Cricket is back in Pakistan, crowds have been spectacular and viewership numbers have been great.

PSL is gonna get bigger and better going forward and we might so more investments and probably more teams coming in.

What does PSL need to do to get the privilege of a separate window so that all overseas players are available and that is the only cricket anyone can watch when its going on?

Also if its even possible?

No league apart from ipl will get this privilege and rightfully so otherwise these pajama leagues will take over the main show which is int cricket

Whats the criteria to award this privilege? What happens when some other league meets the criteria?

Not to forget this privilege gives any league an advantage and brand value automatically goes up with all players available and no other cricket going on.

There is room for only one league otherwise the future of international cricket will be in jeopardy.

Obviously, IPL deserves that window. It’s status is now on par with T20 internationals and it is the reason for the existence of PSL, BPL, BBL, CPL and even The Hundred etc.

Money is the only criteria.
When PSL starts to offer 1 million dollars like IPL does players mind will change. Players can convince there boards themselves.

IPL only managed this as it pays players ridiculous amount of money. The players then put pressure on their boards and voila.

PSL isn't that important that it deserves it's own window. The best time to play if you want it's own window is during the IPL.

lol, no.

IPL only gets it because it takes the marquee players and because of BCCI's pull.

No league should ever get it's own window.

No league should.

This basically.

It's going to be interesting now that England is going to start their franchise tournament. Australia aimed for the local market because of their time zone difference but England can target prime time subcontinent viewership so now this will be interesting.

The next few years can be a power struggle between the big two for the private league market share. Interesting times ahead.

Two things that may not allow PSL to get a window.

1. Indian players will not play PSL, so some big team will either be hosting or touring India. And this wont stop for any league.

2. PSL has to be attractive enough for maquee players to regularly play in it. At present thats not the case. Mostly through PSL, there were international events throughout the world with most teans involved in it. It is here that IPL got the first mover advantage.
