What do Kashmiris from IoK think of Pakistan's new Prime Minister? Do y'all prefer him over the previous Prime Ministers?

Haibat Khan Niazi, the ancestor of Imran Khan, so IoK peoples should have hope :

Haibat Khan Niazi was a Pashtun noble and military leader. He was the most powerful noble of Sher Shah Suri and Commander of the Niazi contingent of his army. He is best known for bringing law and order in Multan by destroying the power of Balochs and Fetah Khan Jat who were laying waste to entire South Punjab. Sher Shah Suri granted him the title of Azam Hamayun and appointed him governor of Maharashtra Currently, the sub-clans of Gen. Haybat Khan Niazi are residing mainly in Isakhel;Mianwali.

Sher Shah Suri ordered Khan to conquer Kashmir, Multan and Sindh in present-day Pakistan. Haibat Khan first conquered Kashmir and installed the Chak dynasty. The conquest of Multan and Sindh and the restoration of law and order was completed by November, 1543.

It'd be cool if he liberates them but I don't think his heritage matters otherwise Nawaz Sharif who originates from there would've liberated IoK a long time ago.

"My father would always tell me that we are from Anantnag. We had migrated to Amritsar from there for business," Sharif told this correspondent in his office in Lahore's Model Town last month where he sat with his key associates tracking the results of the election. "And my mother's family came from Pulwama."

Me and my dad were so keenly watching the result of the election day in Pakistan and were hoping that IK will be new pm of Pakistan and we felt very happy when ge won. He is certainly honest and miles better then previous ones. He is committed to make the Pakistan a stable country and that is what we want. He is certainly more popular than previous ones here mainly the work he did like building cancer hospital, university etc and we wish him all the best to make Pakistan a beautiful country. I hope he takes Kashmir issue more seriously and expose the atrocities of indan army on international stage.

appreciate the sentiment brother, how was Nawaz Sharif viewed? Are Kashmiris aware of his links to Kashmir? Was that a factor?

Kashmiris love Imran Khan.I actually reme the election day,I was following each and every news channel on YouTube and there even was a thread on PP regarding elections.I was so so happy to see him win.As far as I am concerned,I know that he is a honest man, definitely is not corrupt,he genuinely wants to make a better Pakistan and finally he was the leader that Pakistan needed. There is simply no other option right now,you can't go back to the likes of Bhutto's or Sharif's.
Lastly I would like to say this to my Kashmiri brothers-Imagine Khan Saab coming here in Lal Chowk or any other place in Kashmir for that matter.Just imagine the craze, the chaos!!

Support for Imran khan is widespread in J&K.

He was a cult figure back in the day. The cover of school notebooks used to have his picture on it back in 90s. I have vague memories of it. This was the public sentiment.

As part of Indian state propaganda to counter this sentiment, the pictures got changed to Sachin tendulkar's in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Now that is interesting.
