Babar Azam has the opportunity to level and surpass Pakistan’s legendary batter Saeed Anwar’s tally of most centuries for the Green Shirts in the ODI format.

Babar Azam* – 131 matches, 19 centuries, 6235 runs

Why do WI no longer play at Port of Spain ground when in Trinidad. Anyways West Indies need points to qualify for the World Cup 2027 directly, should be a close series.

WI will be coming at PK hard. Pakistan should not view this series as a joke. This wont be like past series as they wish to qualify for world cup.

Assuming no rain I'd be weary if I was PK and especially if I was Abdullah

Looks like weather forecast has improved a bit... Really want to see some longer format cricket.. Fed up with t20s now

@Nikhil_cric My predictions for this series.

1) Babar gets one century finally after 2 years.

2) Rizwan gets 2 50's.

3) Pakistan wins series 3-0 or 2-1(assuming no rain)

4) Saim Ayub continues his killer odi form

5) The bowlers perform.

Tonight's prediction

- If Pakistan bats first, 302-7, Wi 228-10

If wi bats first then 272-8, Pakistan 273-6

Good predictions. I think it will be a chasing pitch under lights. So the team winning the toss should bowl first.

mate can you predict the euro lottery numbers for tonight too?

Taking advice from Rizwan is indirectly taking advice from Misbah.

I agree with Van goh that Agha isnt the hest captain, he's too chill and timid but van goh also hyped rizzu to be some sort of ATG captain.

Rizwan didn't use Haris Rauf to perfection, he overused Rauf knowing full well Rauf is a trundler.

Just cause Rauf worked in Australia doesnt mean he'd work anywhere else. Rizwan was a crap captain.

Babar was even worse then Rizwan as captain.

Agha is still better however future captain should be saim who is tactically better despite his young age

Babar was a batter who looked like someone who can get to 10 K runs in both test and OD format , in OD he has good chance , provided he plays a good number of OD next 3 -m 4 years. He needs to try and hit a hundred every 5 - 6 innings.

Pakistan’s reluctant ODI tour of the West Indies carries major stakes for the hosts, who risk missing a third straight 50-over ICC event and must climb from 10th to at least 9th in the rankings to secure 2027 World Cup qualification. With only one ODI win in 2025, West Indies see victory over sixth-ranked Pakistan as vital, while Pakistan, despite recent poor form and a Champions Trophy debacle, arrive with key players like Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi back. Played entirely in Trinidad during peak wet season, the series offers West Indies a survival lifeline and Pakistan a chance to prove they still belong among the world’s elite.

The rainy thunderous Trinidad. I visited there to attend a wedding in 2008. When it rains it rains like someone is throwing a bucket of water.

In order for Pakistan to win this series they need to actually perform and treat this series like a world cup event.

Wi isnt joking around. They wanna creamte PK so that rhey can qualify for 2027 without playing anothwr qualifier.

it's a do or die series which is why i am excited for this series. Its not your average b string series that can just be ignored.

I just wish it wasnt airing at such pathetic times. I can watch the 2nd and 3rd odi full but not this one unfortunately.

Pakistan win the toss and opt to bowl first against West Indies in the first ODI of the series

Pakistan 1 Abdullah Shafique, 2 Saim Ayub, 3 Babar Azam, 4 Mohammad Rizwan (capt, wk), 5 Salman Agha, 6 Hasan Nawaz, 7 Hussain Talat, 8 Faheem Ashraf, 9 Shaheen Afridi, 10 Naseem Shah, 11 Sufiyan Muqeem

West Indies 1 Brandon King, 2 Evin Lewis, 3 Keacy Carty, 4 Shai Hope (Capt, wk), 5 Sherfane Rutherford, 6 Roston Chase, 7 Romario Shepherd, 8 Gudakesh Motie, 9 Shamar Joseph, 10 Jayden Seales, 11 Jediah Blades

Modern cricket why such statements just play cricket to win matches and give deserving players proper opportunities

Lol Nawaz at 6
Lets be honest mate, Rizwan as captain was never going to vacate no 4.

According to Ponting, No 3 is where your best batsmen bats in odi with no 4 being your best player of spin or 2nd best batter overall.

Rizwan believes he is the best player of spin :vk2

3 main bowlers and part timers after that. It's risky and it seems we haven't learned from being short on bowlers from their tri-series & championship trophy.

Faheem is a complete non factor as a bowler these days. I wish they had Abbas Afridi in the squad instead.

Shaheen strikes! A poor and lazy shot from the batter to be honest. You gotta either hit that along the ground or take a harder cut at the ball.

After a long, exhausting week at work - to come home to watch an ODI between my two favourite teams in a paradise like backdrop, and on what looks a nicely grassed surface, is exactly what I wanted to unwind.

Shame the bowlers are trundling

Naseem's wrist position is messed up.
He wants to swing the ball miles both ways.

Was much better when he landed the ball on seam and focussed on accuracy. But comes across as stupid so don't expect him to rectify that soon.

I don’t mind seeing Hussain Talat getting a chance again as he has done the hard yards in domestic cricket. But what wonders can he do at number 7? I don’t like the balance of this side. Should have played a proper bowler or a proper allrounder.

It's amusing that Pakistan wanted to turn these ODIs into T20s when West Indies are literally languishing at 10 trying to qualify for the World Cup
