Hello, I am looking to purchase a new bat for nets only. I can pay up to £60 only as its only for nets. I like middle weight bats, not to heavy and not to light. I would like one with a clean face etc..

I have so far looked at these bats:

Gunn Moore Apex DXM 303 Bat - http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Pro...eady-ToeTekl-Grade-Four-Blue-Black-26213.aspx

Gunn Moore Icon DXM 303 - http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Pro...lack-Cricket-Bat-Pro-Direct-Cricket-2829.aspx

If you can, can you please suggest any more bats. I don't care about the brand or anything. I just want a nice bat for nets with a clean face etc. I play in the UK and we have low bounce.

Thanks.

Definately not a boom boom...........they are very expensive for asian bats. Something like a CA or a GM would do nicely

It's not a good idea to start a new thread with the intention of having it merged later on; that defeats the purpose of dedicated threads.

Either way, I wouldn't recommend a Boom Boom as I don't think they're great value for money. Have a read and you'll see that there's been quite a buzz around GM bats on this forum lately so perhaps that's something that interests you. Let us know the kind of pitches you play on so that we can point you in the right direction.

what he said...........please give us some more info on your style of play, favourite shots, least favourit etc...

canadian cricketer bhai gm top of the line is more expensive than boom boom so i would say bb is better but not as good as mb ca or ihsan

lol.......I said GM for no reason.......though I do think the lower end GM's are very good. IMO, get either a CA or ihsan...........inferno and lynx play very well and last ages

Hey.......thanks for updating...........I would say you picked out something very nice. u Have to get the apex. Its a gem of a bat. Its cheap......not top of the line.......but it outperforms a lot of higher end expensive bats. Check out these links for a better description of the bat:

Thanks for the help. I will go for the Apex then. But I have some questions first:

1) What grade would this apex be?
2) In the video links you provided me with, he had the 2010 version. The one I am going to buy is the 2011 version. Would it still be the same bat but with different stickers?
3) The only sizes they have left in stock are Medium and light weight. What size is medium weight e.g. 2.9lb?

Thanks

Bhai, I would recommend to you the Icon actually because it suits your style of play as it has a high middle and superb pick up. However if you are really set on the Apex that's up to you.

Now to answering your queries.

1)Well it will be lower end English Willow like G4 or G3

2)Yes the bat will be pretty much the same, but new stickers.

3) Medium weight will be around 2.9-2.11

Ok thanks for the info but because my pitches have low bounce, shouldn't I get a bat with a lower middle.

No problem brother.

Actually, since you play on lower bouncing pitches I would say go for Apex.

1) its grade 3 willow with a protective cover so u wont see the grain

2) exact same bat but new 2011 stickers

3) medium welll........dont know for sure but a light would be 2.7-2.9, so im guessing a medium will be 2.10-2.12 something like that

Thanks QS, If I buy this bat, will the face be clean or have polycoat etc?

Also would it look good if i had a pink grip on it?

theres no polycoat.

get the pink grip if u like it. swann is using it i think.
