What are the odds of a Younis Khan special in his last Test?

As the series is now live and in the balance, and also the farewell match of one of Pakistan's TAG test batsman- Younis Khan.

Younis has been known to bail the team out of a difficult situation innumerable times such as this and the stage is setup nicely for one last hurrah from the great man.

Being an admirer of his batting, I would want him to retire on a high. And watching him in the recent series such as the tough England and Australia tours, he was at his best in the last test. So there's every reason to follow this last test match. Now that the 10000 run barrier is off his shoulders, he should be batting with more freedom.

wouldnt be surprised to see a YK ton to deliver us the series win. He has proven us wrong many times over the year.

Like the way he turned it around for us in the Oval?

Younis Khan tends t produce a big score in the last match of the series. Quite often it's a daddy hundred. Scored 200 in England and a 150 in Australia. When he gets really motivated to put up a performance he shows us the one quality of his that has made him legend of Test cricket and that is his application.

Hopefully the occasion of playing his last match will inspire him.

And I hope the pitch on offer in the last test is better than this one. I don't want him dismissed of a treacherous missile keeping low.

West Indies, sadly, have a recent history of doing well only in Barbados. Their next game is at Dominica, and if history holds true, they're likely to perform poorly there. Khan, in contrast, has a history of going out in blazes of glory.

He normally plays one big innings per series while sucking in the rest of them.

I say YK will smash a hundred and signs off in style.

Sadly it was unplayable delivery.

Hope he signs of with a ton and a series victory.

Khan has a knack for saving a series..

So do the scores of 0 and 5 dent the ATG status of YK ? :amir2

One test shouldn't build or destroy any status. Now that status may be a imaginary for a tiny minority, but just making a point.

Yeah I was focusing on that tiny minority only - I'v seen careers spanning over 20 years destroyed to nothing over a mere innings or two

Probable.. He has done well on big occasion or perhaps the last match of most series.

Now with just one innings away, we have the last opportunity to see YK in whites. Will he able to reproduce the magic and help Pakistan win the series by showing why he is the best all time batsman during the second innings.

It will be interesting to see how YK bats in his final innings.

Learnt from another post that he needs 83 to tumble another record. YK loves his numbers and knowing him will score 83 at least.

83 not out.

If he scores 83* we will be in strong position. Currently we are struggling at 8-2

He should play with positive intent without being reckless. Windies will make sure Gabriel, Joseph & Holder bowl atleast 15 overs upfront against him with no spin on offer.

Hope & Pray that he succeeds in his last Test Innings and We win the Test.

Another big occasion, series on line and team in trouble- you know who is gonna save you?

I like the aggressive intent. Wants to sign off with a statement.

Would have loved to see him get those 83 runs and sign off on a high. But this game can be rude. Hope the likes of Azhar, Babar and Shafiq carry forward his legacy and that is to score big when the chips are down.

I liked the intent. How rude is this game ?

Both Misbah & Younis got out on shots which they mastered.

There is always a fall. Even Life ends one day.

That catch by the fielding standards of Powell was absolutely sensational. On another day He would have dropped it 9 out 10 times.

Odds have been low since the end of 2015. His consistency and strike rate took a fall since that which hinted that he was pretty much done.

It remains sad that he couldn't end with an average of 55 as he deserved. Same fate happened to Ponting.

The odds werent high. He and Misbah both ended with a whimper. Two of the most overrated players in the world.
