What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 1st Test | Sabina Park, Kingston | Apr 21-25, 2017 | Day 1

Excellent stuff from abbas! boy getting the ball to do quiet a bit there! not sure why the commentator is giving Mohammad Asif the Benoit treatment :)) Red Devil thunder will not strike him down if the name is mentioned in full, asif is not voldemort

Haha yeah man, so good to see a Pakistani bowler get some swing with the new ball. He could be useful if he can generate this type of movement regularly.

And lol which commie was it? Wasn't paying attention. :))

One part of yk's game not discussed enough with his retirement: his catching - we will miss that a lot

To me Mohammad Abbas reminds me of Harmison

I don't see any resemblance with Asif. Nice bowling action.

They were referring to Abbas pace being similar to a bowler form pakistan who's first name starts with an M and second name starts with an A, lol :))

From wicket keeper's angle you can see that it does have a little resemblance, they only showed that angle once though otherwise you won't see the resemblance

Just saw WI batting line up. Can't recognize many names. Looks like a noob team.

Zahid bowling at decent pace. I guess 135-137k's and swinging it.

Amir is also swinging it a lot.

Good bowling conditions there.

Paj should look for 3 or 4 wickets before the pitch turns flat.

I think I have finally figured out the resemblance: Abbas looks like Mr. Bean

now replace Amir with a good new-ball bowler and Pakistan has a good opening attack

Yes, he is probably the best slip fielder we ever had(I am talking about guys who played for long time)!! - Will be dearly missed :((

There's some decent young prospects, but a very inexperienced team.

Darren Bravo sadly isn't there because of dispute with the board.

Young Mohammad Abbas is schooling Amir currently with the new ball..

Amir is so predictable he only swings it one way and half the time the batsmen doesn't even play his deliveries..

Abbas is doing the right thing making the batsmen play, result is the wickets column is full..

Amir has the mentality of a t20 bowler doesn't know that you have to make the batsman play this is not ODI and t20 that batsmen is gonna go after you

And then you had posters pointing out "nothing special" the moment I praised his exceptional fielding skills the moment he caught the ball, fans have taken him for granted; god forbid don't even want to think about how many they will drop in the slip cordon once he retires

Another over with the new ball wasted by Amir, someone send this guy back to the domestics.. he thinks the batsmen is David Warner trying to hit him for a six

True but Abbas is 27

Amir is still bowling wide of crease and falling over little on the right at before release, that is cause of his imbalance, he got to fix those two issues soon...He is not going to get many wickets, he is either too wide or too short most of the time, He is not making batsmen play most of the balls, that's wasting new ball. He got be more enterprising and aggressive with new ball :acp:

Bishop compared him to Sarfaraz Nawaz's action... quite a complement

What the hell is Amir doing... this is cowardly bowling, you gotta make the batsman play

I am not sure if Misbah's decision to ball first was the right decision. Other than the one wicket, not much is going on.

Yasir looking fit again! Thank God. Looks like his belly is only for off season and non international cricket. :trump2:kapil

good points.
i am not knowledgeable about bowling like other guys here but even for me it is easy to understand that going wide of the crease wont get Amir wickets. He needs to make the batsman play more.

Hetmyer with a beautiful shot, carrying on from where he left off in the tour match.

Rameez is right, Amir has wasted new ball with bad line. I am disappointed at his tactics :sanga:

Finally, Amir brought one back into the batsman. Even this one was scrambled seam not really came in off the seam, but never the less good wicket. He got to be making batsman play more.
