How is it different from people like yourself demanding Akmal should be given chances even though he averages a beastly 26 in the last two years.

Because Akmal is 10 times the ODI player this Shafiq is. Shafiq has always been given a chance in the top 3 despite always failing. Akmal has had some good performances especially at the start of his career so why was he played at 6? Not to mention the ability that Umar has and the shots he plays which Shafiq can not dream of playing. Umar wasn't nearly as bad in this series as people are saying. He mostly came in when the game was lost and played well in the last game. Asad technique can never dream of playing those shots against a good attack. I speak for the greater good when I say Akmal should be given a chance as an opener

Akmal has not opened even in domestics and you want him opening just because you come how put that joke of a cricketer in your fantasy line-up. Even under his own brother's captaincy in domestic he batted at 4 and 5.
