West Indies (142/7) defeat Bangladesh (139/5) by 3 runs to stay alive in the ICC T20 World Cup

West Indies have recovered well thanks to some late blows. I think they have enough runs on the board.

Pathetic cricket from Bangladesh. Dropped catch and missed stumping in one over and Pooran made them pay.

Bangladesh should drop these guys after this tournament:

Litton Das
Soumya Sarkar
Nurul Hasan
Afif Hossain

Also, Mahmudullah should be replaced as the captain. I don't think he is a good captain.

I was right about Samuels and there is also another player in this team that I have very strong suspicious about. If I was to tell that when watching Saleem Malik run out Saqi in Canada against Ind in 98, I knew that very moment and years later it came out that my suspicions were correct, my suspicions aren't too far off. I hope they aren't true.

I know who you are talking about and his actions have been very suspicious to say the least but even apart from him, this team is pretty terrible and their fortunes wouldn't have changed one bit. If it weren't for BD's absolutely pathetic effort in the field, they would have struggled to make 120 here.

hasan is a good wk. his fielding alone saves the team runs
sarker doesn't miss catches unlike that mehedi guy that dropped 3 or 4 today
das and afif needs to go definitely

Yeah. But, Nurul has to improve batting. Modern keepers have to bat well in LOI games.

Bangladesh - 20/0 after 4 overs (target: 143).

Advantage West Indies now. RRR is 7.68.

mahmadullah needs to be dropped from captaincy. just terrible decision-making throughout the tournament. completely gutless, never goes for the kill. for somebody with his experience, you hope for better results.

I have a feeling that the 20th over of WI innings is going to be the deciding factor in this game.

143 isn't a simple target on this pitch. Ball isn't coming on to the bat so easily.

That over and also Shakib's final over.

142 is a pretty good score on this pitch.

Mustafiz is relying on his off cutters too often. He is too expensive in most of the matches. He should be reminded that these are not the Mirpur pitch.

He has outswinger, yorkers. He has learned to make the ball comeback to left handers.

So why you are thinking yourself a depleted bowler?

West Indies are looking good for a win here.

Bangladesh are continuing their gutless performance.

Am hoping Litton shows his true potential and gets a big score.
He's the bd mark waugh the bd damien martyn.
But for lapses of concentration and drops inintensity or propensity to do some thing pathetically **, he's blocking his own way for greatness.
just like guys like upul tharanga, kusal perera, umar akmal, et all

Yes. Poo4an was given life. He took 13voff the last Shakib over.

BD fielding is rubbiish for quite sometimes now. The fielding coach is only taking his salery.

Liton can't be compared to these 3 even . They have better average I think than Liton. Rather he can be compared to Mohammad Ashraful. Pleasing on eyes with a mid 20 knock and then get out.

Liton should improve heavily and very rapidly. He has been given too many chances to prove.

Two teams of equal calibre on stage now. That's why this game should be competitive

Bangladesh - 43/2 after 8 overs (target: 143).

Bangladesh need 100 runs from 72 balls.

RRR is now almost 10. Very difficult for BD now. This pitch is not a 10 an over pitch.

WI should be favorite here now

BD dont have big hitters like pooran holder who can take 15,16 in an over to get the equation down. BD needs 9 an over.

And whose fault is it? i know you can't blame it on one factor. There are so many variables and these differ from country to country as well.
But whats your coaching staff doing if they cant make players like litton or soumya sarakar realize their potential? did you fans ever question?
When i first saw soumya sarkar in the WC in 2015, aus, i thought this guys would churns runs out like they were out of fashion and whilst at it bring back sides on seats.
Whats the role of a coach? to make a guy believe he is better than he is , to perform over his potential.
Whats the role of our manager in corporate life? to make their subordinates feel they are better than they are , to give max output....ain't it?
have your bd fans ever questioned your coaching setup? Looking at how litton played agains us(India ) in aisa cup 2018 and in the day night test in calcuttta, wow...what potential....can he deliver?

They became favorites when they crossed 140. Good total on this pitch.

soumya has been a massive let down. So much potential and promise. But can't blame the coach. Coach cannot teach professionalism and dedication, that needs to come from the player himself

Hmm ...maybe.
But your talent and skill can take u so far. Then its your coaching setup that devises strategies to get the maxium out of your potential. Sachin himself said he owed a lot to gary kirsten to improve even when he had played for about 15 years when gary came over. John wright did wonders for Rahul, anil, srinath. bob wolmer did the same for younis khan, yohana, kaneria, umar gul and some other pak boys.

57 runs are needed from 42 balls.

Most big teams can chase this down. Not sure about Bangladesh. Let's see.

Games are all being decided by the toss.

Unfortunately the semi and final will be decided by the toss

I think coaching staffs always try to bring best out of players. It's the limitations of players which counts at the end of day.

Saaed Anwar used to say I don't need any coach. He also said that coached used to say hold bat this way play this shot this way but Anwar ignored all these. I am also the same believer. Coaches only can encourage and only can show any gross mistakes.

The difference between an average player and a good/ great player is how consistent they are. Many used to get excited about our then Mohammad Ashraful .but I didn't at all. He was so inconsistent! His average was below 30 all the time. Liton and Spumya may play good innings here and there but they are too inconsistent.until they are consistent enough I am not going to count them as great potential.

Why does Mushfiq try these stupid scoop shots over and over?

He got out like this multiple times in this tournament.

He is out. 90/4.

I seriously think that a couple of these Bdesh cricketers esp. Mushfiq are mentally underdeveloped..

If West Indies get Mahmudullah out, it should be game over. Other batsman are ordinary.

4 dropped catches. Afif dropped another.

That missed stumping cost Bangladesh almost 40 runs.

Worse than club level fielding.

WI havent been much better, missed about 4 run outs, hayden walsh just misjudged a catch where he should have walkied in and taken it comfortably.

Ravi Rampaul played in the 2007 World T20. Here he is playing again.

I thought he retired. West Indies went back to oldies in this tournament.
