Tamim is easily a better test batsman than both Umar Akmal and KOHLI , at this point of time .

I can understand that they want to play their shots, but whats the point of playing so many shots in the air? For God's sake this a test match. We were 88-1 from 12 overs at one point

such a waste of a wicket. BD Should send their domestic winners to pakistan to play in quaide azam trophy or pentagular to improve.

are you serious? Playing domestic cricket wont help them a bit. Its about the mindset. Tamim looked explosive and his timing was superb, same could be said about nafees. The big question is not our players ability to play, they definitely can, but they simply dont have the mindset for Tests.

Rubel hossain averages 89 with the ball after 13 tests. Even Sami will blush after seeing these numbers. Bring in some inexperienced young pacers and put them in the test arena. First make some pitches that aid bowlers not the roads they mostly come up with.

such pitches are nightmare for pace bowlers. Let teams like SA and Aus play on such wickets and you will see even top bowlers like morkel and siddle have bradmanisque average.

There is no pace, bounce, swing in the wicke to work with. Nightmare for pace bowlers. As a result youngsters in bangladesh do not want to become pace bowlers.

BD survives. 164-3, is a very decent score. Expect BD to score more than 450 with 2 batsman settled and 4 more batsman to come :)) :))

When you play small number of test matches , it wont develop. Need to play longer version in a tougher environment. Test cricket is just too less to make bangladesh learn anything.

No, Sri Lanka weren't good enough when they started. Neither were Zim. But they improved rapidly where the Desh have not.

It can't be said that they do not have talent , it is probably that they do not have a good competitive environment in their FC cricket. If their best domestic (longer version) team can play in a competitive environment. This can help them a little bit.

dont forget that BD has a very ordinary FC structure. Our players barely play more than 10 FC matches a year, how do you expect the players to play well in the test arena with such less experience?

On the other hand BD is a half decent team in the ODI arena, but nowhere near fit for tests. We were something like 120-2 from 20 overs! Something which any team will take in an ODI match. Even the beginning of the innings was like the starts you get in a t20 match.

I don't really see any harm in attacking on a flat deck, yes Bangladesh over do it many a times but they will learn as they play. The Tamim blitz and good aggressive batting means that Bangladesh now have a good chance of saving the follow on andperhaps this test, too early to conclude anything though. we all know how quickly BAN can collapse, they need to get runs as well as bat for time tomorrow, Shakib and Naeem so far have done a very good job, need to continue that.

Well played Shakib Al Hasan....... Other than that a good and patient ****ury from Naeem Islam first for him

I don't think the Bangers will learn anything when the few long matches they get to play are played on such roads.

Previously we couldnt play well on these roads. Its a good sign that we atleast started playing well on flat pitches.

407-6, BD seem to be in a good position. Nasir and riad are in good touch, sohag gazi can bat as well. Scored a century in a FC Match recently(140 from 93 balls)

Narine is struggling in his early test match career.

Narine got into the T20 mix because of his succes in domestic T20. He also performed in the T20 WC. But he barely played FC cricket or even List A matches

But test cricket is a whole new level. Many Indians where saying that Narine is better than the likes of ajmal, swann and vettori. The fact will remain is that these 3 have performed in all formats of the game esp. Test cricket and narine didnt.

So narine will take some time and play more of the shorter format.

Nasir Hossain has done well to see it to the close. NOW he needs to cash in tomorrow.

Geoff Boycotts grandmother could make runs on this pitch batting with a stick of rhubarb. WI might have made 1000 had they not declared.

and then they said, Ireland and Afghanistan deserve test status more

3 wins in 73. How on earth do you deserve test status? :asif

Pretty sure Ireland would pull off a better record after 73 matches and 13 years of investment. Not Afghanistan though they are full of brainless hacks.

true that we have a bad record but have a test match between Ireland and BD and im pretty sure we will because we have solid batsman like tamim, nasir and shakib. Ireland have none, they had one named morgan but he doesnt play for ireland anymore

Do you think Ireland will be as poor as Bangladesh after 13 years of test cricket?

If <20 of 40 potential wickets are only taken by the end of day 5, I would expect an ICC warning for this pitch.
