He's making a comeback after a long time, the criticisms I've seen thus far are not very objective. Has done ok thus far in his first ODI since being dropped; just need him to finish strong, if not no worries; the lad has the dressing rooms support and there are still some games left.

Hafeez on the other hand doesn't deserve the long rope, any patience or leniency imo

As common belief, I don't think PAK's problem is lack of power hitter at 5-6-7; rather it's the inability of gathering momentum in 25 overs between 10 to 35. 60/0 in 10 overs is good enough start to reach 200 by 35th to 38th over.

If Pakistan openers get a good start, the following batsmen use that as an opportunity to build their average. Mentality is very selfish, that is the problem.

That's exactly what Hafeez is doing.
The scoring rate is okay, but there is no momentum to build on here.

This one is a logical choice - if MoHa is to play, it has to be in top 3. Do you think it makes sense to send this guy at 201/2 after 38 overs?

Arthur & Sarfy is forced to pick MoHa in XI & they have sent him at a spot where he'll do least damage. And to ensure that, Asif Zakir was picked as only middle order.
 
I strongly believe in the power of prayer. We all join together and put our minds to it and pray for Hafeez's dismissal, he might get out.

I never take a dig to any side - not even Poms. I just wrote what I can explain with examples - you can't ask me to write good things about PAK team when MoHa is batting at 3 & team is at 8/9 spot for 2 years running😩

agree bro but why is malik playing then he can also bowl 5 overs alteast

if they have to play hafeez it should be at 6 or 7 as a pinch hitter

Hafeez is so selfish

We continue to tolerate players like him hence why youngsters follow the same to try to secure their position. There should be a rule for those who play for themselves should never play for Pakistan. Set a precedent for future youngster, just like players being dropped with fitness issues.

Our culture will not change unless we start implementing change

Not every chance one. Babar is coming at 150/2 today - I expect a change in approach from him.

Probably 90% were praying for his dismissal as he stepped out to bat.
 
Sarfraz looks visibly annoyed by this.

Also, can't remember the last time majority of Pakistan fans wanted their own players to just get out. Shows how pathetic these guys really are.

if we want to improve we need to get rid of hafeez,kamran,wahab,shehzad
 
An okay innings by Shehzad but he was looking better as time went on, Hafeez was expendable.
 
I expect more tuk tuk: Babar will play for his average and Hafeez will play for his place in the team = score of of 250-260

Only PAK/PCB will pick both MoHa & Malik in playing XI & then slot MoHa, Babar, Malik & Sarfy at 3 to 6 in ODI. That only includes associates as well if you consider the type of players, rather than relative quality - now, you can take it as a dig, but it's truth. That's why team is below 7 for almost 30 months now.
 
I have never wanted a Pakistani batsman to fail as badly as I want Hafeez to fail right now

Not really. Would've expected him to end up at a decent strike rate after eating up all those dot balls. It was a horrible innings from him and he would've been exposed badly against any decent bowling attack.

All this goes to show is that his level is rather poor and he can't pick up his game against poor bowling attacks. He's a limited player who will get to decent scores every not and then but not what we need at the opening position.

The performance has been horrible. Too many dot balls. They got away with some easy deliveries and scored off of boundaries but honestly this isn't possible against better bowling attacks. It's not about this match in particular it's about overall Pakistan cricket and how we have very limited players up top.

Absolutely correct. If you chances to players like hafeez the long end of rope. It is like keep doing the same thing and expecting different results on each attempt.

We are batting as if we are 5 wickets down. Normally when you get a start like this the team wil post 300+ no problem.
 
If I were Mohd. Hafeez and had one iota of self-respect, I would hang up my boots after this innings.
 
the more hafeez struggle the more i am happy i hope we are done with this useless player
 
This is criminal - Bowlers might defend even 250 here, because it's WI - recently Poms have man handled them but what MoHa is doing demands an explanation from Inzi.
