will be leading Punjab.

This right there shows us how serious pcb is to find, promote and prepare new talent.

I mean this guy looks like no say even in his own house but he is captaining the whole province team.

Chalo we will wait for them to fix the system then, hasnt happened since last decade but umeed per dunya qaem hai. Maybe not me but my grandchildren will be able to see a better pakistan cricket team

Cheetah99 no i want Pakistan cricket to improve and that can only be done by a change in infrastructure more funding from PCB on school cricket. Lower the number of teams in domestic to uplift its quality. Its not a Messiah Pakistan but a competent administration that invests properly in the development of Pakistans infrastructure.

If you are alway looking for the next Wasim n Waqar from the streets or Inzi playing tapeball cricket then that is not a long term success strategy.

Look at the best run boards ECB CA BCCI they dont have Messiahs but very efficient organisations thats main aim is to improve their countries infrastructure.

Exactly, every bit of our domestic system is rotten. How any talent emerges in this system is a miracle.

We STILL have this ludicrous departmental/regional divide leading to far too many teams. The pitches do not encourage fluent strokeplay and the Grays ball will make any trundler look like the second coming of Holding and Garner. The outfields resemble a cabbage patch and discourage diving which hurts our fielding.

PCB "think tank" organised Regional One Day tournament in Sindh in January so nearly half the games were rained off.

Where are the logical decision makers in this organisation ?

Time to learn something from BCB and Bangladesh Cricket then. Look at how they are running their domestic cricket.

That is the point we never learn kyunke we have seniors na, rest of the boards doesnt have this special problem
