Nice.

Watching wrestling used to be one of my hobbies before WWE went full woke.

I used to watch WWE regularly from 2001 till around 2009.

I still keep in touch once in a while but I barely know the new guys.

Cricket
Reading islamic books and history books.
I enjoy smoking Shisha too. Used to go out for it but just smoke at home now. Give uncle vibes when I'm at shisha cafes now.

"Interests" change from time to time, for the past few months its been listening to Hindutva argue against Islam, watching hours and hours of their "best arguments" and realizing that they don't know anything about science, logic or philosophy.

But familiarizing myself with the their "best objections" on Islam and listening calmly and patiently for hours on end.

Its not easy listening to illogical rambling, believe me...

LOL! I think it is a complete waste of time to engage with them. They don't have any intention to learn. They just want to argue for the sake of it.

Nice.

I also love to spend time with Quran, Hadith etc. I don't do it regularly; need to do more.

Haven't smoken shisha in a very long time. I think I last did it in 2013. I don't want to smoke again. :inti

I also like listening to Islamic lectures. I am trying to listen to less music and more Islamic lectures these days.

Switch to nasheed maybe.

I quit mainstream music. I now only listen to nasheeds, adhans, and Quran recitations.

I play this when I want to have a calm environment or just want to relax:

There is nothing substantial to "engage" with Hindutva, they basically Google and rehash arguments borrowed from "Christian Missionaries" which have been debunked.

At least the Orientalists and then the ""Christian Missionaries" and "Atheists in the West" try to come up with arguments and actually read.

Brother,

If you have a scientific or philosophical background, listen to this channel

Londoniyyah series is very good..

I watched wrestling religiously from 2000-2009. Then I got older, and became busy with uni and work, and wrestling lost its magic, so I stopped watching it as much. I still keep in touch with all of the WWE shows and watch highlights on their YouTube channel. But other than some PPVs such as Wrestlemania, I never watch a full show. It must be close to 15 years since I last watched a full episode of Raw or Smackdown.

It is a way to social with friend. We usually play cards, board games and have long chats while smoking Shisha.

Yes, I need to listen to more nasheeds. I occasionally listen to nasheeds by Juanid Jamshed. They are more peaceful to listen to than mainstream music.

True.

You can have some good debates with educated Christians who may not like Islam but are willing to have an honest discussion.

Sanghis are nothing like that. Sanghis just want to argue in a stupid manner.

Debating Indians on PP :kp

Watching and playing sports in order - Gym- Football - Boxing - MMA - Cricket - F1 Snooker/Pool

Reading/watching Islamic history/theology

Hiking, walking in nature

Travelling the world

money, investing etc.

Give us some tips

Just bought SPUS an hour ago.

Check this thread, I advised ppers to invest in Gold/Silver. Gold is now at record highs. In 2006 when I first bought gold it was $650 per troy ounce, now its hovering around $3300 per ounce, this is a huge rise, more than the rise in value of property!

Silver is the way now, it will imo reach $50 per ounce in the next 24 months.

Paper money is on the way out brother, its a scam. Hard assets will be the way forward. Im not sure what your view on shares is Islamically but I know a few who are investing heavily in new mining companies who are looking for rare earth minerals and metals. Any other investment is just a gamble, you can never be sure. I get advice from those who know at lot more lol, just passing it on.

F1? Interesting. I have always found F1 boring. LOL.

Are there any halal stocks you recommend? What do you think about cryptos?

Little bit of this, little bit of that :inti

LOL!

When I was in high school, I was once pushed by an Afghan guy. It was like a mini-fight. Anyway, we became good friends later on.

Other than that, I had a small fight with my brother once. We are cool now.

Buy a punching bag and do MMA classes here and there if not able to go consistently

That way you can at least learn basics and if you’re busy practice on your own and then go in every month or so to make sure your technique is good.

That’s what I’ve been doing and it’s enjoyable

Good cardio and never know when you need to throw down.

This is true. Interests definitely change over time.

For example, 10-15 years ago, I was into playing cricket. I no longer feel like playing. I now just watch.

I was also a gym rat. I used to hit the gym 5-6 times a week. I now don't feel like going to gym. However, I still do cardio.

As I grew older, I wanted to make things as easy as possible.

I thought about buying a punching bag a while ago.

F1 is pretty technical, it’s also the main global motorsport. Have been watching motorsport before cricket lol

I would recommend antiques , they are also a great investment but you have to make sure they are genuine and rare with a market for resale. It’s more interesting than shares and very profitable too

Yeah. You never know when you’ll be in a situation to defend yourself or a loved one. As a Muslim man it’s on us to protect those in need, ofc Allah helps us overcome but we should do our part to stay ready and be equipped even if it’s the bare minimum.

What I have noticed is that they always have 20 - 25 same questions that is asked about Islam. These questions are rephrased and asked and used against Islam everywhere. To be honest I am bored with answering them , they have been answered several times. I am waiting for some new intellectual objections.

Cooking /reading

Once you start cooking your own food - you’ll never eat out again (unless tired or don’t have time..)

Board Games , Books, Swimming all of which took a backseat as I had to upskill and work more, hopefully I can get back to them as it made me sad not being involved.

Since 2019 I have tried learning one new thing, got my Scuba License, learnt Ice skating, Bouldering-Indoor climbing, Yoga.
Nothing made me as happy as swimming, I don’t live near a coast but I’m certain Surfing would had been my fav.

I have unfortunately put on weight in last 6 months and need to shed a lot, hopefully can learn Boxing cardio to shed it. #Accountability

While true I do eat outside to learn new ways of how they use ingredients, this esp helps with wraps, sandwiches but not with Desi cooking, youtube gives better techniques

I like to cook but I don't need to cook much as my mother does most of the cookings.

Gordon Ramsay's shows made me interested in cooking. I have his cooking book also.

I think my fried rice is pretty good. :inti

Nice.

I want to learn swimming. It seems like a fun activity.

I went to Canada's Wonderland a few times and I often used to spend many hours in their water parks. I love to stay in water.

2 more interests I forgot to add:

- Astronomy. I am very passionate about it. I am looking to buy a good telescope.

- Chess. I play chess regularly for the last 12-14 years. I think I have played around 20,000 chess games online. I love this game.

Swimming is fun , to me it’s relaxing as well since I have been swimming since childhood . I grew up in Chennai and almost everyone knew swimming there inspite of that after coming to states is when I realised the western folks are much better swimmers, i had to improve my stamina to keep up and learn to breathe better.

I highly recommend it even as an exercise.

I have swam in Lakes, rivers and shallow Seashores.

Astronomy is fun but i didn’t realise how hectic it can get even for hobbyists, the constant monitoring and keeping ip.

In Texas areas there are free shows with big telescopes by enthusiasts, Saturn actually looks exactly how we draw it, it was dreamlike.

I want to learn swimming and and also how to climb trees. May come in handy (particularly swimming).

I see.

I have never owned a telescope. Hoping to buy one soon.

Awesome.

I love to play golf in video games but not in real life. LOL.

i dont care about giving uncle vibes, have groups of ages ranging from 20 to 50 lol. its a bad habit, but it just hits diff if u stressed and need a break.

Love playing Badminton. Tennis when the weather is nice sometimes. I like watching anime too. Draw a bit.

What are your favorite animes?

I used to watch Digimon and Beyblade. A bit of Pokemon and DragonBall Z also.
Gintama is my favourite it holds a special place in my heart. Hence the avatar. I think one punch man and death note are great too. Haven’t watched all of attack on titan and didn’t find the 2nd season as good, but the first season was superb.

Remember watching Pokémon and digimon when I was younger. Great times.

Also while not Japanese avatar the last airbender is truly fantastic. Even if it’s a kids show it’s incredible even to watch as an adult.

I see. Never heard of Gintama.

I enjoyed Digimon 1. Didn't enjoy Digimon 2.

Pokemon was quite good. I used to play Pokemon video games (PC games) a lot.

I haven't watched animes in over a decade. I don't think I will watch again as I am in my 30's now.

Attack on Titan was really good up until end when it ended up being like code geass.
My personal fav is defn deathnote and Baccano.
I hate animes that continue into oblivion, never saw Gintama.. as a teenager my fav was Full Metal Panic.

Avatar is awesome, honestly except s2 even legend of Korra was awesome.

Gintama is a pretty unique anime, never watched anything else like it, not every single episode is amazing as there’s so many but when it does hit it’s great.

I might give Baccano a try then 🙂.

Legend of Korra I found pretty good at times and some parts of it felt weak. Though I think they set such a high bar with the first one with the last air bender it’s tough to replicate. I think I genuinely loved every single episode of the last airbender.

The same person who wrote avatar has come up with a new animation show called Dragon prince. It’s decent but it also feels a step down from airbender and Korra.

Will check out Gintama, a lot of animes are also loved part of nostalgia but don’t make great viewing as adults - Captain Tsubasa, Dragon Ball z, flame of recca to name a few.

If you do check Gintama out you could just watch the first episode or two to introduce the characters. The first 20 or so episodes are actually weaker than the rest anyway. And then just watch the highest rated episodes/arcs. A lot of them are standalone or short arcs, there’s not huge ongoing story progression in Gintama that you have to watch them all in order or have to see every single episode.
