What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 4th T20I | Port of Spain | April 2nd, 2017 | Pakistan Innings

absolutely pathetic chase this, should dominate the windies but instead shehzad is here cementing his place. Pathetic
Don't be negative.

Shehzad is playing according to the situation of the match and not trying to cement his place in the team.

Congrats Shehzad both you and kami will be trolling us at the CT

Guys no need to be aggressive. Play normal cricket so that you can have no idea what to do when you end up chasing 180

Its about efficiency - why waste energy being aggressive when you can do it at run a ball?

The key to chasing is to always keep up with the asking rate - which is what we are easily doing.

We have been here so many times before but our selectors have a goldfishes memory.

Expect full blown humiliation at the CT

Ahmed
Talat

No. The key to t20 is always play aggressively.

Sohail should be in the team , he is very handy with bat , and can bowl 7 - 8 steady overs in a game.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it is the first time Shezzy and Babar are batting together? :13:
MMHS Syed1 Pete Rose

Get one of these two out so we can get rid of the 'he's not a late-order batsman' excuse.

Silly bowler. He should the only shot babar knows is to play the pull shot

Dunno. That represents a mediocrity that is not memorable

Check CI. Can't recall.

What is Hasan doing sitting next to Kami?

It's best to say away from such...

No. The key to t20 is always play aggressively.

Why?

Playing aggressively comes at a risk when you can lose several quick wickets. Of course, when you have to go you have to go - i.e. chasing 180+

But why risk it when chasing low totals?

yes first time we are seeing class vs talent.

These commentators really got to work on their pronunciation!

Shadab Khan is not Shahrukh Khan!!!

and Babar Azam is not Baba Azam!!!

What can I tell you. Teams that don't challenge themesleves will always lose the big moments. It is abundantly clear that Pakistan has no idea how to bat aggressively . So why not try to change that by chasing a low total convincingly

I think so - in all the T20's Shehzad ws the first opener dismissed so did not get a chance with Babar.

Shehzad and Babar played in the ODI series against NZ in 2016 but don't think they batted together.

They both played in the 4th ODI against England but again don't think they batted together that game either.

There should be a left-right opening pair. Sharjeel spoiled the combination. Talat is young & a technically sound. Many great ODI openers opened first time in internationals, therefore it's not an issue. Fakhar is extremely limited for an ODI opener. They could have tried with Zain Abbas, but Inzi didn't send him to emerging cup. I don't think PAK think tank even bothers for a left-right opening pair.

The West Indies commentators have babar pegged as a legside batsman. Lovely shot by Shehzad

for me zain is too limited against pace for opening slot...and yess good idea of right and left hand combination which our selectors usually does do not keep in mind..

CT 2013 was the worst I saw Pakistan play in a long, long time. There's no way we can do worse this time round.

We are sending Shehzad, Kami, Hafeez and Malik. Half the side is the same as 2013. :afridi

Your right Kami and Shehzad will lift our performance.

Shehzad is a limited hack. The less said about Kami the better.

This Pakistani batting innings proves nothing. Give them anything over 160 and they will struggle to chase it 9 times out of 10.

Please no.

Not another CT humiliation.

Babar Azam is a good ODI player. As far as Shehzad is concerned now that we've lost Sharjeel and Khalid, he is most likely going to be in the CT. So might as well go into it with some momentum and runs under the belt.
