"We will carry that confidence forward & play well in the last game to win the series" : Babar Azam

Pakistan batsman Babar Azam speaking to the media:

"When we arrived in NZ it was our plan to build partnerships in the first 6 overs of ODIs as well but our openers didn't click there. The openers built a good stand in 2nd T20I and laid a partnership which gave us confidence and allowed our batters to do well at the death"

"The straight boundary was a bit short there (in Auckland). This one is a good pitch, and we will enjoy batting here"

"Won't make a big difference (absence of their players) as we bowled and batted pretty but yes Colin Munro is a pretty good player and his absence will have an affect"

"It was pretty good (our bowling performance) in the 2nd T20I. Our bowlers were bowling in the right channels and reading their batsmen well"

"We are pretty confident because of the last game and we would like to carry that confidence forward and play well in the last game to win the series"

Well he needs to show what he can do - else the fluke brigade will be back (with good reason)

School boy/club cricket mentality...
"Plan to build partnership in first 6 overs"...wow is the extent of your ambition?
Show some confidence.

Why do they even bother to interview or players, PCB should just publish a standard template and hand it to the reporters. However I also think the language barrier doesn't allow our players to fully express themselves and are ok with just playing it safe.

Babar actually gave this press conference in urdu. So it doesn't really have anything to do with language barriers. Most of our players lack insight into the game and just churn out the same old stuff when they speak.

Just be done with this embarrassing NZ tour.

The ambitions turned out to be too high for our incompetent batting.
