What are the best street food options in London and Edinburgh?

I’m visiting London sometime in the coming months and wnated recommendations on good street food. Local cuisines - however you may define them - are best. I’d guess British cuisines?

It doesn’t have to be street food only, restaurants will also do provided they’re not too expensive.

I’ll mostly be in the popular touristy areas - so the areas around Soho, Tower or London, British Museum (just to give you a sample of location).

Paratha Box - Slough (Chicken Fajita Paratha Roll)

Pepe’s peri peri - (Chicken XL extreme + mango and lime + Peri chips + peri corn on the cob)

Rio’s Piri Piri - Same as above

If you’re going to an Indian takeaway, and you’re ordering Chips and Cheese, make sure you inspect your food before leaving. My mate got a block of cheese and I almost died from laughter.

The area near the British Museum has plenty of restaurants. Not sure about street food though. Didn't find many options when I was there.
A nice place for street food in London is the Portobello Road market.

As for Edinburgh, the Royal Mile is the place to go for eateries.

But if I were to go to an Indian restaurant once, just to see how the Brit’s do the chicken tikka masala different, which one would you suggest?

Try Fizensa in Edinburgh. If you are Muslim and book in advance they can make it halal for you.

Apart from that you can find lots of food around the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Scotland isn't really known for its street food as such but Edinburgh Christmas markets may have started by the time you come and you can try a lot of food there.

Don't dedicate too much time there bro especially in Winter months won't be as much to see there it's a beachy kind of area.

Stick to central part of Edinburgh. It's a nice city don't need to have too much pre planned just roam around and stuff will catch your eye.

Don’t know much about London restaurants, but the man who “invented chicken tikka masala” has a restaurant in Glasgow called Shish Mahal, not far from Edinburgh. My grandad was the headchef there as well.

Also, Chillies West End (Glasgow again) has probably the best butter chicken I’ve ever had.

Very cool not of history. Yeah I was reading up on how the chicken tikka masala was invented in Scotland. This time I probably won’t have time to go to Glasgow, but it’s always cool to know.
