Not sure if its the right time to make this thread. Malik has been below par throughout the ODI series as expected barring one match where he seemed to be a breath of fresh air via captaincy.

This is what he has been clinging on for since 2016 when he retired in Test Cricket. The world cup is months away and the senior pro has done nothing of note on overseas tours. Not sure why the management are not as impatient with him as they are with other youngsters who fail to make an impression in a few outings. This needs to be highlighted and the pressure must apply on him exactly the way others like Hafeez, Sarfaraz and Amir have had to cope with hate due to not matching expectations.

We do not want excuses, we want results and responsibility from you now. Please do not merge this thread with 'Shoaib Malik Performance watch' or a Nasser Hussain quote thread. This is from now until the world cup as he is unlikely to be dropped, the only player who is more secure with his spot after the captain and Babar.

Reiterates my point, the vast list of names above that have been dropped, discarded and not given a fair chance to find their form and confidence as compared to Mr So cool v.2 because he can smash a few decent English interviews!
