At the the back drop of controversies pertaining to National Register of Citizens of India (NRC) and the resentment surrounding the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016, a statement made by a well known journalist on Twitter has been seen as highly inflammatory and not helping to maintain order under the ongoing circumstances.

The statement comes from a Twitter post by a renowned journalist Madhu Purnima Kishwar wherein she states, “The Libtards in Congress and Left seem to not be aware that Pakistan & Bangladesh came into existence through genocides of Hindus– all because people were once converted to Islam. North East is infested with terrorist groups armed by China after conversion to Christianity”.

It may be mentioned that the publication of NRC in Assam has set off similar demands in neighbouring states of Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim and other sections of people from other states of Northeast.

With regard to the Citizenship amendment Bill 2016, voices of dissent has been raised by various organizations from the Northeast demanding immediate scrapping of the proposed legislation.

As Assam, Nagaland and Manipur continue to face the brunt of militancy where several innocent lives have been lost in the recent past, and while the region continues to witness the aftermath of NRC, a statement like the one mentioned above coming from a journalist may tickle the sentiments of the people, but not for the good.

That's a very long story. I was battling with clinical depression and schizophrenia since 2001, and was on the verge of suicide. My Lord Jesus Christ saved my life and changed it for the better. Although I did go through alcoholism after that, the spiritual pain and the sufferings were completely gone. Nothing feels better than having the Holy Spirit in my body.

Not at all. Christian community in my city keeps itself busy in doing social works and helping people in need. We celebrate Independence day and Republic day in our church every year, grand celebrations. It's all about our beloved India. In fact there is no separatist wave in my state at all.

Forget Christians, every person I've met in my state during my 32 years on Earth here has and still remains a hardcore Indian. It's laughable when people outside of my country thinks Assam wants independence

Maybe it's because they hear news about ULFA once in a blue moon. ULFA here is hated more than any other terrorist organization in the world.

I'm from a Baptist church, and we often work with all churches in the North East. It's not true at all.

By the way Hitman you are assamese. Would it be fair to say that Assamese identify themselves with mainstream India more so than the other Northeast states?

I haven't been to other states from the North East. But I have lots and lots of friends from other North Eastern states here in Guwahati. Every single one of them lives and breathes our motherland.

I don't know whether people will believe me or not, but honest to God, I haven't met a single person from the North East in my life who wants to separate from India. Yes, not a single one. It's all about India.

Bashing Christianity is the 2nd favorite pass-time of Hindutva bigots. Any problem in India, blame minorities, Dalits, leftists, foreign countries, intellectuals, tribals etc, basically simplify the issue to direct hatred towards sections of fellow Indians for political reasons. I especially hate these evil people who have found this new hobby of attacking missionaries and Christians, without them Indian education and health sectors would be in the gutters and no right thinking Indian can deny this fact.

Seeing the bio of most of these right wing fanatics I am surprised to see many of them having Christian missionary schools/colleges as alma matter, where is their loyalty? They got the most precious gift thanks to the very same people they hate today. When they have health problem they will in all likelihood queue before a Christian run hospital and get taken care of by Christian nurses from Kerala, yet beneath their breaths abuse them and wish ill. Rubbish of the human race, bunch of low life ingrates. Nothing makes me more sick in the stomach than the fact that Hindutva extremists claim to follow my religion, they violate every principle of Hinduism and then claim to safeguard its interests.
